I am as passionate about recycling as you but for many people is not feasible all that hassle. Companies could help not mixing different materials in their packaging.

One big problem is that different areas, councils, can't all recycle the same items, plus not all councils collect their recycling in the same way. In my area we separate everything but the council next to us take everything in one large bin. Many supermarkets now take very thin plastic, crisp packets and pet food pouches, which is great. Terra Cycle take loads of things but sometimes it's difficult to find a site to take things to. I'm collecting tablet blister packs but my nearest collection point is miles away and I have to use public transport so at the moment I'm just keeping them in bags in my shed. My house is beginning to look like the recycling centre, lol.

Plastics such as tubes can easily be cleaned if you cut them open first!

RE: recycling cardboard with tape, as I've been doing a little research, apparently leaving the tape on is okay as this is normally removed at the plant. Unsure if this applies everywhere!

Is there a simple video outlining whether separation is needed when taking plastic packaging to supermarkets, or does it all get sorted later?

Does it really need to be dry though? We set ours on the curbside, and they pick it up, rain, sleet, and snow...

And why is it so hard to find information on it? I tried googling recycling in my country, got few results about articles on how "people recycle wrong" and they just give one common example on what is something people don't know how to recycle!
I buy yogurt with funny cartoon characters in it, "recycle buddies" or something. In the back of the carton there's code so you can install their app so you can learn about recycling! It was for kids, but whatever, there was a cute cat and if the app could help me learn about recycling, great!
...app didn't work. It was total piece of $#!t.

hello, I can make thin, thick and flat paper. I'm happy if I can discuss it so that handmade recycled paper is of higher quality and useful

I love recycling but can’t help but worry about all the water being wasted per house hold trying to wash the plastic crap. Recycling is a good solution but definitely ain’t the answer, we need to ditch plastic fully as it’s horrible for the environment and health

I agree with you there! That's why the first R is Reduce. Then reuse and then recycle, LOL but then big industries wouldn't make a profit off selling us "recyclable" and "eco friendly" packaged products. If we really want to make an impact we have to stop producing new plastic and packaging materials. People still managed to get food and other things they needed without all the extravagant packing material before plastic was invented... I think we could do fine without some of the convince we have now for the sake of our future and planet. I have a moral conundrum at home trying to figure out what to do with styrofoam that came in something I bought recently...

I wash my recycling in the water left after I've washed my dishes. I've always washed tins a plastics containers even before recycling was started.

One particular issue is when you buy food on the go, for instance a meal deal. If you’re out, you don’t have the means to clean the packaging, unless you take dirty packaging home with you. So, these items are inevitably destined for the non-recycling…

I didn't know the World Wrestling Federation took such an interest in recycling. This gives me hope. We should all be focusing on how to make the world a better place! Bravo WWF!

Recycling as much as we can is commendable, but wouldn't it be better if there wasn't so much stuff that needs recycling?

The big white plastic bags that Steve Lopez used for his recycling isn't recyclable. The moniker should be "Rethink, Refuse, Reuse then Recycle". And even if plastic is recycled it can not be recycled indefinitely and will have to go into landfill. So the answer is to refuse plastic whenever possible. And honestly, I don't see the younger kids doing much refusing. Just go into a Starbucks or really any coffee shop and all sorts of people are using one use plastic cups.

I find it a problem how we are expected to know 'oh this box has this thing on it, so no recycle'. Like wtf, if you want the public to recycle, make so that 'I see cardboard, i recycle'. Or i see special logo, I recycle. I dont want to think when i recycle. Its not making me money.
