  • In this Biblios review, we place this lightly-themed card game under our scrutiny. Sure, this game is an enduring classic, but are its mechanics too dated and rigid in this day and age?

We have several Dr Finn games. They're all solid. You should try Cosmic Run: Regeneration. Space Yahtzee with alien allies!
The theme does make sense, though it isn't strong. The abbots want to amass the most valuable library. The church cards represent the value of certain types of books going up or down according to the trends sweeping the Christian world as represented by what is being preached for or against from the pulpit.

Thanks Carla, we'll have to give that game a look. I'm always down for a fun sci-fi game.
We'll have to agree to disagree on the theme, though. It might have worked for me if you were strictly trading in books, but they went and made literal people a resource. Plus, you can theoretically win by just having the most supplies and no actual books, so it doesn't quite cut the mustard for me, thematically. Thanks for your thoughts, though. Always glad to hear from you.

To balance out the luck you should play three rounds in a three player game?. For just one round it is a bit too luck driven?
