- I absolutely adore this new Abbey doll... but I can't decide if she is better. I hope we get more dolls of Abbey as generation 3 continues as the base doll here has HUGE potential!! I am absolutely in love. Definitely a favorite generation 3 doll for me... what do you think? :)

the candy irl is alled sno-caps and its literaly just chocolate chips rolled in white round sprinkles, loved them as a kid tbh!

Something I recently noticed is that they place the dolls differently in the box. It's pretty weird to me because to me the different heights are a selling feature but you almost can't tell on the shelf. Poor Dracula is floating in her box.😂
if you haven’t heard already the bottom of g3 abbey’s shoes is a reference to g1’s! if you look at the bottom of both you’ll see that they are the same!!
also, something weird is that on g3 abbeys face sculpt her lips ARE very big but her face paint doesn’t reflect it sadly :( i’ve seen a few people repaint it and you can see her big lips and even her underbite way better
i think this is a common issue with g3 dolls in general as i’ve noticed all g3 face sculpts have way bigger lips than what’s printed (including mine 😅)

Now that you mention it, I do see a larger outline for the lips in the video. I will have to see what it looks like in person when I get the doll. I don't mind the smaller lips, but there was definitely more individual character to Abbey with an underbite.

I honestly miss her stronger face shape and pout from G1, but i love her new body shape alot :-) never made sense for yeti’s daughter to be skinny hahah

I really like Abbeys makeup & body type & height. Also love that she has pants. I do wish her hair wasn’t poly and I wish her hair was styled in a way to show off the horns I’m still trying to figure out if there’s a way to do this so far I can’t find a way to get them to actually show up in a photo 🤦🏻♀️🤞. I also wish the top was 2 pieces. Love her pet & all her accessories. She’ll be the 1st that I’ll have a double of I plan to reroot my 2nd I’m thinking of trying darker hair - dark purple to match the eyebrows and maybe a darker color will also allow the horns to actually show 🤞💜💙

You should try switching the Abbey heads to other Abbey bodies. The difference in size might give you some new interesting looks.
I love G3 Abbey - her big selling point for me is her larger body
I think with Abbey, she was a great doll in G1 and they made her even better which is mind blowing. I like her naughties inspired outfit and the contrast of dressing for warmth but also not needing it. Long sleeves but sheer, long pants but split and furry shoes but they are sandles.
She looks great! Shame about the poly though. I'm excited to get her once she hits stores!
I think the platform sandals are there because they were popular in the early 2000s, which would be in line with the rest of her design to my knowledge. Might be more to it than that, but thats what comes to mind.
I really appreciate the longer review ❤ The body build comparison was my favorite part as seeing Abbey side by side other dolls made the similarities and differences super clear! I hope they reuse her body build, as I could see it working well for a superhero character like Wonder Woman or even just more athletic/sporty dolls.
Love I can share RH clothes with her. I like how you display your dolls with playsets or at least in different poses besides just standard standing.

I should have ordered with entertainment earth when you told us about the pre-order a while ago!! I was thinking she would definitely be on shelves by now. Ugh! She is my favorite ever!!! My Target can kick rocks, by the way. They only carry two Creepover dolls.
I am gonna reroot my Abby once I get her. Plus I have been waiting for an Abby doll in G3 since it launched. I'm also thinking of flauking my Abby's shoes.
I prefer g3 abbey, the doll has more Nepali inspired accessories such as the ear pieces which make me so happy as in the doll community there is very little south asian representation
G3 Abby is it for me, she looks like an actually Yeti, and she is gorgeous! The old one look like someone who had a Barbie doll, and just painted it blue, and give it colourful highlights, and her clothes look tacky, and cheap, why are people saying the original is better? They were the same quality as of now!
The one thing keeping me away from Monster High in the past, even when I was starting to get into dolls, was the body sculpt. They all looked like their backs were run over by a truck to me lol. But seeing this new Abbey and Draculaura on store shelves with their fuller and curvier designs, it made me finally take the plunge! Hair quality aside, I'm already having a good time playing with her, thoroughly impressed by her range of articulation (that chest joint in particular is very versatile!) that makes posing a breeze!

I’d love to see her next to a G1 little sister body type or a DC superhero girls doll (they have similar builds to the g3 ghoulies but are quite a bit taller)

I wasn’t a fan of gen1 Abbey doll, 3rd gen Abbey is so gorgeous and unique I had to get her! It’s funny bc I really don’t care for the gen3 MH dolls in general.
my first monster high doll was also an abbey but it was picture day
I wish they kept Abby’s unique face type like her underbite and wide jaw. I love the purple nose and horns tho! Her new body type is fab and suits her character. However, if they’re going to be inclusive with body’s they should be more inclusive with faces too, and in this case I think they just made Abby prettier and similar to the other G3 dolls which I don’t think is very inclusive. I miss all of the white fluff on gen1 too. So it would be cool to add more of gen1 abby to gen3 so it’s a bit more like the OG.
Super cute. I liked G1's hair and outfit but not her face. This one I like all around. The horns are a bonus.

I missed Monster High the first time around because my girls were mostly past dolls at that point. So I was so excited when they announced they were bringing them back and I have been so happy with my ghouls! ❤

I absolutely love gen 3 abbey so much but i do wish she kept the underbite because that was something that gen 1 abbey has. Thats the reason why gen 1 abbey has a bigger bottom lip.
She’s my favourite from G1 so you can imagine my excitement from my local Smiths toys in Scotland. Totally worth the £30

Iv only just got this one. I took those bands at the front out and gave her a high pony tail to show off the horns and ears. I got Lagoona at the same time, I’m new to collecting these and really couldn’t get on with lagoona’s hair. I gave her a big side plat to tame it.

I dont like how they took away her prominent square jaw. It differentiates her from ithers in the original.

Your abbey has great nose blushing most I seen on videos at quite harsh and look like a stamp or splotch of color.

Ill be rebodying my older Abbey head ( the face sculpt and bone structure is way way too good so old head will be going on new Abbey Body...as soon as l can get an Abbey)

I know you don't like manster dolls, but omgggg I was SO AMGRY when I paid a bit a money for the Puma CAM and it didn't come with a torso or upper arms and thighs!! I literally had to use a Vampire CAM set... It was so stupid. Mattel failed there badly

In my experience boiling polypropylene and then using a hair straightener on low heat is safe but I haven’t tried on Abbey at all yet!
I got her yesterday and LOVE her. But her hair is ungodly awful. I haven't thought any of the others (including Clawdeen) were all that bad but Abbey's came out of the box tangled, dry, and awful.

Honestly, Polypropylene hair is killing my interest in Gen 3 dolls. As soon as I hear a new Gen 3 MH doll has poly, it is an absolute pass for me. As a collector who loves styling doll hair upon its arrival, it's an absolute nightmare having to deal with poly hair. I have tried to boil washing it, but it immediately curls on the ends and it's not manageable at all. I truly despise it.
Which dolls has either real hair or great hair for styling in your opinion?
I prefer Gen 1 face....far left. Bigger lips.... prominent features.

She looks way better in G3 than in the original, in the original, she doesn't even look like a monster. People who says the original is better, they are either someone who can't accept changes, and or, the nostalgic, thus think the original is better, when it was the same.
Edited: I never like MH until G3, so yes, I may be bias, but I prefer their new looks.
