I love it. I love that you second guessed yourself and instead if saying f it, you undid it and fixed it!! Video was two years ago so obviously you delivered it safely and maybe the other way would have gotten there too but I love the commitment to getting it right. I spent 2 hours today strapping my second stop down (It was one of those loads} and then another hour unstrapping and restrapping ,the first stop...why WWCD, I wasn't totally happy with it
I’ve only pulled dry van and reefer for the last two years but I been watching you for a few years now, you definitely take pride in what you do and I respect ,admire, and try my best to emulate it on my side of the industry. Keep the quality content coming sir! Stay safe
Man that’s a blessing and an inspiration coming from a driver who doesn’t run flatbed. Thank you, man. Very much appreciate the support! God Bless! 👊💯🙏
Picked up a wire reel load out of ca to Portland Friday had mismatch weight n size.2 in the front 2 in the back had to use snap binders for the smaller reels. Wouldn't work using ratchet binders for small ones.. your correct on keeping them in the cradle
We think alike Bud. Your doing just fine ! Saw a really bad situation a week ago with a trucker that died at the wheel and took out a car killing 4 people. Every one on the road needs to stay safe at all times !! Good job peace and God bless !! Safety is so important. That crash has wayed very heavy on my mind this week. I have a modo because I deal with a lot of responsibility. Modo is I am a craftsman and not a McDonald's drive through and will do one no good if I am dead trying to accomplish a job well done.
Man, I’m glad you could find a video to resource. Heck, that’s why I make them. I try and pass it on because when I was starting I don’t know crap and couldn’t get a UA-cam to reply to any comment I left. No worries, like you… I’m resourceful and got the info I needed one way or the other brother. Stay blessed Smalls! 💯🙏🏼
@@choicemas this my first gig at flatbed. I was told the same thing. Need 14 chains ⛓️. But I only have 10 chains. But you just showed me how to get around this. Thanks for the information.
Same binders on the front as are on the end. Have to figure out what these binders are called. I forgot lol. I like using them though. I always like to experiment with different tools to see what works and what doesn’t. The goal is to work smarter not harder right? 👊💯🙏
@choicemas smart! I doubled up on the question asking on a more recent video. Appreciate you! I need to get some. Can you shoot the info of who made them?
Highland Welding in Peekskill New York. You will need to draw up what it is you want and then bring the trailer to them so they can take the measurements of your stake pockets, rub rails, and whatever other measurements that cater to what it is you want. I drew it up. Took the idea and the drawings to my guy. He asked me to bring him my trailer so he could get the most accurate specs and we could talk through exactly what it was I wanted. I’d suggest you do the same. Trailers, run rails, stake pockets can all vary depending on the brand of the trailer. Most important is what you personally want to see. Those are the measurements the welder and yourself need to talk through. The other measurements are for the most part, standard.
My Chains are 20ft. 10 is enough in my book but I prefer 5/16 chains. Lighter and easier to work with. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Questions are always welcome. God bless 🙏💯
Yes he does have a pole, and he has a vid about his homemade tools and gadgets to make his job easier/quicker. The strap wrapper is really a neat idea. CHOICE I hope you don't mind me answering this, if so I apologize.
I carry a pile as defunkymonky said. Just in case the shipper doesn’t supply a wile pull or pole. Most of the time they do. But I’ve been caught out there without one in my beginning year, never again. Telescopic poles at Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.
Yeah this on was an easy chain and rock! I will say I will be switching my 3/8’s out for 5/16. Lighter and easier to work with. Peace Ro! Stay fresh! 👊💯🙏
The elephant is awesome, I love those majestic beasts. They are so placid, yet capable of much more if family is threatened. Prayers for your wellmess, peacefulness, and prosperity. Do you look back at your earlier vids and see how you have learned from hiccups, and how much you have improved?
I got mine from Tri-State Canvas and Tarp in St. Louis. Good guys down there. Appreciate you Jesus, as always my friend. Drive safe. Hit me up sometime. 👊💯🙏
Cory, Peace bro! One could substitute chains for straps as well. All good. It’s easy to tell us what we need to do and they’re not the one’s doing the work. My guy, stay fresh! 👊💯🙏
I’m amazed at how much mathematical calculations and logic go into securing flatbed loads. You all deserve more recognition.
Thanks Laura! Appreciate that!
Although it is simple mathematics, there's quite a bit of small details that have to be considered/factored in that add up to big details.

Bro what do you call the bulkhead holder sleeves? Trying not to waste chains when I need to build one.
I call it a mobile bulkhead or adjustable bulkhead. Not sure what it’s called, as I had them made.

Thanks for the video I always learn a lot from you.
Can I ask how long are your chains?
I bought 10 chains 3/8 grade 7 and they’re 20’ footers.

How did you get the chains through the reels? You got a pole to feed through?
I have the same question everytime I see that load going down the road.
