1:20:30 So this is the gacha system, hence why Zenless Zone Zero is a gacha game. I will try to explain what this system is based on my experience on playing other gacha games.
The word gacha comes from the word "Gacha Machine", which is a machine that gives an item to the buyer but at random, similar to a loot box. People would normally put some coins in (usually between 1-3 coins), spin the wheel and the machine drops an item at RANDOM.
Gacha games usually change the terminology of gacha, for Zenless Zone Zero, the word "Signal Search" is replacing the word gacha. Usually, people who play gacha games call the act of using a gacha as "Pulls". Gacha games usually can do single-pull, where you get a product once, or a multi-pull where you can get 10 products at once with the price ten times higher than a single pull.
Now, Gacha machines has a rarity system to their items or product, the usual rarity system that most gacha games use is "Stars" and ranges between the number 1 to 5, sometimes even 6. The higher the rarity/star is on a product, the more rare/harder it is to get. In Zenless Zone Zero, they are using an alphabetical system for the rarity, From B being the lowest and S being the highest.
In gacha games, there are banners. A Banner features characters where you can try to pull/gacha the character available in said banner, a banner usually features 1-4 sets of characters. Banners are split in to two types: Limited and Regular/Common. Limited banners as the name suggests, are active on a limited time, featuring a certain character which has a higher chance of you getting those characters (that's the whole point of the banner being limited). Like in the video, the banner featuring Ellen is limited for only 90 days. after those 90 days, poof, it's gone until the developers set up a new banner. Meanwhile, the Common banner doesn't have a timer and will always be available featuring already existing characters in the game. Zenless Zone Zero has named their Limited banner as "Exclusive Channel" and their Regular banner as "Stable Channel"
Certain developers sometimes decides that Gacha banners require different currencies for you to spend on them. In Zenless Zone Zero's case, you can only pull on the Exclusive Channel using the currency called an "Encrypted Master Tape". While the Stable Channel uses a currency called a "Master Tape". In most gacha games, you can get these currencies without spending real life money by finishing missions, using a more common currency in the game to purchase these currencies for gacha, from special events like huge updates or anniversaries or from the developers for maintenance compensations.
Remember that Gacha is you getting an item at Random, but the developers have set a percentage amount of chance or "Rate" to get a certain rarity. I've checked the wiki for Zenless Zone Zero ande here are the rates for each rarity:
B rank item has a rate/chance of 90% of you getting it.
A rank item or agent has a rate/chance of 9.4% of you getting it.
S rank item or agent has a rate/chance of 0.6% of you getting it.
(All of these percentages are based on ONE single pull you make from a banner)
Now, you might be thinking that the chance of you getting an agent/character is OUTRAGEOUSLY low, which is true because that's how the game gets you to spend real life money for you to have even more of a CHANCE of getting it, even if you can get the currency to spend on these gacha in game, without spending a dime. I have seen people saving up these currencies and having to wait for a certain banner for MONTHS or even YEARS just to get a certain character that they like just because they don't want to spend real life money.
BUT, most gacha games nowadays have a "Guaranteed System" in place. Limited banners usually will have a special "one time" offer. as seen in the time stamp, if you pull 10 times in the banner, you will be guaranteed to get an A rank item/character in the 10th pull, meaning you have to pull 10 times to get it. And the other offer is what the gacha community calls a "Pity System", where the game takes pity on you. As the writing on the timer mark says, "You will be guaranteed to get an S rank item/character in the 90th pull". Meaning you have to pull 90 times, just for the guarantee.
Please let me know if I got anything wrong or that I missed something. Because I'm explaining all of this from my experience playing gacha games for 5 years know and with the help of the Zenless Zone Zero wiki for some game terminologies. Thanks for reading.

hey man awesome stuff will be watching more, also check out your mail! if youve pre registered you would get some free stuff. also at 1:20:46 it seems that youre confused on how the gacha system works, the gacha system has multiple currencies, i reccomend using all your polychromes on the "encrypted master tape" as those are for the limited time characters, the 2nd currency is the regular "master tape" i dont recommend using your polychromes on this as youll get the master tapes for free from events and stuff plus the banner is a permanent banner so theres no rush in trying to get the banner character. also "polychromes" are the currency needed for gacha, youll get them from completing quests, commissions, and events.
everyone gets the pre register rewards cuz they were rewards for reaching the pre register goal.

I’ve never been hype for a gatcha, but make it a bouncy, 3D adventure game, I couldn’t resist waiting to see it come out. 😅The animations sold me because they were more expressive than how other games handle anime characters models. People who animate 3D anime models usually avoid using squash and stretch to keep the characters looking cute and not “ugly,” for lack of a better word. Here, it’s so wacky and zany that I just love watching it.

