This is the masterpiece by one of the Nobel Dotar players of northen khorasan Ali Bakhshi . Due to kurdish traditions being shepperd was a hard and vital job among men . most of them had to sacrifice their life for the group to protect their sheep to be able to life longer into the wild . Usually the shepperd were the musicians who were singing and playing an instrument along side their hard job . Shepperd is one of those songs that they made while they were doing their duty and missing their beloved ones and had no other option to choose . Maestro Omid saberi one of the greatest folklore musician of northen khorasan is one of the few people that can play this maqam and singing along side of playing dotar . Hope you enjoy it .

He is singing in kurdish (Kurmandji dialect). Sivan (Shevan) :shepherd. They were brougth to Khorasan by Persian Empire in 16 century. Surprisingly, they still speak kurmandji dialect very well.
Unfortunately, The kurdish music, cultural heritage have been appropriated by States that invaded Kurdistan.
