I told my college roommate about this and he responded in a rather unexpected way when I was explaining the whole Bio-fusion premise. He said "So the Thomas engines are a bunch of Borg then." Me personally I sort of have a love hate relationship with Shed 17. For more or less the same reasons you elaborate on. To give credit where needed I cannot deny that the idea was brilliantly clever but the way it was executed left me in a state of shock and disturbance over what I had just seen for quite some time. As you said I did laugh at the part with Edward's whistle but what happened to Thomas at the end, need I say more.
Kanefan701 have you ever heard of chaochao0071?! He’s a UA-camr who’s making a series about htf & the creepy pastas! If you haven’t seen him, I bet you can make him let Timothy the ghost train be part of his next series!
I saw this video the other day and honestly the movie is a masterpiece the whole plot is fantastic it scared me even during class i had the image thomas breaking from the boiler and the scream was in my head during school . Good review dude and i love your videos keep up the work man.
Commonwealth Conqueror I well I am lucky... I enjoyed the rest but that ending.... where Thomas finds out who he was and what he wasn't.... I caught a horror image of what would happen....and from there I avoided it... but I did hear the part where Thomas screams out "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I thought of Darth Vader's line....
God, for me the worst part was Gordon first he’s my favorite Thomas character and second GOD THAT GORDON SCENE WAS TERRIFYING But I still don’t understand why he blew up
Thank you for mentioning me mate. Yes its' true that my version of Timothy is much better than the original creepypasta one and has a more in depth to who he is and how I saw him and the popularity of it has really boosted up.
i never watched shed 17 but i have a onther explanation for why trains have faces, W Awdry told on a interview that when he draw edward henry and gordon on there smokeboxes there was a blank space and for fun he decided to put faces on it.
he also got the idea from when he was a child, he saw trains in the yard or at the station and he imagined that they were talking to each other or driver/firemen
What a fun way to re-experience traumatic memories! :D Also, if anyone wants to think of this not happening, think of it as part of another universe. Like Family Guy and The Multiverse. Or Sonic’s multiverse. Or any multiverse for that matter, I think you get the idea XD
+RayMKlll If you feel that way then I strongly agree with your decision not to watch it. It is extremely intense and disturbing, and its really only for people who don't mind that stuff.
It’s really not scary (this is from a horror movie hater) its basically a mockumentery about science ethics and nazis and how they play into the ‘origins’ of Thomas And Friends (there are a few jump scares though) its the sequel that scarred me (Project G-1) the saddest thing about it is that I have a terrible feeling that if TTTE existed in real life, Shed 17 would be truth
BAHAHAHAHAHA! I just watched the video and came back here again to comment. My god it's hilarious! I must say that I think the author/creator probably needs therapy but it had me in stitches from start to finish. It's like a Halloween B-movie.
I first watched this when I was a little kid and didn't know what was going on, the only part of the video I remembered that I kept in the back of my mind was the ending and I've tried to find the video over 1 - 2 years and I found it and holy sh*t, it was a gore fest and I was 9 or 10 and was traumatized, and almost got nightmares about it.
Basically, consider it an incredible, black comedy. If you are wondering what it is, a black comedy is a form of comedy that heavily involves disturbing, and even intense themes like rape and genocide. I'll be honest with you, the final scene really just made me nearly cry. And to be fair, I think the engines' faces are the result of fantasy magic, not science or anything.
+Connor Flaherty Yeah, that is my thought on it too. Besides, if this messed up theory was true.... then how do the living coaches and trucks exist? It's impossible, and never mentioned in the story.
+Connor Flaherty In my view a black comedy would be something like a 9/11 joke or getting rid of a crying baby by putting him in a blender, something that is supposed to get a shock but done for humor. This is more just a extreme gore fest meant to disturb people. However, since the gore is way over the top I guess it could sort of be a black comedy. But I think it's just a messed up parody XD
Thank god! someone know sees shed 17 for what its worth! Brilliant. Who gives a damn that its scary "Boo hoo my childhood is ruined boo hoo" The sawdust, The lost footage, the fact that it is NOT made in trainz, its brilliant from top to bottom!
I actually first watched it on the creator's official website. I was, perhaps, sixteen, so I definitely wasn't the demographic. I was freaked out, literally covered my eyes in one or two scenes, but I thoroughly enjoyed the extensive lengths that the creator took to make it believable, sure, something like this would be impossible in real life, bio-technology to that extent is prohibited by most laws and I find it quite unlikely something like this would've passed, even in that timeframe. But as a standalone project, with a sequel that came years after, Shed 17 is one of those screwed up concepts that intrigues, frightens, and makes you question Sodor as a harmonious place, more so, when you really think about it. Why do the engines have a face? Some would say to enlighten kids, perhaps to make them more marketable, but that still doesn't answer the question, why, why in-universe, would a locomotive have a face? The limitations of such an idea are endless, there's no wrong way to look at it. Whether it's through the scope of it being based on a child's imagination, how the universe simply functions and has always been, or even, a horrific bio-technological revelation, as examined, in what I can only describe as one of the best, if not, THE BEST, adaptions of the classic series we've come to love, quite a messed up, but morbidly delightful mockumentary. Sure, does it have its faults? I think the gore is played a little too often but granted, it doesn't detract from the overall appeal, if anything, embracing it was what made it have its own identity. An identity that is synonymous with the end result. The music is dreary, paints an image of despair, and hell, I'd say the humor fits well, especially the little parts with Keith vomming on national television, that had me in shits and giggles, despite the horrific absurdity of Edward's whistle spewing blood and that massive explosion with Gordon, like damn, I was literally gripping my sheets, It was badass and really Oscar-worthy with how grim it was, very well-orchestrated scene, and Henry's "Crewe" scene still haunts me whenever I see The Flying Kipper. It was a welcomed part of my macabre interests and I can't thank Paul enough for its existence. Overall, while it may be shocking for some viewers, it wasn't necessarily intended for younger fans, it was a nice little surprise to the over scope of nostalgic fans present in a slowly dwindling but still strong fanbase. I've been a fan for many years, every year bringing more good, but mostly bad, surprises to the table. I especially don't like the direction S25 is going in, but overall, Its a guaranteed stamp of approval from me. I don't tend to be frightened by most content, but dang, does it deliver. My score is: 10/10 (Minor gripes in some spots, but regardless, Its atmospheric, its iconic and I can't wait to see what Paul brings out next)
