    In Dave's words, Regis was always "money in the bank" as a guest. Smart, quick, funny, great stories and the audience always loved him.

      I recall how after his surgery, Letterman went on Regis' show. The same doctor operated on Regis later. Letterman also returned then as well on the show.

    This is probably the most heartbreaking I've ever felt watching one of your videos Don. Regis was my absolute favorite person on Letterman. And I'm sure he was also Letterman's favorite person. Regis and Letterman were probably two of the only people who I watched every single weekday for a good 25 years. And I even got to meet Regis one time some time ago. And he was the sweetest kindest man that you would expect them to be. And losing Regis, feels like losing a family member. And this is no disrespect to David Letterman, Bob Barker, Etc. But I don't think that there's anybody left in the world that is quite as iconic as Regis was. Maybe Bill Cosby, but obviously that has a very rotten smell to it. I don't think I have ever felt this devastated over an 88 year-old dying, who lived in incredibly full life, and ended it with an exclamation point, ever in my life.

    Regis Philbin was a dear, sweet man. I loved his bubbly personality and his energy as a talk show host. He had an interesting voice too, like a cartoon character. Rest in Peace.

    lol. One of the things I love about Regis is with his great energy and style could manage to push Dave's buttons from time to time. Rest in Peace, Regis - you were a gem that can't be replaced.

    Regis had a great run. His career spanned five decades. Only a handful of people have managed to continue working successfully into their 80s. Especially, in the youth obsessed entertainment business. RIP Regis.

    Regis was such a lovable guy. Always positive, funny, witty, and entertaining. One of the best entertainers ever. Sorrowfully missed.

    This is so sad. Both of Dave's good friends are now gone, Robin Williams and now Regis. You knew they were both close to Dave because he had them both on the Late Show the day he returned following his heart surgery. Regis was one of a kind. Always so funny and so hyped! RIP Regis :(

    Probably any late night hosts favourite guest. An easy night, just sit back and let Regis carry the show for a segment or two.

    My world has completely collapsed. My heart is absolutely shattered into a million little pieces. This is not possible. Regis can't be dead. He is not allowed to die. He is too beloved. He was too full of life. And I think him not being on TV probably caused his death. I think him being on TV everyday and entertaining America kept him alive. And without that outlet, he probably just felt like this time here was done. I will never forgive ABC for not doing everything in their power to keep Regis on his Morning Show, and allowing him to leave. Just Pay The Man his money. He's worth it. And I've never watched it ever since Regis left. And from what I've heard, the show is absolutely god-awful without him.

      Come on man, he was 88 years old..

    • @joeybaseball7352
      @joeybaseball7352 4 роки тому

      @@doderiolarkisso4038 I know, and it's hard to believe he was 88. But he wasn't your average 88 year old man. He had the energy and vigor of a 48 year old. Still sharp as a tack.
      I will be completely honest. I have not seen him in 2020. So I don't know if he was still the same Regis we all know and love. But I would have just chalked that up to the covid, and the fact that he was high risk as a senior. But apparently he died from natural causes. But the only thing that confuses me, is that I heard that his entire family was surrounding him when he died. And if he dies of natural causes, how would his family know to surround him? Usually your entire family would surround somebody if they knew that they were dying, due to a sickness or horrible accident of some sort, and it was very clear that they were not going to make it.

      Joey Baseball He passed away from a heart attack. He definitely was much younger mentally than his chronological age. He was full of life and laughter. 💔🙏

    Regis "Lee" Philbin! Always a great guest, always game... Hard to believe he's gone. I was a little child back then, but will always remember him appearing on Late Show dressed as Shrek and complaining about how long it took to get the makeup applied. It was really funny and showed how he was up for anything! May you rest in peace, Mr. Philbin, we're gonna miss you so...

      He first gained national exposure as Joey Bishop’s sidekick, 1967-69.

      @@dongiller One of the few available clips is them on "Laugh-in" where Regis yells, "Why don't they sock it to Joey?(eventually they did)" as said host escorts him off. His personality was pretty much laid out there.
