    Simon & Liz, Very impressive!!!
    2800kg Tare does not leave a lot of wiggle room for an ATM of 3500kg, our new rig is 2700kg Tare and I'm thinking did I stuff up, guess I will find out this week when its all fulled measured.
    The Electricial system looks well set out and you have thought of everything, but must say think it might be time these setup's went the next step and followed OEM's EV setups, good reason for all EV's cooling systems and battery structures.
    Looking forward to see it all when its fully kitted out and you have the next piece of the puzzle🙂

    Hey Simon and Liz, congratulations on the new van. I’m certain you’ll enjoy it! A word of advice: the hinges on the hatches are an ‘Achilles heel’. We’ve had a Sunseeker van for 6 years and have had to replace all the hinges at some point. I’ve actually redesigned ours with different hinges. I’d advise carrying a half dozen spare hinges because when in the scrub and the door comes off in your hand, you’re gonna want to repair right away. Another mitigation is to get into the habit of lowering the doors down evenly with two hands every time - don’t let them drop!

    Put wire rope removable of course on the shoe door to make another drop down table ? Ya May as well . check out Sunman 430w slim panels could save you a bit of weight on that roof ( Quality certified Panels) interesting to note they are getting almost as much solar input on vertical wall fitting as roof placement you got a full front panel you’d fit 430w panel on lol sun ☀ 🌞 ⛅ .. Do I see a diesel heater fitted to front boot 🤪🤪. OK watched now to go look at the window protection stuff and ya secret water weapon 👍👍

      Not a bad idea with the door/table. Slimline panels don't have a good rep. Especially in the heat.

    Stunning piece of kit guys, really well thought out. Would love to know what your tow ball weight comes in at with all that extra weight at the back? Not in any way a criticism as I love the clever design and additional storage the rear setup offers. In most conventional vans such an addition would bugger up the balance but I’m guessing it has been allowed for in your overall design.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, valid point Russell. Although most of the storage in the van is forward. The rear bar isn't any heavier than an extra spare tyre would be and Titanium have designed for it. We haven't weighed it loaded yet so can't say what the ball is.

    Well done you four…… Really like your informative posts!!!
    Am very curious regarding how the Ranger towed when you got your new van being 2,880kg in Tare. Given there would have been a big increase in weight again once fully loaded.
    (We are aware you now have the Toyota 👍)
    Our previous van came in 6,620kg Tare and once loaded travelling became a big management process to make sure we were all comfortable and importantly safe. We have since downsized and still have our Ranger towing very comfortably……. Keep up the great work and keep smiling!!!

    I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE that you went with a desalinator, however is there a reason you went with Water Makers as opposed to Rainman? - The unit you are getting is a permanent mount right?. The Rainman is about the same price but can be "portable".... Can you p[lease tell me why you went for this brand over others??. I am getting a Rainman setup in my Isuzu NPS build. So surprised so many other people do not get desal. Even more surprised caravan companies do not offer as a general option?!. Would love some feedback please. Subscribed!

    You have 1600 watts of roof mounted solar which is impressive however, correct me if im wrong but you mentioned there are two 800 watt arrays with each array going to one 40 amp solar controller. @12v?
    That's 133a total between two 40a controllers
    Allowing for a 20% loss (26a) you are still only charging at 80a out of possible 107a or 109 @14.6volts.
    Considering you have removed gas, it doesnt make sense not to harness all the capacity you can from the investment of your panels?

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, you're spot on. On paper, it looks like the chargers are a bottle neck in the system. In reality it's rare that the solar input from each 4 panel array exceeds 40A. There's a lot of losses in a solar system. If we notice the solar maxxing out frequently we could put some of the panels through the DCDC charger instead.

    Hey guys, thanks for the vid. Question about the Truma D6, how do you find it. I’m looking at a new Titanium, and want a diesel hot water heater. Tossing up between the Erbaspacher instantaneous or the Truma D6. I like the idea of a tank style over instantaneous, as I’m concerned the Erbasp. might waste too much water getting flow before heating. How do you find the Truma?

      We did consider 12v but ended up sticking with 12v for this one. We can run AC off it without a problem.

      @@TheLifestylePioneers ok thanks, we’re in the process of what to buy and how to run things off grid. Love the idea of the RO unit. Totally agree with the statement of power and water being your limiting factors. Enjoy your channel and have got many ideas from you😎👍

      @@TheLifestylePioneers awww yeah. We're building our van through off-road grit RV and or wishlist is very similar to what you've done. Wanted a system we could draw water from anywhere, keeping tank capacity lower with ability to draw anywhere. We have 500ah at 24v or 1000ah at 12v. Running victron. We also want to go gasless, have electric everything inside so no gas vents. Just weighing up deleting the bbq so no gas at all, also weigh less. Also family van at 20 foot 6. Also considering going East/West bed but wife doesn't like idea of crawling over it to make it. Other option is pushing into corner and retaining N/S but then lose the through tunnel boot. Love the show idea. Dare say we may steal that idea too! Head off April next year! Love your channel guys!

    Thanks for the walkaround, what a great van, we love it. I'm also looking forward to seeing what you've come up with for the desal system. I work in municipal water engineering and have built a few MF/RO systems over the years. Sea water being real high TDS around 35,000 uS/cm or higher with say two stages using SW RO membranes and brackish water will require BW's. You could go multi stages but I'm thinking recovery efficiency won't be paramount and reducing power consumption will be, single stage may be the go. You will need MF filtration before the RO membranes. Your water disinfection system should be interesting, there will be a few ways to do this.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  Рік тому

      Cheers! To be honest, you've lost me a bit there with MF, TDS, SW AND BW 😂 I know that RO is reverse osmosis and I know there's one membrane in our system capable of 80L/hr but that's about it.

    We have that Truma D6 in ours too! Does your tick when your using the heater? Not sure if ours is faulty but it has a really loud tick

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  Рік тому

      The 'ticking' noise comes from the fuel supply solenoid. Ours is barely noticeable as it's mounted externally and away from the living space. Check where yours is located as it might be able to be relocated to minimise the noise.
