This song is just incredible. It just keeps going and going, and ever evolving into something new. They don't make music like that nowdays.
This is what I always thought the Beatles might have sounded like in the 80’s.
It's an obvious homage to the Beatles.
If you listen to their solo 80s stuff it doesn’t sound anything like this. And this took it’s “Beatle” sound from Sgt Pepper.
Beatles in the 70's = Electric Light Orchestra
Beatles in the 80's = Sowing the Seeds of Love by TFF
Beatles in the 90's = Oasis
@@yetanotherYTuser2 If The Beatles had ever sounded like ELO the thank God they split when they did 🙏🏻
@@normandavidtidiman9918 ELO was a fantastic band. I have no idea what you're trying to get at. John Lennon once said though that ELO is most likely what Beatles would have sounded like if they'd continued into the 70's.
Tears for Fears helped get me through some dark teenage years.
I love Tears For Fears. My favorites are "Head Over Heels" "Pale Shelter" "Everybody Wants To Rule The World"
@Artimus Press 🙂👍
Woman in chains
If anyone could do The Beatles it was Tears for fears, great great band.
Music like this is why I miss the 80's. I'm a metal head, but when I was growing up and a youngin', this was stuff I listened to. Still love Tears to this day.
They are worth diving into and that rabbit hole.
Huge staple of 80s pop! They still sound amazing live! Huge fan!
'Politician granny with your high ideals
Have you no idea how the majority feels?'
How true today!
Thanks for this reaction. I had forgotten how amazing this song is! Hadn't listened to it in years.
The cool thing about this band is that both men are amazing lead singers. They met when they were in high school through a mutual friend. They have a lot of great songs and they still perform in concert today (and still sound amazing). I would recommend checking out 'Head Over Heels', 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' and 'Shout.' Or, if you want a deeper track, The Working Hour.'
Gives me chills. Slow and heavy with a hint of menace and hope.
"Head over Heels" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" are their best songs IMO.
Prefer The Hurting
Those are nice hits with cool beats but I think this is their masterpiece. Of course it’s all personal preference but the depth of this including the sgt pepper’s homage is just over the top genius.
It’s like they’ve shoved every Beatles hook they can think of into one song! I’m not dissing them, it’s a fantastic song both musically & lyrically!
I love this song and band but you are 100 percent correct.
Perfect messages, and everything is current!...Plant the seed of love so that hope is reborn! ...Beautiful
The orchestra in this was awesome
Tears for Fears is one of the most unique groups of the 80's. They had such an original sound.
Woman in chains has to be one of my favorites from Tears for Fears
The song is a throwback to '60s nostalgia (big in the late '80s) with a nod to The Beatles and a kind of Flower Power philosophy to it, including political lyrics starting with "High time we made a stand and shook up the views of the common man" and ending with "An end to need and the politics of greed."
Written by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, the lyrics in this song are a byproduct of Orzabal's interest in psychology and philosophy - he cites Sartre's Les Mains Sales and Arthur Janov's Primal Scream as literary influences. The song is a call to action, asking us to reject the status quo: "High time we made a stand and shook up the views of the common man."
Tears For Fears!! No you’re in my absolute favorite decade of music. Tears for Fears is a great group. Next you should do Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Woman in Chains, Shout, Mad World.
Stay in the 80s for a while and you can’t go wrong.
I love this song by Tears for Fears! It's really deep and spiritual, as shown by the amazing mystical symbolism in the video. Sowing seeds of Christ love. Symbolized by the Sun figure! Namaste! 🙂🌻💛🙏
altho it sounds upbeat this was actually a protest song against the conservative government in the UK at the time. "politician granny with your high ideals you don't know how the majority feels" was a reference to margaret thatcher the prime minister at the time
A song ahead of its time
This song goes hard!
Mad World
Pale Shelter
Shout
Head Over Heels
Woman In Chains
Your observation is spot on, the two singers take lead on different tracks.
I love Pale Shelter. Great song!
Try “Shout” or “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”
"Everybody Wants To Rule The World" is a great song.. ♠W.G.
Gotta love the 80’s
I totally grew up to this, I was only like 10yrs old or so when they came out, and I still love 80’s music today...since you are reacting to the 80’s era, let’s keep it in the 80’s and react to the band (INXS) song (Need you Tonight). Lead singer ended up taking his own life so the band was short lived but they were big then and a very good band live 🤘🏼
I was around when thus song came out but I heard it the first time last year.
Thumbs up
Such a beautiful song!!!
What a GREAT song and a spectical for the eyes!
That song is Epic!
Everybody Wants To Rule The World is their best song.
This is their best song
@@russellm1883 agree....technically brilliant
I always get good vibes from there music and are my no 1. They both sing lead on there songs. You want to listen to Woman in Chains with Oleta Adams who joined them. Fantastic voice she has.
I forgot this song existed and suddenly I am a child again and I'm singing along like I never forgot about it 😅 💜💜💜
HOLA, E SEGUIDO SUS PRIMERAS EXPERIENCIAS CON LA HERMOSA MÚSICA DE LOS 80s,
LOS QUE VIVIMOS ÉSA ÉPOCA SOMOS AFORTUNADOS.
SALUDOS HERMANO, HERMANA DESDE COSTA RICA.
😀👍
Tears for Fears great group.
The song is awesome. Also the video quality, the graphics and the stop motion effects, specially for that time.
Sound track of my generation. Such a classy song
Tears for Fears come from Bath, Somerset England, UK 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
AMAZING song, lyrics, video, harmonies, everything!
this song is a call to reject the status quo, funny how this song make's more sense today......
