Monika, you are ASMR for me. Your voice and accent are so comforting. Luckily, I’m im a fragrance freak as well soooo that’s a bonus.

Omg so funny I’m just the opposite-struggling so hard to stick with this because her voice grates on my last nerve😅I really cannot stand ASMR definitely seems you love it or you hate it!

Yes, for me to. I like the unintentional ASMR. Intentional ASMR is mostly overdone.

This is my second year collecting fragrances. Last year, I was an impulse buyer, over 75% of my over 150 bottles were blind bought 😅 This year, I’m completely different, I am very picky and buy decants before getting a bottle. I’m a minimalist at heart and I was in shock at the end of 2021, when I realised how many bottles I got, so I did a complete 180 😂

Minimalist - 150 bottles, kind of contradictory?

This is my first year getting into fragrances so I’m in the blind buying stage. You can’t beat the thrill right before that first spray!! I am trying my best to balance it with getting decants of the more expensive ones. But also just blind bought a Xerjoff and Initio fragrance 😅

    • @RalucaBlajut
      @RalucaBlajut Рік тому +3

@@rookie4619 I agree! That’s why I now have just 30 left :) The fever got to me last year, because I was keep discovering many new fragrances and I kept buying, but when I realised what I’ve done, I decluttered quite a lot. I still have around 30 on my To Buy list, so I do need to do another declutter, because I refuse to own so many bottles! For Monika, it makes sense, because she’s creating content for us, but for me, as a “normal” fragrance user, it’s a lot of bottles.

@@janice.sais.quoi. I’m with you, 100%! I used to read the notes and accords and then listen to reviews and it was amazing to see how many I got right, through blind buying! I actually think I’ve learned so much because of this! Which Xerjoff did you get? With them, I cannot blind buy, because Incan very easily dislike them 🙈😅

@@RalucaBlajut that's a great achievement. I've had a lot in the past too but it's a balance between hobby/interest and actually an unskillful addictive shopping habit. I think around 20/25 would be my upper limit and even then it's a really high amount!

One time I sorted out my bottles depending on whether I sampled them first or bought them at first sniff. And I realized my favorite ones are the ones I sampled and tried at home first.
So now I try to restrain myself from buying impulsively

Great video! Thank you. Totally agree with your impressions of NR EDT, YSL Manifesto and Perris Monte Carlo Arancia Sicilia!! Stunners 🙌 I will definitely be getting a bottle of Patchouli Figue, sounds right up my alley. Hence I am an impulse buyer obviously!! 😂 And I penny pinch at the grocery store too 😆. Perfumes are far more fun to buy!! 🤭 Xx

I’m definitely someone who doesn’t mind spending money on really good quality. Not even necessarily high end designer names but just good quality. That’s not always the same.. and on the other hand I always like a good bargain, too 😊
And yes, I take my time with smelling and sampling perfumes before I buy them. I buy a bunch of samples before committing to a full bottle. That is mainly because I’m very picky on what I like. I truly dislike anything sharp in perfumes. A lot of times perfumes have this very sharp and biting note and I just won’t purchase a perfume that has it. Even if they generally smell good.
But I did smell MFK Oud Satin Mood Extrait and bought it on the spot! I absolutely adore it! It’s my favorite perfume.
And surprisingly I did the same with Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy .. I really did not want to like it at all but it took me by surprise. It’s very long lasting and very comforting on me. I love how it smells on me. Not a huge sillage but so nice as I get a whiff of it on myself. Very gentle.

I'm anxious to try Hermes Violette, no one has that in my area yet. I love Arancia Di Sicilia, but put it away for the cold season now. I totally get the penny pinching where you can and having the money to splurge on something fabulous!! I've taken care of things that are important financially, so I can splurge. However, I am keeping my collection at 50 full size bottles to keep it manageable. I am at 49 bottles now, so I am more choosy about what I buy now. I've also been finishing off some older bottles which for some reason is a good feeling. So far I've not had to throw anything away that went bad.

Monica, I used to buy after a spray, but I'm trying to try samples before buying now, especially for more complex fragrances. They also develop very differently on skin vs on paper, which makes testing in stores less optimum, as we only have limited skin real estate. 😅 I was so confused by BDK wood Jasmin until I watched your BDK house review. You're the*only reviewer, past or present, who said "apple pie." If I didn't spend 2 days with that decant, I would've never put all its notes together coherently and make sense of it. You've got an excellent nose and so you can buy after just a spray!
Please do more women's or unisex fragrance reviews! I trust your nose SO much!

I can buy on impulse if I see a good bargain - I just bought Burberry London for $39 even though I forget how it smells (I’ve put that away for Xmas day here in Australia as I like a new fragrance on my birthday and Xmas). I’ve bought a bottle of Blue Grass for $17 to put away for a few years as I’ve heard it’s discontinued. I may sell it. Those prices are good for Australia as perfume is expensive here even online.

So excited to see some love for N Rodriguez For Her (Black Bottle). It's been my favorite fragrance _on me_ since I was in my 20s, but I feel like no one ever talks about it. It almost made me doubt whether or not it smells as good as I think?? I'm feeling a tiny bit validated. Hahaha

Yes, I get the save on canned tomatoes over a new bottle of Byredo! I’m the same way! I just bought a new Maison Crivelli but went to Walmart to go grocery shopping. My husband says save the money on something’s but splurge on others!!! 😊

The best Scent I've ever smelled was Symphonium from Xerjoff. This smell was absolutely mindblowing! So beautiful and luxurious at the same time, but very expensive with 570€ in 100ml. But i get it for a very good price and i am really happy about it! This ist something special between my around about 130 Perfumes.

I have to admit, I love the rush of blind buying fragrances. I’ll do my research and find the best deal. If I don’t like it, I can always sell it for close to what I paid. If I know I’ll like a DNA, sometimes I will get samples of it & flankers so I can decide which I like best.

Blind buy from notes and brands. I never sample because IMO it is a waste of money. And never buy when I smell at a store because I don't pay retail for a fragrance. LOL! But I will go right home and order it if it is on discounter.

The canned tomatoes thing is, I believe, a communist thing for us, Eastern Europeans 😅 I completely understand what you’re saying, I’m spending thousands on fragrance, because they’re worth it to me, but not on other things.

I have been into trying travel-sizes before buying Full Size. But I also blind buy if it's a good deal and has good reviews and notes I think I'll like...
Lately I have been into checking out dupe houses though and buying decants from niche brands.
I would really love to have a wide variety of fragrances that I love Only**
I recently fell in love with Delina Exclusif & Ellis Brooklyn Bee 🐝♥️
Bought the full-size of Bee, but trying to find the best dupe of Exclusif to see if it matches my decant 😍

Quick question about Patchouli Figue, I've read some people saying it is like Mugler's Angel EDP 😳
However, I very much dislike the patchouli they use in the newer Angel reformulations. Can you please confirm the patchouli in this is different, much nicer and not as dusty (cat pee smelling) like Angel? Thank you 🙏💛