You are so sick and twisted! In my world that's a compliment! I would have to consider us acquainted! 10/10! I just love your accents in this video. LMFAO! 😂
This warned me of horrors. you saved my childhood. thank you, for without this i'd have just stumbled across shed 17 and been scarred. I owe you so much for this. thank you.
Here is my idea for how Thomas ad the Breakdown train could have been incorporated. Basically, the black James and today's red James were two engines. The black James met his demise when the brake blocks being on fire got to his organs and burned him inside out.
I have seen Shed 17 in 2018 and I thought it was OK, well, don't get me wrong, it is disturbing, but I did have laughs at some moments found funny like The Fat Controller swearing like "Hey you, get off my fucking platform!" It does not scare me as much as the... online video game I would never mention due to the fact of the fucking torture of a picture of an ugly fucked up zombie girl. So I can consider Shed 17 average, it's not horrible, although, I don't think the deaths are as good as the idea itself, though, Edward's death was really hilarious, Gordon's was really disturbing in my opinion, Thomas's death is pretty ear piercing and shocking in my opinion (yes everyone will kill me and start a riot just for saying something that is an opinion, I had to), Percy's death was pretty nuts, I don't know how he died. Mavis went like KA-BOOOOOOM! and I do feel bad for her, but I found myself saying it is completely a really realistic death, Henry's death (whilst non canon since all of Shed 17 as a whole is non canon) was pretty much shocking but did seem like Crewe is a scary place for him after all, and I don't know what on Earth happened with James, maybe he was overheated and later known dead, or I don't know. I do not hate Shed 17 or like it as a whole, I thought it was just OK, I am not saying it is horrible, I am saying it is okay at average, but what I do like about it is that it's perfect for Halloween. So I know a lot of die hard fans would despise me for this, but I don't have any hatred on Shed 17. Yes it is disturbing and scary, but it does not scare me as much as I thought, I think it's the gore is what gets everyone.
You mentioned me :D omg lol but yea it is good just for mature people thou who understand it's more creepy then for kids and they shouldn't watch so yea :) thanks for seeing if
Huh, first comment. That's a new one for me. Anyways, I just somehow knew you'd review this 'thing'. And I did kinda enjoy it, thought it took A LONG TIME to get it out of my head. Mostly the screaming and that one scene. You should review Tobias and the Half-Pariah, that's a very good fan film too.
you may think im evil, but I show'd my sister, who used to love thomas the tank engine this film. but anyways, I loved this fan film so much, I have a reaction video of one of the scenes on my channel. (by the ways, Velham's last name is pronounced Gertzun)
0:43 I've always conceptualized Shed 17 as this weird amalgamation of Thomas and the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion since there are many parallels between the two. [Major Spoilers!] The Fat Controller/Sir Toppam Hat shares many similarities with main antagonist Gendo Ikari. Both are ruthless in the pursuit of their respective missions with little regard for the potential consequences of their actions or humanity in general. Both involve the fusion of life and machinery as the Evangelions are only robots in the dictionary sense of doing work for humans. In reality, they're clones of the very beasts (known as angels) that we see the pilots of NERV fight. Both involve government organizations and scientific research above the law with NERV having supreme authority over Japan as a UN Agency. And SEELE being the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Their true intentions have nothing to do with protecting humanity from the Angel Threat but varying degrees of either eradicating humanity or wiping the slate clean for humanity. Lastly, and most importantly, Thomas's arc is nearly identical to that of the character Rei Ayanami. Rei is the first pilot at NERV prior to protagonist Shinji's arrival who we see is injured. However, it's later revealed she wasn't injured. Like Thomas, she's a series of clones, ready to be dispatched in case one of the clones dies. Whenever a clone dies, her conscious and memories are transferred to the new clone and her injuries are faked to make it seem she miraculously survives every seemingly fatal event. This is especially true in 3.33 when she sees another clone of herself for the first time and suffers an existential crisis like Thomas does in Shed 17 (albeit without having to be put down). And like Thomas, she has a human basis with Shinji's mom Yui Ikari. However, she's still technically alive as the soul of Evangelion Unit-01. Her goal was to serve as evidence of humanity's existence to the universe, albeit at the cost of mentally scaring her son who witnessed her "death" and last remembers her smiling which everyone denies to him.
+Jaceblue04 I don't think I'd call it that. A creepypasta is a "real life event" made to be ambiguous and disputed, even if it is nonsense. Since it's already well established that Thomas doesn't exist, I think this is just a messed up parody. I can see why you think that though.
+Jaceblue04 Ok what I meant is creepypastas are made to look like they're real life (of course they aren't real XD). I guess this could be a creepypasta, but again I think it's just a messed up parody.
Jaceblue04 this may be a creepypasta idea, but it shows why engines got there faces. Now how shed 17 is made I think it's not really a creepypasta at all because of how it's done, there is a lot of extra stuff between the deaths. I think it's s crossover of a documentary and a creepypasta, and if you look at other ones they are sort of real life until you get to Timothy and Thomas And The Children where it's creepy.
Freakin awesome I love shed 17 and can't wait for G-1 also my favourite part was Hitlers appearance also Thomas' death I knew it was coming but when the train hit him it scared me half to death despite the fact that I knew it was coming but it was so sudden I just didn't see it coming Also if all the people are made of wood then why do the engines bleed
I had nightmares after watching shed 17 but I keep watching it because its simply the best horror thomas I've ever seen. Very cleverly written. I thought the Roly The Coach series by Paul was also very funny.
I couldn't even finish watching it. My limits were beyoned broken. I did not sleep at all on the night I watched it. I was awake for the entire next day because I had a family outing. I was mentally shaken, but I got over it eventually. I won't be watching that again that's for sure.
Many thanks. Most appreciated. And you recognised the train horn. Thomas fans don't miss anything!

