It's a pleasure to watch these videos takes me back to young boy time. Neighbors worked together as a team to get each other's silage cut. Was wagons to begin with then pulled farm truck back wards then dump wagons to semis lived it all and always liked it as the combine harvest as well.
I’m amazed at the size of these dairy units in the US. I was brought up and worked on the family 80 cow dairy unit in the UK until I was 24. Great videos you publish Mike and thank you for a look into the impressive US dairy industry.
Yes, I did notice those birds. Great stuff, as always, and I do love these corn silage things. As the year draws to an end one reflects on things past, and I remember when you passed 1000 subs about a couple of months after I started watching you. Hope you and your family have a safe and great forthcoming 2019.
cracking video Mike our contractor in ayrshire Scotland reckons the 970 class best on planet at minute and he's run quite a few different ones over the years!!!!!
Beautiful video. I get a big smile on my face when I see and hear all the machines. I was wondering about the forage harvesters spout. They can recognize the trailer automatically? How does it work? A big thankyou to you for all the work you put in to make these awsome videos.
We had a freak accident first year we helped out cutter was running the truck along side cutter and corn stalk caught quick drain valve on oil pan drained oil out but caught it in time very lucky to have seen it before engine was wrecked. After that we learned to tie the lever on the valve with a plastic tie
Our neighbor runs a John Deere 7980 ad he likes it and they chop a lot of corn with it and plus it's got big huge flotation duals on it and they get their some tractor Central in Wisconsin here by Ellsworth Wisconsin
Watching the drone footage I noticed quite a bit of over shoot from the Class harvester. And not near as much with the Deere harvester. Then ground shots directly from behind with more bounce in the offload auger on the Claas than the Deere. Is it the shoot, suspension, tire size and inflation? Or some or all of above.
Looks like the Claus moves faster than Deere. Deere has two extra rows but it appears a ten row head may actually be better. Claus makes a mean machine.
As always, great video from Mike! Does anybody knows what is that white thing on tarp covering old silage, with tires? Is that just a color of tarp or something else? If it was winter, I would assume it is a snow.
Awesome farm and video. How to they decide which chopper to run trucks with and which one to run wagons with? This video deserves way more views by the way.
I wonder why they wouldnt upgrade the header on the claas. I know for sure that the claas has more horsepower and it has a better drive system. I believe they can go to a twelve or sixteen row header(pushing it) and still maintain speeda
chunkmen Theres No such thing as a 16 row silage head. Claas makes a 6, 8. 10 and 12 row. I’d pick the 10 row for a 970 any day. The 12 row is 35 grand more than the 10. Rather drive 20% faster, you’ll do the same T/hour and these guys most likely get paid by the ton. So money the their pocket really. On top of that, your travel speed with 12 row goes from 40km/hour to 25 due to the wait of the header.
The new Deere choppers have the new technology to set up on the trucks and the chopper operator controls the truck and they are self loading... there’s a few videos out there of an eight year old running his dad’s chopper and it doesn’t have the technology I just spoke of... It’s something watch an eight year old running an almost million dollar machine!
Hello Mike. Question, watching these combines in the way they cut the corn stocks swirling around the way they do. It's almost hypnotic. Does it have any effect on the driver watching that all day? I don't know much about farming... All I know is what I learned from the Mike Bloomsburg School of Farming.
The Claas is going faster but has a smaller head,it also has more horsepower than the John Deere. The John Deere is going a bit slower, has a larger head, and has less horsepower. Claas makes a good machine but I have to go with John Deere here. But I'm a New Holland fan myself. I see a lot of them up here in Wisconsin.
Any idea how many head they milk? Here in Michigan Dairy farms are closing fast. They better be diversified In there income sources as its hard to make money selling milk.
Hello have a good day mister Mike!I've got one question to you. Those big trucks which are loaded by the corn chopper, how many cubic meter of chopped corn are able to carry? My estimation is about 100 cubic meter, but of course I suppose you know something more about that!Thank you for your attention, and I hope,I will get your answer soon from you.Furthermore I wish you have a good day from Hungary!
ran both Deere and claas and claas by far is better. and k&l is a very good dealer worked with them when I worked at my previous job now we deal with burnips.
Mike, that Claas looks to me that it outclassed that JD, it sounds like it is hardly being pushed and it has power to spare, one mean machine. Your intro of the dairy looked like a catering hall, but I guess if your a cow you'ld have your wedding there. Worked a summer on a family farm, 40 girls, tail to tail in the barn, I was the master of the pitch fork & shovel.
I'm glad I finally looked up how these industrial sized lawn mowers work. Pretty nifty toys. Which is better? Don't know, don't use them but they all are using the same basic technology. Who makes a more reliable package I guess is what experience would tell. I did hear elsewhere that John Deere is being called under fire for keeping their software near and deer to their hearts. And after telling farmers they would release the information on their equipment so they could service their own equipment or through third parties, they have sandbagged. So whoever is best, John Deere gets a no vote of confidence for yanking the farmers around. Boo..........
Trucks need stay back more so the chopper driver is working really hard to put weight on drive wheels of the truck so he will not get stuck but every buddy dose it here in California..

