Putting icing in between each layer would have taken like a couple minutes to do, but no lets save time and take 30 miniutes to individually place sweets lol 😂
I have never ever heard of anyone not frosting between each layer... Seems like the cake is definitely missing something cause its too much cake to frosting ratio. Idk just seems weird to me.
If you would have put icing in between, that would have also helped with the stability of the cake. Also do a quick crumb coat then freeze (prep obviously) and frost while semi frozen. Even with the “skewers” it was moving a lot. Then when it “thaws” you’ll have a cake that isn’t leaning over.
Christmas Cake in Ireland is a rich fruit cake! Icing/frosting between your layers is essential to hold the cake together, it also tastes better, but definitely adding all of the 'frosting' tubs to a large bowl and mixing together with a little more flavour would make it so much easier to spread and taste better too.
Yes. A fruit Christmas cake made in November and left to mature until Christmas, with a drop off the "good stuff' fed into it now and then 🍾🍷🍾 until it's iced, is definitely the real thing 🎄

I loved your Christmas cake looks yummy Great Job 😊 My Mom use to make me a cake every year and it was heart Shape cake and she always put Cinnamon hearts all over it. Every year because my birthday was a week from valentine's. I was always excited. I loved it.😊
Perhaps a little jam inbetween the layers would have helped with keeping it from leaning. You need to get yourself one of those turntables too, really good when frosting a cake But hey..it looked great all the same, and you have the patience of a saint with that decorating of the outside, Me..I'd just pour those sprinkles over the top 😆😉

I've made candy cakes before with different size layers. I iced and attacked cakes and then each layer I put small candy bars all the way around. The small area where the sizes were different I just poured the M&MS. I didn't have the patience to do one at a time. It was for my kids special birthdays, 8 when they were baptized, 10 for hitting double digits, 13 teenager, 16 and off course 18. Now they just a store bought cakes
It would have been better to have two mixing bows (one for each color) and the add the food coloring while your blending it rather than haphazardly stirring it in the cake pan.
I dont have the patience, you would see a bunch of red M&M and then a row of green M&M then a bunch of red & green and I would call it 4 dimensional because its outside the realm of standard lines😅.
I can assure you as the littles get older it will be easier to bake again . I’m just finding that time again with our youngest being 13 ! The cake is beautiful

You need to put frosting on each layer for the cake to hold together. Who needs that much cake stacked together.
If you put a tsp of vanilla in the frosting and mix it with one beater, the icing spreads and tastes better. Just hold it as you mix it
💯
