I agree with you about putting your bags on the floor in the toilets, besides germs if there is a gap around the bottom of the cubicle someone could reach under and steal your bag. Hope you and your daughter have a lovely time back at your mums. Thanks Alex.
Thanks for posting this Alex, we travelled back from Palma for our journey back to Sydney on Sunday 30th June. BA can you lord our flight, seems they have been the worst so far and it’s only early summer! Was so good to have seen your video, we made our way directly to terminal A and got good and drinks there. The toilets by gates A10 were disgusting! Keep up the informative videos and we already miss Puerto Pollensa, after 3 amazing weeks - and being back in a cold Sydney ! ❤
Hey Lucy - fantastic that you’ve been over from Sydney !! I hear it’s chilly there. So many complaints about the loos in terminal A and I’m awaiting feedback from the airport. Come back soon !
Very useful video thanks Alex. We flew home to Belfast from gate 2 in June . Very few seats and no drink/snack machines. Hopefully will be better next time. 🤞
Enjoy your trip to England. Your posts are so helpful. We are in Puerto Pollensa at the moment and for information there is a bit of light work on buildings by Hobby Club and Hoposa Pollentia. No sign of subbed but many are still using the beach at Plaja Tamearells.
Just flew home today from Palma airport to Leeds. Had no issues, thought the airport was alot more quiet than when we came last August. Was with Jet2, couldn't believe how quick the whole process was.
we are at the Whalaisebella Santa Ponsa . lovely quiet hotel and will return hopefully September. Our arrival at Palma airport was very smooth and easy , did notice more food outlets etc in Terminal A .Enjoy the UK Alex
Thanks for the video I will be coming back to East midlands next year after our holiday so I'll head to Terminal A look at board and head to my gate number. Think iv got that😮
I always go for a window seat on a plane as there's so many amazing views.I remember flying from Rio de Janiro to Madrid and after lights out on the long over night flight I could see the constellation Scorpius hanging in the sky somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
We travelled home 3 weeks ago as a family of 11 and found the experience overall very easy, please be aware that if you are travelling as a group with kids, parents and grandparents, those with children do get separated at passport control as its only over 18s who can use the electronic checks. Not a big deal but something to be aware of.
@@debzvill1 Yes they stayed with their parents and went through one section and me, my husband and adult son & partner (no children) went through the electronic bit. Coming in to Majorca, they got through quicker, coming home we was quicker!
We travelled home today. When we got to terminal A my wife used the ladies near to gate 21.Two toilets out of use no soap or tissue and 2 dryers not working.Just before we boarded at gate 17 she went to the toilets near it and turned straight around and came out it was in that bad a state.
Must admit for an airport of that size and everything else being spot on in terms of security, check in etc thought the toilets were awful, door locks missing, no toilet roll, and not very clean at all... still love Majorca and come back at least once a year. Keep up the informative videos Alex, helps a lot of people 👍🏻
I commented on a previous video arrival for families through passport control was horrendous last Saturday afternoon. The queue management was farcical and one person stamping passports. Took 45 minutes for my wife and our two boys to get through. I went through the electronic gates as I had an expensive bicycle to collect. At the electronic gates were three guys sitting twiddling their thumbs why two weren’t assigned to the families control to help relieve the queues is beyond me.
Hi, not sure if my comments will be picked up so late after the video was posted, but need to comment on our experience of Palma airport having travelled in on June 22nd and out again on July 6th. We have been travelling to Mallorca, as a family on holiday for the past 10 years. Over the past 2-3 years the airport has gotten worse and worse. What is getting worse - 1. Passport control checks. When we arrived, mid day on June 22nd, there seemed to be about 4-5 other aircraft arriving so the entrance to the passport control area at arrivals was absolutely packed!!!! It took us 1 hour approx to pass through the passport control area and the reason for this was that there were 2 PEOPLE checking passports for ALL these arriving flights. This is not the first time this has happened but this was the worst arrival experience so far. There are plenty of new automatic passport gates but these can not be used by families with young children, which was the majority of people in the hour long queue. I thought this was a blip on arrival, but the same thing happened after check-in on departure, again 2 passport control officers where available to check more than 200+ people on departure. This is all the more aggravating when there are 10-11-12 shiny new empty passport control booths visible to queuing crowd. For an airport of the size and throughput of Palma this is totally unacceptable and is getting worse year on year. It will influence us, as a family considering going again next year as each year has gotten progressively worse. 2. The facilities for dining and sitting once you get through security on departure is appalling. The scene inside the food hall is chaotic, with various food providers dishing out food with little capacity anywhere to actually sit and eat. There are acres of shiny new shops to spend your money in but a paltry small area to actually sit and eat. I witnessed more than one angry dispute between travelers as a result. Again for an airport the size and with the throughput of Palma this is totally criminal!!! Once you pass this area there are literally acres of corridors and walkways where i would suggest you take your food to eat - but you will need to sit on the floor as again there is NO seating. In closing I want to make it clear I have visited many other international airports and none of them are fantastic, but Palma really is falling down on the absolute basics and it is wearing thin now year after year.
It doesn't look like there's any numbers to follow, just big open spaces with no arrows or numbers to guide you to your gate, how is anyone supposed to know witch way to go?
We went through Palma airport last week for a 2am flight. It was baking hot. They took our water off us. The water machines stole our money. And there were no drinking water taps. We got dehydrated on top of exhausted & were wiped out for days afterwards.
HI! Are you able to measure the Transavia bag sizer at Palma? My carry on (not the "personal item", but the larger one that they allow to carry on) is slightly wider than their official sizes, but I know the actual bag sizers are usually a little bit larger.
We flew back on 6 June and required special assistance. It was a shambles. We were eventually put through to Gate A5 (if I remember correctly) and there was nothing there. There was toilets at the far end. 🐸Think the vending machines were empty. The builders were constructing what looked to be a small cafe with tables and bar stools outside. Maybe when we return in September things will have improved 🤞🏻
When we speak of our ease with digital ..i get alittle worried, regarding the idea we will sleep walk into digital slavery, credit score etc etc... lol Otherwise,,thanks for the update and video ,,,your videos are always very helpful , and you seem such a nice person. :)
So they updated terminal A, but still stairs down to negotiate, rather than a tunnel , at the gate and more stairs into the aircraft…great fun should it rain. ( not)
Why don’t people check in online with their flight carrier, avoids all that queuing at the desks. Have boarding pass printed out by them and sent to you, or use the QR code on your phone. ( and hand luggage only saves even more time )
@@wideawakerealist2141 we do check in online but still have to queue as we have hold luggage, no way could we fit 2 weeks of clothes etc in hand luggage only.

2 weeks ago we came back from Majorca, beautiful island we are already planning our next vacation.😀However I have to admit that if I was a resident of this island I would also go on strike, 🤦♀️lots of tourists who do not respect anyone and anything and the airport leaves much to be desired, what happened in the evenings when we arrived was a shock, I have never seen so many drunk young people, in front of the airport there were broken bottles on the street, beer cans and cigarette butts.
