Awesome pick ups, Mark!! Those early FFs are great & historic early Marvel Age! Sounds like you had some good luck with lot bargains!!! Good luck in 2025! 🍀
That bound House of Mystery surely has a lot of wonderful (and often overlooked) art inside. I'm always a sucker for EC as well. I only have a few of the science fiction and war books (none of the horror which was never my bag) but I won the final issue of Weird Science Fantasy #29, with the legendary Frazetta cover, years ago on a MyComicShop auction and it's maybe the grail of my small collection. Those two FF's and the Golden Age comics are all beauties! Congrats! Ditto on The Killing Joke. I bought a 1st edition when it came out on newsstands but my pristine copy was quite literally damaged (but not destroyed) in a hurricane along with my Fireside Books' Origins of Marvel Comics.
@@SuddenlyComics It was a long time ago. Still have the comics but the water damage renders them worthless (except sentimentally). Living not just on the coast but on a small barrier island, I always had to be ready to put my most valuable comics in a chest and toss it in my trunk when evacuating.
Mark! Wonderful video of all your grand purchases in 2024! Lovely stuff indeed! The Sgt. Fury #1 is a great early Marvel, and I have had similar purchases of random books I liked start me collecting the runs. I will say I never regretted doing so, because like you, earlier disinterest transforms to enthusiasm by chance serendipity. Buying the full set of Rex the Wonder Dog was a similar situation for me. I had no intention or any inclination towards the character, but embracing Rex with Alex Toth art and Carmine Infantino's Detective Chimp worked out great. Kudos, Mark!! Great 2024 for you, and an even better 2025!! Best, Stephen ❤❤😊
Using UA-cam to sell the Planet Comics bound volume was genius ... I might have a go at that myself for some of the Dobson stuff :-) Great video review of the year, pleased to have made the shortlist ! Cheers & enjoy !
We have a lot in common when it comes to favorite pick ups and Auction loving! I unfortunately have not been able to attend an auction due to the distance to any major auction house, but I am addicted to the on-line ones lol. My FF 8 and 11 are two of my favorite pickups as well; along with my BM 100. I am so glad that the FF comic's are still "down in price" for a spell. I am just looking for a #1 and #5 now at a good auction buy to complete my small run so far. Enjoyed your other pick ups as well. I have never sent anything to Heritage to be sold, but it sounds like fun to have some Credit on hand when you are shopping yourself. 🤗
Yes I'm lucky there are probably 15 to 20 auction houses within a 2 hour drive from my home. Good luck with the FF #1 & 5 - I suspect we are near the bottom of the market so now is the time to strike ! I'm probably going to send some more items to Heritage, it's a long slightly worrying process, but it was nice to have a pot of money to buy keys I wanted.

Wow, you had a great year!
Was lovely to meet you mate. Thanks for the shout out. You had some great pick ups last year. Thought bubble same time again this year?

Thanks Darren !
Love that Batman! Did you read those Planet comics, before they left you? Congratulations on the wins, last year!
A couple but not all of them - art better than the stories IMHO
