The artist with the babys first bay piece hit the nail on the head. I raised two sons and never really had to buy much for little girls. Now my son has a 3yo daughter and I really started to notice the difference between boys and girls toys. Boys get little tool boxes, toy soldier things and other stuff which mimic what they might do for a job later in life. For my grand daughter everything was along the lines of cooking, raising a baby, cleaning the house and looking pretty. If you really look at gender specific toys we teach boys to go to work and girls to be a housewife, all from a very young age. Its nuts

I say some of the horror I have seen on Etsy is this. Someone is making jewelry out of plastic/rubber doll parts. They also made tiny baby dolls into earrings. People love them. I'm horrified. Even more so by the ones that look like baby Hitler.
You have mentioned how scary it is that designers think that these products are a good idea.
Even scarier, is that there are people who supervise those people, went along with the idea and approved these products.

Oh geez, those baby doll arms remind me of this one puzzle a science teacher had us working on during a study hall-type class. The puzzle had clues for each of the NFL teams at that time, can't remember if there were the Titans or Oilers, but it was after they moved. I don't remember many of the clues, but like one was 6 royal men. That was for the Vikings. We got all of them except for one, which we figured out by process of elimination. That clue was 'toy baby arms.'
I loved singamajigs! I got all 8, and learned that as you squeeze them, they can either "talk nonsense", sing "gibberish" or sing one folksong each. Once you know what their personal song is, you squeeze and release in tempo for their song and you can actually hear the words. I had one that sang You are my sunshine, another that sang My Bonnie lies over the ocean. You could get singamajigs that sang the some song, but in another key! It was great fun making them sing together!!

The Sing-ah-mah-gig I swear is haunted! My son had 2 of them,which we still have. Recently it has been making the noises again and singing and the creepiest part is when it says "goodnight"! But here's the thing...they're pretty old and whatever they use for the batteries died a few years ago. So we just kinda put them in a corner in my room away in a box. A few months ago I kept hearing these really low noises,that sounded eerily familiar...I then realized that it was my boys toy but since the batteries had died the voice was lower and slower! I walked over and start recording it LOL! It's been active again for the past few days,and last night when I was just getting into my bed,I hear that creepy f### say "goodnight"! Too much of a coincidence or haunted? It happens quite often and the timing is impeccable. The batteries died WTF!!! That's where I get creeped out! They're cursed I swear and I hate those little dead alive things,and the worst part is that you can't get it to stop because the batteries are dead #1 and I never found a way to open them without ruining them. Just stay away from those little freaky things LOL!

I honestly kind of like the long furbies, they're freakishly gnarly and I respect that the people who decide to make them have the guts to do so in the first place. I also kind of like the frog with teeth, it too has that design that's unsettling enough that someone might find it creepy, but it's gnarly enough that I like the aesthetic of it.
Imagine the poor janitor who has to clean the mouth shaped toilets.

To anybody who ever reads this comment, when I was a kid attending an old friend's Star Wars-themed bday party, my friend's parents had splurged on everything themed Star Wars (decorations, party favors, two cakes that were each shaped as the heads of Darth Vader and Yoda). Some of the gifts for the party guests was this JJB candy stick. Back then, it was candy and to a kid candy = heaven. Today as an adult looking back, it's hilarious remembering the kids I met at my friend's party trying to eat JJB candy tongue. Now, I never "french kissed" JJB for the candy tongue. I broke the plastic jaw and top clean off two days later and ate away when I wanted a candy fix.
