This is the best vocal warm up I have ever experienced and I've been singing for a half a century. I'm a soprano and recently was having trouble with my high A particularly after a long passage of ascending notes. By the time I got to the A I was screeching. Not anymore. I was always afraid to warm up into my higher range but this was a perfect antidote to my problems. Thank you Dr. Hale.
I especially appreciate the list of exercises, with links to the time each one begins, in the narrative at the top. It gives the ability to jump to specific exercises and/or to repeat an exercise without having to search for it, when it's the one giving me the most help for what I need to work on.
Roger I use this vocal warmup almost daily! It is amazing and has brought my vocals and singing to a new level. I am a vocal and guitar teacher as well as a worship leader. These techniques are truly so helpful in progressing singing ability. Thank you so much. I appreciate the content!
I am a conductor and while I was a full time chorister we were not doing these wonderful exercises. Your videos are helping me a lot as an individual and I can hear changes in my voice without strains, I will definitely pass these to the choire. Thank you so much for your videos I have been lacking in vocal training.
This was a great warmup! I've been singing with fantastic choirs in my area and they do a good warmup, but I don't often reach high C. I was able to with this warmup. Thank you.
It was fun. Thanks, Roger. Using this warmup for the first time, my voice projection and consistency of tonal quality improved significantly. I was recording myself so I had proof of improvement.
Hi! Doc thank you for teaching vocals warm up for free I learn alot how to sing a song so I song high notes because of you I really love the music but my voice so badly because of your teaching everyday I follow you but now i sing my favorite song ❤️❤️❤️ thank so much God bless.. I'm here Phillipines thank you💖💖💖
Grazie Mille. As a former Bel Canto Operatic Tenor, I very mush appreciate your content as not only are you far more making explanations for potential students; you are teaching breath-control in an “automatic” fashion. I’ll bet you your student have much adoration for and to you. If I was still in career, I would hire you even without a thought.
Great (greatest!!!) vocal workout I ever had. Thanks a lot doc Roger! Just my first sesh here and my voice is now fuller and resonant, my belting is not strained, and proper voice placement effortlessly follows the notes I'm singing, just like, wow. Now I'm gearing up to sing the songs I so love but hate to sing for fear of inciting my neighbors to stone my house!
I'm trying your warm up as good as I can on my own. I sang in a choir when I was at college, I don't remember us doing as many types of warm ups as I see on your videos, I find them very helpful as I haven't sang in many years. I have lost control and elasticity, plus since moving to a nordic country I've been plagued with allergies which more often than not make hoarse. However, when feeling good I like to come by and try to remind my body of how to sing. Thank you for your mentoring!
Thank you for creating these videos! They are wonderful warm ups....and I needed this very much. I subscribed last week when I was searching for warm up exercises.
Thank you Mr. Hale I really enjoy your lessons, and I think they make me improve. I hope one day I will have the chance to take a lesson in person. I live in south London. I graduated from London College in classical guitar in 86, But now I m very interestedly in my singing development I sing many songs in Spanish, and some in French, from when I used to entertain for years in restaurants and Pubs. I m very thankfully for your help.
Merci beaucoup. Je débute et vos exercices m'aident à découvrir mes possibilités vocales. Je me sens aussi plus à l'aise pour oser chanter. Encore merci
Another wonderful contribution by the MASTER! My MTSU Vocal Performance Workshop was put through it's paces with your #1 and #2 warmups this past week. They survived!! And thrived. You have 12 new fans. Your University is most fortunate to have you. My group are mainly singer songwriters, ands we employ more than a wee bit of your warmup techniques. Still, going through it "live" watching you really connects with them. Many thanks.
Hi, Mr. Hale. New subscriber here from Philippines. Thank you for this vocal warm up and I will continue to watch & check on your other videos. God bless you.❤
Thank you for your clear and well presented warm-up videos. I have added them to other routines and find them remarkably helpful. I am 79 and started voice training 10 years ago with an excellent trainer. Your videos have extended and refined my voice range and quality. Thank you very much.
@@RogerHale Thanks for your kind reply Roger - You are now a regular and central part of my vocal warm up - skills are internalised by the person who taught them.
Nice warmup doc, this actually helped me hit the whistle notes and my belting became soft and melodious instead of a shrill yell. Please keep making such videos, it’s a great help for singers to reach high notes when they have to and move their voice easily. x
@@arnold4459 You need to check what pitch range you change from your regular chest voice to your head voice in. That will tell you where your passaggio is and that is a great indicator of what range you are. Also what is the lowest note you can sing comfortably with good/full tone?
I shall use this warm up before my singing practice. I have been using your previous one with the choir but will now use this one. Warm ups make singing easier! No point in skipping them - they work! Thank you Dr Hale for your videos
I have found your videos very helpful, Roger, and like that you explain what each exercise does for us. Am recommending your videos to the members of my choir and hope they will find them as beneficial as I do. Thank you for sharing all your techniques with us!
This vocal warm up was pleasant! I have never come across any vocal warm up that's remotely as comfortable as this one I really appreciate the helpful cues which you gave in each of the exercises, namely, when getting to the passaggio, switch to using 'Ng', the tongue placement for lip trills, remaining on the 'eh' vowel if straining at the top, keeping the chin back and head tall etc etc. I also found my tongue tension at the back of my throat has reduced down to virtually zero while following your videos. Really useful stuff! Felt like a breeze which was never the case for me
