Thanks for the great info ! I purchased my Sierra at the start of Covid and did not get any explanation of the controls ! 4 years later you have shown me many features I did not know about ! Thanks again.....TJ
Also if you don't want to push the start/acc button you can push the power button on to turn on the radio without turning anything else. I figured this out while waiting on my wife while shopping!! 👍🏽👍🏽
Man I just picked up a 2020 1500 Sierra Denali and you just gave me some really great tips! Got yourself a new subscriber! I gotta find your part 2 vid now :)
After setting your brightness level it should also change automatically from now on. During the day it will turn back brighter and when it gets dark enough that your headlights turn on, it will dim the displays automatically from now on
Geeze Jeff, you talk fast. Did you ever you ever think about being an auctioneer for a side job? So much info. I had to pause it several times just to let it sink in. 😊
Please do a video of all available options for the refresh as soon as they are available. I am going to order and would like some insight before ordering. Thanks for all the info Jeff.
Great video, hoping that you could do a video about the trucks transfer case, most dealership don't know the feature of how to change the transfer case to neutral when the truck has to be towed, as in behind motorcoach
7:00 Low Fuel level will also prevent the remote start from working.... well, it will start but then immediately die. Ask me how I know! The fuel sending unit hasn't working in my truck for two years, so remote start never works. (I have a 2009 3500HD Dually). One of these years I will get the sending unit replaced so the fuel gauge works again.
Thanks! Have had my ‘21 AT4 for a year and thought the seat/mirror settings on the door tied to the key fobs, like they did in my ‘10 Silverado. Looking forward to the video on the display. Too many options here and the manual isn’t necessarily that clear. Personally I doubt the salesman might not have known all the ins and outs to have explained them even if I’d had the time when I picked it up. Really appreciate your explanations and videos.
Just a quick heads up, the Traction Control switch also turns off the Stabili-Track mode for the trucks. You have to hold the Traction Control button for about 6-8 seconds and you'll see a message that Stabili-Track has been disengaged. It will come back on once you hit 20mph though. Nifty little trick if you want that extra power to fully get to the tires. GM started doing this in the 2017+ trucks and should have carried this over to the next gen. Care to confirm this Jeff? I would but don't have my new truck yet. Great info otherwise.
Auto is awesome. Have had it since 03 Envoy. No blast of cold air - low fan speed until the coolant warms up. Then adjusts heat/cool for your comfort. Is the remote temperature sensor in the door pillars like the envoy?
New subscriber here. Also a new GMC Sierra SLT 1500 user. I like having the 4 wheel drive when visiting my family in northern Minnesota. Actually, I had to use the 4 wheel in Texas last year. Haha. I did learn about the cruise control (pushing once on the left is like hitting the break - brilliant. Also the front lever on the seat control has been misunderstood by me. I just fumble around to place it where I like it, but now I understand what it is doing. Haha. One thing I am trying to figure out is how to route antenna cables in and out of the rear cab. I have a crew cab and I am looking to see if there is any grommet or place behind the back seats that can route a cable through it. I have found out how to run battery power with either grommet in the engine compartment, just don’t know where I can access the back of the cab. I have found a place under the front passenger and could use it if I have to, but coax doesn’t like making U-Turns so I would like to avoid that. On the subject of learning where access for cables can be, I have looked for a service manual for the truck. If you have any links you can share, I would love to see them. All the best, thanks for the video.
I have a 2021 GMC Sierra. If I'm stopped at a stop light and turn my ac off and on, it turns my truck off and on. With the auto stop on. Is that normal?
Hey Jeff, Thank you for this intructive vid..., Did GM find a solution to make the cameras work when the tail gate is removed? And what else do we lose if these cameras are disconnected. Does adding a See Through Trailer Camera solve the problem???
2500 SLT double cab long bed please ! Send one to Vancouver ;) Nice to see some " lower " trims compared to just all Denali's like every other youtuber .... a mix is always good
Hey Jeff, you mentioned switch needs to be pushed to energize plug in bed of the truck. In my truck the switch right next to button won't work either without switch being switched on. Is this an oversight in the design?
