@@badgerkadar8589 I’m aware. I’ve been around them. They are smart and stubborn. And I’d give it to them as both are very entertaining animals to me.
I can recall one story of back in the day concerning the training of the first even pit fighting dog (in Quarry Bank, black country) , the Staffordshire bull terrier (and not the English bull terrier show dog)...They kept the said dog in a box around 5 to 6 foot square, in total darkness for around 6 weeks...every 3 to 4 days the trainer would throw in a stray cat as food !...Then after 6 weeks the dog was read for stamina training, which many trainers had their own secrets ways of training their pit dog (staffie), but this particular trainer would throw his dog into the nearest canel connected to a lead (there are many canals by we in Quarry Bank), and he would only pull the dog out when he tired out and sank under water, this training would last for weeks, he would time how long the dog would stay afloat and from that he would judge if the dog was ready for the pit !...They would never put a staffie up against a wolf as it was no competition/entertainment, the trained staffie would take a short time finishing off any size wolf !!!... Staffie were set upon bears and or bull's ! back in the day, mainly in London...
That’s a fascinating piece of history! It's incredible how dog training has evolved over the years. Fortunately, today we focus on positive reinforcement and building a loving bond with our pets.

Beware the owner ,not the dog !
That's a great point! A dog's behavior often reflects how it’s raised and trained. Have you had any experiences that shaped this perspective?
I read about them year's ago, it also stated the bull terrier was breaded to fight, crossbreaded the perfect killing machine
It's true that Bull Terriers have a history rooted in fighting, but today they're better known for their playful and loving nature. Have you ever met one in person? They're quite the characters!
Staffy fought rats then other dogs later in life
Staffies definitely have a strong history in both work and competition. How was your experience with them? They’re such loyal and resilient dogs when raised right!
King Bully !!!!
Absolutely! Bullies really are kings when it comes to loyalty and strength. Do you have one yourself, or are you just a fan of the breed? 🐾
The English Bull Terrier*
Thanks for pointing that out! What do you think about the English Bull Terrier? They’re such a unique and charismatic breed.
@ I Iove them. Our family have always had Staffs, but my uncles family have always had English 😃

Would be good if UA-cam had community notes. I too noticed that the majority of this video is all based on assumption.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I always aim to provide accurate and engaging content. Were there any specific points you felt needed more evidence or clarification? I’d love to hear your feedback!

This breed is amazing ❤ so sweet loyal and great with kids
Yes they are!
@@chrissy6704 They are not likely to take teasing very well. I’d keep an eye on both the child and the dog!
@WDLC1911 that goes for any breed of dog.
@@162tsb7 we ARE talking about about a high strung dog that loves tug of war and can be aggressive.
Fur Moms should not have Bull Terriers lest they become terrors.
@@WDLC1911 I own one my friend. They are certainly not highly strung confident outgoing and shy in equal measure. When out with mine she's of leash and not once in 10 years has she been the aggressor towards another dog. In fact its quite the opposite she just ignores them and gets away from them but 90% of the time gets on with all other dogs. Children she loves and shows a gentleness towards them. Not once has she been a problem only her clumsiness being a problem. Never met a dog of any kind that doesn't love a tug of war. I have to say you are wrong in every way about them . But I do agree they are not a fur mummy dog.
They were bred to guard horses it was never a fighting dog
That’s an interesting take! While Bull Terriers do have a history of working alongside humans, they were originally developed with both guarding and combat traits. Have you had any personal experience with them? They’re such versatile and loyal dogs!
Hahaha very nice dogs..but u don't know shit...these dogs never did any real fighting...and they are not very game.. Gamebred American pitbull terrier is the king of the pit...and its not.close...and a bull terrier would not even be a top 10 fighting dog...
@@craigdinney5933 why?
This dog isnt for everyone. Its a loaded weapon with a trigger mec
😁
Was never developed for bull baiting or dog fighting that's a fact Hinks developed the dog for show's and the original had no egg head too. This channel is wrong. This channel has read books that are wrong .some people did fight them but against the Staffordshire bull terrier they lost as they are not fighting dogs.

Staffordshire bull terrier were the pit fighting dogs of the day, and not the English bull terrier...
The Staffordshire bull terrier has a lock jaw but the English bull terrier does not !!!...But on saying that, almost any dog can be made to fight...
whyyy??,
@FurryFriendsHub-UA-cam English bull terrier does not have stamina nor the lock jaw as the Staffordshire bull terrier...
I live 5 miles away from a pub that still had the pit (untill recently) where they fought the Staffs in a pit in the bar ...it's in what's called Quarry Bank, Dudley in the county of the West Midlands England (aka the black country, as it was a coal mining area)...
''EGG shaped head'' wtf man they have an arched muzzle.and they don't fight in a RING they fight in a PIT! you know nothing!
why??
@@t-bonewhufc6429 they didn’t fight ANYWHERE!
@ omg what u talking about willis
@@t-bonewhufc6429 it would be really nice if people knew how to research and then actually READ the history of things. Then they’d not be ignorant. Thats all I’m saying. If you don’t know… you DON’T KNOW. 🤷🏽♂️
Its past is from a English terrier which was a rat catcher then breed English bull dog hench name English bull terrier do research Americans maybe the history of pit bull an English breed brought to Canada then Americans cross breed them to become the massive breed they are today
You’re absolutely right! The history of the Bull Terrier and Pitbull breeds is fascinating, and they do have strong English roots. Do you think their temperament and strength come from that heritage, or has modern breeding changed them a lot? Would love to hear your thoughts on how their past influences them today!
IT As DALMATIAN dog
If you want a good one get a working line not some show line.
That’s a great point! Working lines often have more drive and energy. Do you have experience with working-line dogs? I’d love to hear your thoughts on what makes them stand out.
@FurryFriendsHub-UA-cam I wouldn't say I have experience with working lines I just have the instinct to pick a game high drive pup out of a litter it's something I picked up over the years . I have picked a few pups from working lines and I had a stunning Dublin red but he was a man biter so I had to get rid of him me and my partner think he was inbred I couldn't risk him being around the house he wasn't stable very aggressive.
