This simple stitch shows just how beautiful it can be made into by using variegated yarn. So pretty! Awesome job!
What a beautiful stitch! The yarn is good. You are a good teacher, easy to follow. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful. Thanks your so easy to follow
Beautiful! ❤
I found two balls of this yarn at my local yarn shop as part of a factory clearance. They were unlabled other than the composition of the yarn. 73% SW Wool, 24% Polyamide, 3% Metallic 100g 370m. I wish I knew where to get some more! I am making a flower motief shawl as per the tutorial on Hooked by Robin page called "How to Crochet the Fan Lace Scarf". It's looking really pretty. I just hope it will be done by Christmas 😂😂😂
I look forward to making this pattern with the second ball. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Beautiful stitch and yarn!! Thank you for sharing with us!!

What color is the yarn ? I would love to make my 99 year old mom a hat for Christmas.
Love the yarn and stitch ❤. Great tutorial 🎉😊
Thank you so much 😊
beautiful yarn and lovely stitch, thank you.
Most welcome.
What brand is the yarn please. I love the colors
If you changed the "ply" if this yarn I wonder if you could make this stitch into a blanket? I love this pattern but woukd like the holes smaller, any suggestions?
Try a different stitch, then.
I don’t know how long you started crocheting. You can change size yarn and recommend crochet hook. For example, I used #4 worsted weight yarn and 5.5 mm hook.

Sounds a bit harsh for no reason.

@user-hb6vr3jp1o : I agree with the hole thing.. I kind of have a “Hole-phobia”😂 even traditional granny square stitch bother me because of the holes😆.
So here what I normally do with patterns I like with HOLES that larger than I care for.
Take the pattern stitch cut into almost 1/2 or one less than shown.
Must make a swatch to figure it correctly or will need to tweak the first and last stitches: example adding HDC in the first a last stitch.
Example: this is Foundation 3,3,3++ ( you might need to use 2,2,2++ ),
Rw1:skip 3 [I did 2], DC to end. [I did using 30 chains, skip3, accidentally used HDC to end], ch4 [i ch2], turn.
Rw2: *skip 2 DC [I did skp1 DC], inside this loop ch5.- holding 1loop on hook for each ch, there will be 5 loops on the hook ch through all 5 loops. Skip 2 DC in 3rd chain[ I skp1], *{this is the repeat until the end of the row.} ch 4 [I did 2] Turn.
Rw3: first chain from hook does not count *skip 2 [I did 1skip] DC, 5 chain loop repeat from Rw1.
Repeat Rw1 until desired length.
I used Red Heart wrsed weight 4 with G/5-4.25 . Mind you you will have holes, they will be closer or smaller and the 5 loop cluster puff will be stiffer, bulkier, You might try doing 3-4 loops instead. As well if the holes are still to big try doing this pattern by single chain instead of doubles. new row ch1 turn, sc in first chain near the ch1, skip 1 sc, in the same loop of sc 3-4 loops instead of 5, sc in last stitch ch1 turn. Repeat sc, skip 1, sc -in the loop/ hole of this sc *ch 3-4 loops, sc last stitch. I did Rw1 as doubles, then finished the blanket sample with Doubles, squaring off with border of singles , rw2 doubles.
Mind you, your tension will play a big part of the holes and tightness, I found I had to stretch it slightly to open it up as I went using the single stitches. I didn’t want a washcloth like blanket.
Anyways I hope these ideas help you tweak your design for this stitch. Just remember have fun, be creative, Good luck on your project..
Interesting stitch. Little to open for me personally, but your instructions were very easy to follow. I assume the last row would be all dc again?
Where did you get this yarn? Beautiful. Mexican colors. Thanking in advance. ❤😅
What ply is the yarn and size of hook thank you, this is a pretty stitch.
Yarn + 1 Sparkle Omega Baby
Christmas Variegated was the closest i could find online at etsy for the yarns identity. I just did an image search then added "sparkle" and "mexico" because i feel like i saw thats the vids country of origin. Its probaby discontinued.
You could use any wool
Hi, beautiful work! Where can you buy this yarn? Thank you!
I am working with a similar yarn Sugarwheel Sparkle from Hobby Lobby, making a zippered lined wristlet purse. Can this stitch be done in the round?

Where the hell is the LABEL - so we know the WEIGHT of this yarn - and the brand (so we can buy it, ourselves) - and the stitch gauge - and the material (acrylic, cotton, wool, alpaca, bamboo, a blend, etc.). Watching your hands "massage" the yarn tells Beginners precisely NOTHING !!! SHOW THE LABEL !!!
PS - This stitch is called "Drunken Granny" - for those of you who might want to find it on Pinterest - or any other tutorial site that provides the Label info . . .
I don’t like working with that kind of yarn.
You can use any kind of yarn
Pretty, but not good instructions
Yeah, that’s okay, I don’t crochet anyway. 😁