I just bought a 2022 at4 6.2. I have one question. How do you put it on sport mode. I've tried it and it goes from normal to off road, skipping sport mode.
Another great video! I just traded 21 Denali for 22 ltd at4, 6.2. In the modes I have normal, sport and off road. But it skips over sport! Wonder if that’s because of chip shortage? I know at4 doesn’t have adaptive shock but I always like sport for sharper steering, higher shift points. My 21 Yukon had sport too. Maybe I’ll get a retrofit later? Thanks!
In 21 they removed the "sport" mode as a option, and update to ur software will remove it from the screen. My 22 at4 also shows all 3 options but skips over sport 😢
I bought my GMC with 13,000 miles. One key fob shows that I am the second driver. The other shows that I am the third driver. I have set the seats as driver one, but fob still shows me as second and third driver. How do I make myself as driver one with key fob?
It takes no power to drop it. It basically just releases it to allow gravity to drop it. Anything with the Multipro/flex tailgate can’t get the power up tailgate because it’s too heavy for the motor. Can’t have both at this time. Either flex tailgate, power up tailgate or neither. The power up is a cheaper option than flex on the silverados but seems like most gmcs come with the flex they call it Multipro on gmcs for some reason.
I just picked up a 2022 Ltd AT4 and the sport mode appears in the selector window when turning the dial but does not engage. The salesman said the sport setting is being phased out in the 22's and the next software update will remove the icon from the list. Sounded specious to me. Any knowledge of this you can share?
Is there a way to prevent the running boards from extending for when you're offloading to prevent the boards from being damaged on the terrain as you're getting in and out of the truck?
I was not aware that the tow/haul mode wasn't on the shift lever of the current generation trucks. I thought moving it to the dash was new for the new (refresh/new interior) model that you just did a video on, which I commented on about the tow/haul mode button.
I'm ordering a new 22 at4 and one of the colors is titanium rush. Witch is a gray but I can't find a example of that color. Do you know a place where I can see it online?
Are these GM trucks really any good? A guy I know named Scotty, who drives a '94 Celica, says they aren't so reliable and I should buy a Toyota Tundra or even a F150 instead.
No. Only HighCountry, which is the equivalent to a regular Denali. GMC having the Ultimate trim only makes sense, as GMC is the higher end premium brand for GM trucks.
Once they update the HD Trucks than make a video of that! Until than it's kind of begin to being repetitive content! The GM trucks Have not changed and will not change! They are the last in class
Very very informative. Unfortunately we dont get chev/gm vehicles here in New Zealand (wish the Canadian factory did the conversions like they did back in the 50's through to the early 70's). The new vehicles we do get (asian 😞 and European) here, the sales people never show ya what everything does or how to operate things. I'm old school (the actual key to turn and start car). Never had electric air con (manual air con was winding down window) or cruise control (hang on. Back track. Cruise control was using feet on pedals to control speed or brakes) The pre 90's vehicles here had the actual child lock on the back doors like what you showed with that vehicle. Now, everything has the locks that work as soon as ya get over 5 or 10 km/h. I hate that idea.
Love your videos! So nice to know all the features that the salesperson doesn't take the time to tell you. I have a '18 Sierra 2500HD Denali and I want to program another fob...can I do that myself? Thanx in advance, Jeff!
Jeff, two things. #1 I was never told about holding the start button without my foot on the brake to engage the truck into accessories mode. Thanks! Love listening to the radio while I occasionally eat lunch or wait for the Wife to get done shopping... 2nd questions, why do you not remove the stickers under the brim of that miserably ugly hat ! ? LOL.
I have a 2021 Sierra w/duramax engine. Wouldn’t have bought it if I KNEW that every time it snows the engine light comes on because the transmission fans clog with snow…worst winter vehicle ever
Thanks Jeff, I learned more about my recently purchased 2021 sierra Denali in 20 minutes then I have in hours pouring over the owners manual.😊
Thanks for the great info ! I purchased my Sierra at the start of Covid and did not get any explanation of the controls ! 4 years later you have shown me many features I did not know about ! Thanks again.....TJ