It's definitely a Beatles-like sound to this song. Especially, "I am The Walrus" by the Beatles on their Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
This song still rocks out
That is one amazing song.
Their album Songs From The Big Chair is a wall to wall classic. All killer and no filler. You definitely need to react to Mad World, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Shout, Head Over Heels and Woman In Chains.
You should give that full album a reaction video. From Woman In Chains thru to Famous Last Words, it is a masterpiece.
Very nice choice….amazing english band!!!!
Cool to see you guys do this one! My suggestion is "We're In This Together" by Nine Inch Nails. A positive theme for the crazy year we've all endured!
I just love love love this song! I’m still waiting to see if you would react to Madonna Papa don’t preach… I think it’s one of her best and the video‘s pretty good, too. You guys are awesome!
Thank you for lifting my spirits!
my best choice for absolute immersion into the fabric of great creations.. is Tears for Fears. Their music and message is second to none. They're subtle and delicious... xo
Love you two!! ❤️❤️❤️
you two are a lot of fun :D ..this is one of my all time favorite songs - have listened to it thousands of times, but this was something new: getting to watch you enjoy it for the first time.. awesome!
Song that gave the name to the TFF album in 89. I still remember me, a young teenager with the LP booklet, learning to sing the song in English, which is not my language, since I'm Brazilian. It was a difficult song to sing, I think the hardest on the album. Lots of nuances and speed. It's a lot of beauty.
Mel, your hair game is strong girl! I don't think I've seen anyone rock the bob cut better than you 🥰
THIS song... Such an eargasm to me with all the instruments and their vocals. This song and video are stunning. You were so moved but stopped to watch the video cuz it was so intriguing. Tears are a great band. My favorite 80’s song is Head Over Heels (right after Crowded House Don’t Dream It’s Over.) Definitely Check those out. The Head Over Heels video is distracting though. I’d rather just listen.
Greetings from the UK, Tears For Fears are awesome, Woman In Chains next please, or Badman's Song, TFF really go to church on that one. Roland is the main singer, but Curt sings on a lot of the earlier singles. Advice For The Young At Heart with Curt on lead vocal is awesome too. Keep up the good work.
Nice! Back in high school again with this.
Lucky#7Like👍🏿I'm here tuning in showing my support and I will be watching until the end family😁
The whole song/video was inspired by the Beatles. They are such a great group. Please check out Head over Heals, Everybody want to rule the world, and Shout.
Tears for Fears decided to do a "Beatlesque" song and the Result??? >>> Success !!!
Is a Masterpiece ❤️❤️🎸🎸
Tears for Fears -Mad World
“An end to need…”
One of the best bands! SUCH great songs and SO many. Try "Woman in Chains."
Love your take on this song and your whole vibe.
You must READ THE LYRICS! It’s a political song about the small guy being squashed . My generation had something to say. This was baller band! And remember, in OUR DAY, people WROTE THEIR OWN SONGS, AND PLAYED INSTRUMENTS 🙏🏼💜💕
I just adore you too!
That "Helly Yeah" at the 3:40 was fukkin perfect.
it's not a "esay" song, very engaged. Great band, great 80's
this entire album is simply fantastic (It’s pure 80’s with HQ Beatles production (The entire album is a roller coaster of sound & music) Highly recommend anyone who loves all music check out Women in Chains really overlooked deep song by Tears for Fears
Best 80s band in my opinion, try Shout, Pale Shelter and Mad World. 🔥
They sort of share or switch out the lead in their songs. Both are talented singers.
Yes, we were this smart just a few years ago. 😎
It's been said below - Woman in Chains
You need to hear...Woman in Chains my TFF.
Brilliant video
Please react to...Head over heels..! Tears for fears..!!
My top 5 80’s song!!👍🏼👍🏼
Also, they have a song called, HEAD OVER HEALS that is another great hit! TFF are a great 1980's British group that made a big splash during the 80's BRIT MUSIC INVASION! I am a huge fan of theirs!
Great reaction! React to Tears for Fears- Shout and then react to Disturbed- Shout 2000.
U should listen to their later songs just great
Gotta check out tears for fears mad world really good song think you would enjoy it.
I love you guys!!!! Haha my wife and I watch you allll the time. We watch you and the Belllife, you guys should check those guys out they are awesome. May I request a song???
Definitely channeling Paul...
Hi Shawn and Mel you can try we all are one by Jimmy Cliff.🇯🇲
I think I was 7 when I first saw them on MTV
Epic!
This song was very much influenced by the Beatles in sound and lyrics...react to the Beatles ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE...was broadcasted around the world in 1966 via the first satellite...was very exciting everyone watching it at the same time around the world
Shawn & Mel, check out "Return To Innocence" by Enigma. Please.
Lyrics that resonate today!! Listen to "Mad Mad World" 🎧😎
think heavily influenced by the Beatles psychedelic Love In period. Tears for Fears pastiche them in a fun, modern way with a serious twist, the environment and Mother Earth. Great track.
Check out " Change" and " Mama's talk" fr I m 1982
Listen to “Shout” or “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and “Head Over Heels.” Please and thinks ☺️
Intelligent pop.
1,000 likes 👍 😁👏🏻👍🇬🇧
This was an anti Thatcher song, in particular the politician granny line
Try change by them ,brilliance
An end to need
the politics of greed
with love
Try "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears. It's a Classic. Thanks.
Try “ Shout” and “ Woman in Chains”.....this group from England ruled the 80’s.