We would like to thank you for letting us ride along, y'all are AWESOME thank you...

It’s the same in the uk these days I’m sad to say.
Fantastic video buddy wonderful field and nice work!
Have a wonderful day!
I like the longer videos
Wow mister Mike! This images are amazing!Thank you for your new uploading! Many greetings from Hungary and Happy New Year!
Love these longer videos, thx Mike, keep em coing
Awesome as aways keep coming for the new year right Mike .

I think you hit the nail on the head. It is as much or more the dealer that makes the difference.
Have both Deere and Claas currently, there is a reason the new Deere lineup resembles Claas.

Awesome, Big Equipment , great video

Wow that is sure putting up feed eh. Should be good consistent feed. Thank you and Happy New Year Mike.

Very nice Video Mike...Happy New Year from Germany
We had to resort to tractors and wagons few years ago on account of wet fields know the struggle
I'm gonna vote for the John deere chopper tho the claas is a pretty good unit as well
Our neighbor runs a John Deere 7980 ad he likes it and they chop a lot of corn with it and plus it's got big huge flotation duals on it and they get their some tractor Central in Wisconsin here by Ellsworth Wisconsin
Class is by far easiest to service and gets the job done

Like the videos. Nothing runs like a deere

And I thought the last video i watched was a big dairy. darn man!
Awesome farm and video. How to they decide which chopper to run trucks with and which one to run wagons with? This video deserves way more views by the way.
Thanks and yes I don't know why some of these videos don't get the views.
This farm is on the once know as the ( great scioto March), and was the onion capatial of the world back in early 30's to mid 50's
Thanks for the video! Do you know why a lot of the dairy farms are running Volvo trucks its also nice to see a farm moving away from green gear!

It just makes for some tired eyes after 20 hours a day in a machine

Excellent
John Deere chopper kind of chokes sometimes, the claas seems to pull harder
What kind of camera are you using?
Hardin County, OH....that’s Ada isn’t it?

Go by the ton in US but most can haul 25 ton 50000 lbs bigger trailer's more running with 7 axles
14:45 John Deere but claas is still a great brand
ran both Deere and claas and claas by far is better. and k&l is a very good dealer worked with them when I worked at my previous job now we deal with burnips.
@ 17:50 What was the screeching noise from, and @ 22:30?
Sounds like the power steering belt slipping on the big rig.
Is this silo storage system feasible in the tropics with high rainfall?
Most cover the pile with plastic weighted down with old tires or small bales
Seems as though the head on the Deere is cutting the corn closer to the ground than the clause and that the corn is also drier
Do you know how many head of cattle they have looks like a lot with the big barns.
Krone Big X 880 with Krone head hard to beat.
Mike, what's your drone setup that you are capturing sound?
I need to know the spacing of the corn row
How many head of cattle is this operation 3 or 4 thousand?

Rohrs farm use to chop for that dairy but stopped can you video rohrs farms someday there really good people I use to work for them
timothy jones rohrs chops for they're other farm in Marseilles
Jason Leckrone no they stoped chop last year when I left
I'm glad I finally looked up how these industrial sized lawn mowers work. Pretty nifty toys.

John Deere is great! Solid reliable machines with great resale value
That's unreal with the birds. Yeah is a worry could damage drone
Trucks need stay back more so the chopper driver is working really hard to put weight on drive wheels of the truck so he will not get stuck but every buddy dose it here in California..
Claas all day long
Why dont they fill the semi all the way up?
I know exactly where that farms at I live in Northwest Hardin County my dad and I used to farm just down the road
I live just inside wyandot county near forest. Been by that dairy once.
I take feed to that farm you never leave concrete
@@jasonleckrone2577 wow
Hey mike how acres did they chop
Claas...German Power...
😲👍💖
Nothing runs a deere 830 hp
the front of the silage pile needs work ,,to much fluff so it cave off ,,as a packer man just saying ,not good