The interior 120v plug is also activated by the switch that you said turns on the outlet in the bed.
Your video is definitely the most informative that I have seen on the GMC denali features!
Can you please talk about the cameras for trailering? Also wired vs wireless whether they will work on the in truck screen. Thanks, love your content.
I will try to! 😃👍🏼
I have a 2019 Sierra SLT with the 5.3 - 8 speed without the X31 package and it does have the 4 wheel low option
The plug switch also works for the interior outlet
After setting your brightness level it should also change automatically from now on. During the day it will turn back brighter and when it gets dark enough that your headlights turn on, it will dim the displays automatically from now on
Great video- amazed at extending the running boards. I never knew that!
As soon as I get my hands on one, you know I will!!
Thanks Jeff. I have a 22 Yukon. Learned a lot.
Just bought a 2021 AT4. Very informative! Go Pack Go!
Great video, hoping that you could do a video about the trucks transfer case, most dealership don't know the feature of how to change the transfer case to neutral when the truck has to be towed, as in behind motorcoach

My 2021 GMC AT4 tied in with my key fob... Works well when I get in with my setting.
The memory settings ARE tied to the key fobs. Hth
Excellent video thanks so much learn several things I was completely unaware of

Correct! Great point about the stabilitrak as well!
Auto is awesome. Have had it since 03 Envoy. No blast of cold air - low fan speed until the coolant warms up. Then adjusts heat/cool for your comfort. Is the remote temperature sensor in the door pillars like the envoy?
Great question, I am not sure.. I’ll have to look into that!
Great information for new owners like me, thank you for sharing!
Damn…GM Jeff really does know these trucks💯✔️ Great tips…thank you🙏🏾🇺🇸🦾👍🏽
I have the 4 low in my 21 denali 3l diesel ⛽️.
Maybe the 4L comes with the 3.0L Duramax too? I just have the Denali trim, no X31 I believe and still have 4L
Same, 21 Denali 3.0 4L with 2 speed transfer case.
cant wait to see the one for the 2022 Silverado 1500 refresh!!
As soon as we get one!
What about the foot Pedals. Do they move in or out like every other vehicle, or not. If so I’ll let you know where they are.

Can HUD, Rear Mirror Camera, and Trailer Cameras be added to a 20 Sierra 1500 SLT/X31? Those are about the only options it doesn't have.
Hey Jeff, great video! When listening to Sirius how do you get Android phone to chime in with navigation directions?
Thanks
Thank you Jeff in the Soo.
Very informative.
Question, you you change bed size on a 2019 set? Like to go from a short bed to a standard. Is that possible? Love the video
Hey Jeff, Thank you for this intructive vid..., Did GM find a solution to make the cameras work when the tail gate is removed? And what else do we lose if these cameras are disconnected. Does adding a See Through Trailer Camera solve the problem???
Great choice in the hat! Hello from northern Wisconsin
Have you done video yet to explain touch screen on GMC Sierra?
2500 SLT double cab long bed please ! Send one to Vancouver ;) Nice to see some " lower " trims compared to just all Denali's like every other youtuber .... a mix is always good
If only we had one! Lol
Jeff, any idea how the reservations for the updated Sierras will work? How is your dealership handling it?
First come, first serve. Place a deposit, we will build the truck , and place the orders when we get availability for them
Great video never enough
Hey Jeff, you mentioned switch needs to be pushed to energize plug in bed of the truck. In my truck the switch right next to button won't work either without switch being switched on. Is this an oversight in the design?
No you are correct, I should have mentioned that in the video
What about the foot pedals, do they move. If so please let me know.
I just bought a 2022 at4 6.2. I have one question. How do you put it on sport mode. I've tried it and it goes from normal to off road, skipping sport mode.
Same here!

