Whiteford Sands and Whiteford Point Lighthouse is located on the north-western tip of Gower. This is a vast two mile expanse of beach leading out along the edge of the Loughor Estuary. This walk is varied and includes the sand dunes of Whiteford Burrows, that are backed by pine trees. This area is a nature reserve owned by the National Trust.
The decommissioned cast iron lighthouse found at the furthest northern tip of the beach is believed to be the last remaining cast iron lighthouse found in British Isles. The Llanelli Harbour and Burry Navigation Commissioners constructed the lighthouse in 1865 to mark the south side of the channel to the port of Llanelli; it replaced an earlier wooden structure of 1854. The lighthouse remained in use until 1933; more recently the Nature Conservancy Council took up the lease from the Llanelli Harbour Trust.

What an awesome lighthouse! Great shot panning up at it with the gray clouds all around but the blue sky showing through right above the top of the lighthouse! Perfect timing. Thanks for sharing!

Nice one. Like you say some may think "It's just a lighthouse" but things like this are always worth going out and seeing for yourself. Nice video! you would get a cracking photo in the approach with those clouds.

A really good video Kurt, why not invest in to a good mic that you can plug into the gopro, it is very difficult to hear you at the end, the wind was too much, I have learnt a lot from people commenting on my audio in the past on my channel, I got the rode wireless go and it is brilliant I plug it in my phone, gopro, cameras, and anything that takes a mic, I use a lavalier mic I can hide inside my lapel and with a dead cat on it as well I get very little noise pollution from the windiest of days, as I said very interesting videos Kurt, I have subscribed and liked but do invest in good audio m8 it is well worth it for the next level of quality in your videos, I hope you don't mind me saying and good luck for the future, you look like your doing well anyway.
