Back in the summer of 1979 I drove from Memphis to Rapid City along with a van full of fellow geology undergrads to the South Dakota School of Mines for field camp, and we stopped by Wall Drug along the way. It is fun to see the place is still in operation.

Welcome to South Dakota Adam! I make a point to stop at Wall Drug every time I drive to/from the west. Try Wall Drug plain donuts, they're just like grandma used to make - crunchy, tasty! Drive through Aberdeen, SD on your way home (my home) to see Storybook Land at Wylie Park. It's a small Wizard of Oz themed park, L. Frank Baum (Oz author) lived in Aberdeen for a while. Safe travels in SD!

A blast from my past! As a youngster, every summer we ( six kids and Mom & Dad ) would venture forth from Fort Madison, Iowa to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where we stayed overnight with our Aunt Dorothy a retired, long time English Teacher in Sioux Falls. The next day we would all pile into our 1966 Red and White Ford Station Wagon and cross South Dakota on interstate 90 ending up at Grandma Hildebrand's place in Sturgis, South Dakota in the Black Hills of Western South Dakota, now famous for the annual motorcycle rally. But all the way across South Dakota, we would be getting more and more excited to stop at Wall Drugs after many, many, many signs. Wall Drugs was a much anticipated and always enjoyed rest stop located most of the way across South Dakota from Sioux Falls, just about 70 miles shy of Sturgis. All of us kids were really excited to get there and stretch our legs and run all around the place. Looking at this video, it has just gotten better since then! Thank You Adam the Woo for bringing back a fond childhood memory! BTW if you are looking for a place to crash in any future visits to So Cal just a stones throw from the Back to the Future Mall, we (Isabella and myself) have a comfortable guest bedroom with some good wi-fi, that you are welcome to. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Adam the Woo. Back in 1989 my dad and I drove from east tennessee to Custer State park in SD. We started seeing Wall Drug signs outside Cincinnati. By the time we made it to Wall SD we had to get off and check it out. Much to our surprise we found they are closed at 9 pm. So all I got to do was look thru the window and take a pic on the boardwalk out front. However we did find a great Mexicamerican restaurant across the street. I will visit Wall Drug oneday.
