Sometimes a song is just hard
Simply because it has A LOT of changes. As soon as you settle into any of those excellent tasty riffs, it’s moved on to another… for maybe 1 bar 😂 then back to one of the verse riffs.
Another thing : it’s got 3 guitars on it. So you have to kinda chose one track you wanna stick to. Or create a composite track if all your favorite parts, if you’re using Guitar Pro.
Personally, I often play along to Guitar Pro 8 with the track Audio solo’d. And I tend to have all the guitar tracks onscreen. It’s actually confusing and not at all an effective way to learn. But it can work.
Lastly, the riffs and the song are at a kinda slow tempo. When you wanna let loose and go berserk with your riffing… that’s not gonna work.
In sum, I recommend getting Guitar Pro 8 ( a solid investment ) Syncing the actual track to it. And making a composite track to play along to and learn the song.
I’ve had more trouble with the breakdown than anything lol, however I’m using an acoustic. I might break out an electric just to save some headache

Really awesome! I have a question about the tab notation, I understand that means to play a harmonic, but Im not sure what the 3 quite means. I'm guessing a pinch harmonic (going off the fact that there's a P.H. at the top whenever it shows up), but I thought I'd ask since I'm not entirely familiar with the notation.
You are correct, the 7 is a natural harmonic and the 3 is a pinch harmonic. Thanks for watching!

Just the Boss GX-100. Plugged straight to the mixer or through an amp. Actually I think I may have used the GX-100 for this video as well.

Great playing, but I gotta ask as I can't actually ask real Ghoul - what the vision like inside those helmets, and is it heavy to wear for long? 🤔
Thanks for watching. This helmet is made of foam, so it's very lightweight and won't tire your neck. It does get hot though. There is a resin made one that I've tried but in my opinion would be too heavy (for a gig). Visibility can be an issue, mainly with parts higher up the neck of the guitar.

I just started learning this song and found your video just now. I was gojng on a tab i found which has it in drop C. It looks like you're playing in D standsrd, is that correct?

Playing it in Standard D, is that a deliberate choice ? The band definitely plays it in Drop C Live. I know it only comes in handy for literally one riff in the middle of the song…

@@vandelayy Yes, especially since they got 3 guitars on the studio version ( counting the overdubs ) I noticed that happens a lot on Impera they kinda went all out guitar fest.
Personally I do like the growl of the low C and playing with a thicker string for that song and Spillways. Again hardly worth detuning unless that’s a tuning you regularly use like myself.
I was playing a lot of basic power chords 10 years ago ( essentially a lot of Tool and Isis - The Band😅 ) until I got into Plini and Intervals and got exposed to a lot of fun chords in Drop tuning

Right on! It's implying the fret where you execute the pinch harmonic. It doesn't have to be precise, as long as you can execute them.
Are you saying 27 refers to fret #27? My guitars run out of gas at 22 frets...😢
Yeah, Guitar Pro does that automatically. Who really knows where the theoretical 27th fret is anyway? As long as you can hit those harmonics.

I play it in D standard. Ghost plays it in drop C. Meaning they tune the 6th string down 1 whole step.
