typically a CIWS can trip up if multiple targets are in quick succession and very close to eachother in distance. this typically happened on older AEGIS systems were it was trying to decide which target to hit and went into reboot mode since it couldn't. effectively not firing, which is the scariest part about CIWS because either it works or it doesn't you don't have a second chance

@derthrongler At the very end 1:00 . It sounded like debris or a bullet ,but the CRAM seemed to far away and would seem like a liability if the debris shoots that far that fast. I didn't hear any other explosion or gunshot.

During the Gulf War it is said that the Patriot missile system had no successful SCUD intercepts.....because all of the warheads hit the ground in the intended target areas. In the same way we were told in survival class that there had never been a successful ejection from a B-52. Every ejection resulted in serious injuries.
