is it really though? without the consumable the rate of fire isnt very good, even though the fire chance is. That and your range isnt that great so you run the risk of getting hit back pretty easily as long as people know to lead their shots against you a bit more.

I’ve had the T5 and T6 French DDs for a short while. They are ok but somewhat situational. Just got the Fantasque. First game 4 kills, 123k and just under 2.6k Base XP. The torps are wicked fast and that 3rd launcher seems to surprise people. Then there’s the DD eraser... I mean main battery reload booster. Second game I ate an Akizuki. Most satisfying. Thanks Yuro!

Thankfully, I never had to fight him, instead getting to fight alongside him once, although I conked out pretty quickly (because people love to kill Yamatos asap)
That's actually the worst tactic in most matches. It's far easier and quicker to remove the easy targets. A good players may be good, but he can't carry if all his team is already dead. Good players knows how to avoid being the focus of the enemy team and how to mitigates damage. While bad players are always easy targets, fast to melt once focused.

The French destroyers in WoWs aren’t really destroyers they are destroyer leaders. Big destroyers designed to lead flotillas we probably will get a more traditional destroyer line in the future
It is the other way around. The Russians started to build their flotilla leaders (Leningrad class) after the French contre-torpilleur ships (Vauquelin class). Leningrad : laid down in 1932, commissioned in 1936 ; Vauquelin : laid down in 1930, commissioned in 1933. By the way the Le Fantasque class were also commissioned the same year as the Leningrad class. As for the others, Tashkent laid down in 1937, commissioned in 1940 ; Mogador class : laid down in 1934, commissioned in 1939.
