  • "A Moveable Feast" quickly became a source of comfort for many Parisians in the wake of the deadliest attack the city had seen since World War II.

A Moveable Feast was the first book of Hemingway's I ever read. It was 1971. I was sixteen. And after reading it, I knew that the only thing I ever wanted to be was a writer. I've been to Paris several times, have visited Shakespeare and Company and some of the other places he mentions in the book. And it stays with me, because he was right -- Paris is a moveable feast.

It is not a movable feast. It is an old mans memory of what he can recall of his youth. It is a romantic vision of París with Hemingway as the hero. They (Hemingway,Fitzgerald, etc)spent amor of time drinking alcohol and being drunk. He did not finish the book before he killed himself. His widow decide on the title. She also added and changed parts of the book.

Is this CNN's way for apologizing for "Freedom Fries" comments instead of French fries back around 911?