Yea
the way the train appeared out of no where hitting Thomas made me jump the first time i saw shed 17, i'll admit.

I have seen it... but lucky for me I avoided the ultimate horror part where Thomas found out who he was....

***** Well, according Paul Vids, when Thomas found out who he was, he was traumatised by what he was, a freak clone
Your impressions are spot on you could re dub the entire video of shed 17 and you could barely tell the difference
This is the most violent thomas production in the whole fandom.
The picture shown in the video is my reaction to shed 17. I was so horrified that I stopped it halfway. I cried myself to sleep that night.
Btw the train that hit thomas (human form) was a class 33/1. I think.
I know. I finished the video and sat on my bed, feeling like I was dead inside for the rest of the day. That scene with Gordon still haunts me...

Oh hey how are you doing

I feel like it would be a perfect thing that kane could help with

Pyrrhic Victory where is the death of Edward and James shown? I've seen pics of it but I've never seen the actual scene
IKR
Gordon’s is by far the worst.
you may think im evil, but I show'd my sister, who used to love thomas the tank engine this film. but anyways, I loved this fan film so much, I have a reaction video of one of the scenes on my channel. (by the ways, Velham's last name is pronounced Gertzun)
Sound effect when Thomas gets hit was from video

"There won't be anything like it ever again" Sodor Fallout: Hold my beer.
Nah sodor fallout got nothing on shed 17

Good luck sleeping
that channel icon is making me happy
0:43 I've always conceptualized Shed 17 as this weird amalgamation of Thomas and the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion since there are many parallels between the two. [Major Spoilers!]
The Fat Controller/Sir Toppam Hat shares many similarities with main antagonist Gendo Ikari.
I would assume it's a creepypasta. It certainly feels like one.
+Jaceblue04 I don't think I'd call it that. A creepypasta is a "real life event" made to be ambiguous and disputed, even if it is nonsense. Since it's already well established that Thomas doesn't exist, I think this is just a messed up parody. I can see why you think that though.
+Thomas1Edward2Henry3 "creepypastas are real-life events..." No they aren't.
+Jaceblue04 Ok what I meant is creepypastas are made to look like they're real life (of course they aren't real XD). I guess this could be a creepypasta, but again I think it's just a messed up parody.
Thomas1Edward2Henry3 To each his own.
I have no words especially the ending.
Freakin awesome I love shed 17 and can't wait for G-1 also my favourite part was Hitlers appearance also Thomas' death I knew it was coming but when the train hit him it scared me half to death despite the fact that I knew it was coming but it was so sudden I just didn't see it coming
Also if all the people are made of wood then why do the engines bleed
I had nightmares after watching shed 17 but I keep watching it because its simply the best horror thomas I've ever seen. Very cleverly written. I thought the Roly The Coach series by Paul was also very funny.
Shed 17 was really weird. Seriously this was one of the weirdest fan-made videos I've ever seen.
Where's the o face sound