You made the right choice, i started off the bat on challenge mode and it feels good and enemys can acutally kill you if you just try to straight up mash it out
I've never played an action game that feels as good as this. The sfx, animation and music go together so good everything feels awesome.

about being overwhelmed, i say don't stress too much about it, the begining of most gacha games generally don't require much know how on the mechanics and stuff, and most gacha games seems hell bent on designing very confusing systems that when translated will just be weapons and gear for stat upgrades.
yeah the gacha system is also designed to be annoying af to understand in general, add that in with zzz's personal style you get a soup of 'idk wtf is going on' with the ui, i'll see if i can simplify it for people
you have 2 gacha consumables, Limited consumable and Standard consumable, you can buy a single consumable for 160 polychrome (weird rainbow paper thingy), polychromes are your main currency for the gacha, you get it from lots of things, its best to save polychrome until you know what you're doing, gacha games try to confuse players into spending them on at the begining on things they don't know they want or not so that when they reach a point where they do understand how things they find out that they're low on the currency and must bring out the credit card lol.
the gacha consumables look like old film reels, rainbow colored ones are limited pulls (the game calls them signal searches to be quirky💅 )and normal colored ones are standard pulls
its best to not pay too much attention on gacha in the begining, if you've got the consumables, use em, if you've got the polychrome i suggest to just save, until you have a better understanding of the gacha to not fall into its pitfalls.
the game gives you 20 limited consumables right now in your ingame mail, you can go check them out if you want.
if anything here is explained poorly tell me, i'll see if i can explain better lol.
now for my opinions on the game based on what i've seen.
seems very fun, slow begining, personally wish it was a bit faster, but it could be good for non gacha players to slowly get used to its systems.
the combat seems very fluid and flashy, but i cant say much until i get my hands on the game.
i really like the music, like REALLY like the music like Damn, i gotta download the whole soundtrack lol, who ever dod the soundtrack deserves a raise.
the story seems nice, tho my tastes are very open when it comes to story, i can read absolute trash if the premise is nice so i cant comment much on it lol.
the tv section seems very limited for now but i can see that later stages might have more complex puzzles and such, heard that endgame stuff has roguelike mode so thats something to look forward to.
like the details in the town, the noodle shop animation was fun, I personally really like them, hope they do more of them.
overall seems great, just a very slow start for me.
I’m only about 20 minutes in so far and take this based on like….7 hours of gameplay straight in a single day that I was able to find this out. But with that R1 switch character thing it also works for L1 but the game never tells you this outright. Like you can also do that in battle and not just in chain attacks. You can also remap some buttons to help you out more if you need to. I’m excited to watch the rest of this X3

The game gets mad easy. I recommend not ranking up any characters. If you run into any difficulty up it lvl up 3-5 levels. (Either equipment or characters).This also helps save resources, which is useful since some of these characters become obsolete the more you get.
Also some people will hate me for saying this. But since it's a mobile game, feel free to skip dialogue that seems to be dragging. These games tend to repeat things or have 5mins of dialogue for something that could of been said in a text box.
The challenge mode isn't really a hard mode (there's an actual hard mode way later and then the endgame modes) from my experience it's just there so you don't get babysit like casual mode
As for the dialogue, honestly that's all for personal preference. Now, this is just an example, but people just don't wanna hear someone bitching about the story when they don't try to learn the story in the first place.
Though I do agree with Hoyo tending to rant on dialogue that could have been squashed down for more show than tell

@@thenurseinblack1810 Care to elaborate on what things I said that weren't true? I only explained how the game can come off as easy (which Hoyoverse games usually are since they tend to cater to casuals to gain a larger demographic) but that there can be challenges to be had later on
As for the other one, I merely explained how story skipping can be viewed negatively if the story skipper in question gets confused later on and blames anything but themselves. And I also emphasized that the "bitching" was a mere example

Considering that you just jumped into my topic and I was only talking about skipping the story in the sense that it drags. Bitching was not the correct word to use and weirdly worded. It really doesn't add or take away from my point. At most it's just making up a completely new point for some reason. Which is irrelevant and confusing, so yes. I do find that you're context of speaking to be confusing ASF.
Started playing too, I don't have a PC nor a PS so I play on my phone (S23 Ultra) and even though my phone is high end this game makes my phone overheat and the battery drain like crazy! I'm still gonna keeo playing it while giving my phone some breaks to cool off and allat, also I don't the longer videos, as another commenter said it makes time pass by faster. I assume that ofc the graphics aren't as good as they'd be on PC/PS, I have graphics and rendering all the way up, and the refresh rate at 60fps, do I notice any drops/lag? Not really if I'm being honest. Yesterday it kicked me out a couple times but I think it's a connection issue since my WiFi been trippin lately, and I use the touch controls, I'm pretty sure I could use my Xbox controller via Bluetooth but I haven't tried it yet

Yes! Although it does display PlayStation buttons since I’m using my PS5 controller 🔥
I recently tried to play it on PS5 and it seems to run fine on there, but my PC can handle more textures and frames so I have been playing that the most thus far, I’ll probably play on PS5 off camera every now and then for grinding or other stuff since it has cross progression too 💯

wise also controls the bangboo with belle in the back as well i think?