How after four years are the 2019 GMC SIERRA DENALI 1500 holding up so far
2022 GMC denali don't have the buttons for the heads-up display by the left of the steering wheel how can I turn it on and off
I bought my GMC with 13,000 miles. One key fob shows that I am the second driver. The other shows that I am the third driver. I have set the seats as driver one, but fob still shows me as second and third driver. How do I make myself as driver one with key fob?
Tailgate can power down. Does it power up in 22 Sierra?
It takes no power to drop it. It basically just releases it to allow gravity to drop it. Anything with the Multipro/flex tailgate can’t get the power up tailgate because it’s too heavy for the motor. Can’t have both at this time. Either flex tailgate, power up tailgate or neither. The power up is a cheaper option than flex on the silverados but seems like most gmcs come with the flex they call it Multipro on gmcs for some reason.
Can you cover adaptive cruise control
I just picked up a 2022 Ltd AT4 and the sport mode appears in the selector window when turning the dial but does not engage. The salesman said the sport setting is being phased out in the 22's and the next software update will remove the icon from the list. Sounded specious to me. Any knowledge of this you can share?
That is correct, mine does the same thing
Is there a way to prevent the running boards from extending for when you're offloading to prevent the boards from being damaged on the terrain as you're getting in and out of the truck?
Yes there is a switch you can flip to deactivate the power boards
What Louis said! Lol
Rear parking assistance on 2022 GMC SIERRA DENALI?
Plus or Minus Lever on right side?
I was not aware that the tow/haul mode wasn't on the shift lever of the current generation trucks. I thought moving it to the dash was new for the new (refresh/new interior) model that you just did a video on, which I commented on about the tow/haul mode button.
I'm ordering a new 22 at4 and one of the colors is titanium rush. Witch is a gray but I can't find a example of that color. Do you know a place where I can see it online?
Jeff. Do you know if the alpine color interior in the ultimate will be offered in the Denali.
What's your thoughts on using L-9 as a means of disabling AFM/DFM? SKOL Vikes!
Thanks Jeff for video
Thanks for watching a Darryl!
Not many videos for my 2022 gmc 3500hd or 2500 anywhere. Thank you
Thanks for watching Christopher!
Does the off road mode activate the locking rear diff?
Are these GM trucks really any good? A guy I know named Scotty, who drives a '94 Celica, says they aren't so reliable and I should buy a Toyota Tundra or even a F150 instead.
Rev your engines….
@@GeneralMotorsJeff So should I take that as a NO, and GM trucks aren't reliable?
I've had a 21 at4 since April, love it, no issues, 13k miles .
Scotty is a quack. Especially if it’s Scotty from youtube
@@jonathanw8733 I was assuming that’s who he was referring to 😂
Can you please tell me what are the real differences between the at4 and trail boss besides looks 🤔. I am interested in the mechanical differences
There really isn't any mechanical differences between the 2.
This video should help Joe ua-cam.com/video/ehwYth2xmXA/v-deo.html
When that happens it will re set after 2 days or 25 miles.its happened to me a few times
Why did they go back to drum brakes in the rear?
Thanks for sharing 👍
I just got the 23 Sierra ultimate do you got a video on that
I have a ‘21 SLE regular cab short bed 5.3 and it comes with the 4 LO also but it’s a Mexican truck tho
Awesome!!! How about the hidden key 🔑
Awesome video!!! How about the hidden key the my dealer didn’t tell me lol
Ha ha.. should have mentioned that! Thank you!!
Will the be a chevy version as nice as the ULTIMATE????
No. Only HighCountry, which is the equivalent to a regular Denali. GMC having the Ultimate trim only makes sense, as GMC is the higher end premium brand for GM trucks.
Chevrolet will not have the utmost high end trim the same way as the Denali Ultimate, at least so far
Jeff, you didn't mention the button above the heated steering wheel button, looks like a crash button of sorts. What does it do?
That crash button adjusts the gap between you and the vehicle in front of you while using cruise control
The Reason the 2022 is the Last Ultimate Gas Burner switching everything to Electric in 2023!!!!
Once they update the HD Trucks than make a video of that! Until than it's kind of begin to being repetitive content! The GM trucks Have not changed and will not change! They are the last in class

What color is the truck?
What does the buttons on my door do that looks like an auto door opener
Hey Jeff I have a question. I can’t get my auto bright lights to work on my 2019 Sierra AT4. I have tried everything, any suggestions??
Not a Sierra but still a GM product, auto bright lights would only work on my 22 Buick Encore GX if the fog lights are off.
I have the z71 Sierra ❤❤❤❤❤

Jeff can you tell me why doesnt the air vents work for the back of my seats on my 21 Sierra at4?
It’s equipped with ventilated seats?
I also have rear vents in my 22 at4 and they don't work either,
I think they only cool the jewels, from our experience

My '21 GMC Denali 4X4, 3.0 Duramax has the 4L button.

They are 5 AUX botons
