  • Say hi to the PiT01S! LOL!
    This is a repost from our FB page, we are still working on it and going well.
    Raspberry Pi prototype platform, for now just a proof of concept running PiDeck but it can be switch to any other DVS running on Pi, retains all PT01S features except USB OUT as that was replaced with the Raspberry.
    BTW, before you ask that's a CJ Scratch Torres minixfader prototype!
    Few details:
    1.- Normal PT01S operation (Internal Fader, Internal Speaker, RCAs, Headphones)
    2.- Sound Plate installed
    3.- Serato Vinyl control
    4.- Touch Screen
    5.- HDMI out
    6.- One Power source
    7.- Needs Power Adapter upgrade to a minimum 12v 1.5Amps
    Not supported FOR NOW!
    1.- Batteries (A Lithium Modd should work)
    2 - Switch to regular Vinyl (Working on a Bypass feature)

    @Scratch Toys I'm pretty sure you just caught a ghost/anomaly on camera. Start @ 0:05 you can see it shoot out of your turntable then you can see it floating and zipping across the room. Don't think it's a bug/insect either, it just manifests out of your PT01. You can see it again at 0:26 shooting downward. LOL, dang you can see it as soon as your video starts.

    Can you run a dj programme from your phone/laptop and use the deck for L/R mixing/crossfading?

    • @scratchtoys8703
      @scratchtoys8703  6 років тому

      No the PT01S fader only has one channel

    • @OscarMicMusic
      @OscarMicMusic 6 років тому

      So you couldn't switch it to the other channel with a button the dj software? If not you could still mix but only scratch in one side yeah? Thank you

    • @scratchtoys8703
      @scratchtoys8703  6 років тому

      @@OscarMicMusic this version of the PiDeck software only supports one channel, the PT01S fader also only has one channel for scratching.
      If you want to use let say Traktor you could but the PT01S will only accept one channel.
      Maybe I'm not understanding your idea, please explain it in more detail.

    • @OscarMicMusic
      @OscarMicMusic 6 років тому +1

      So if you have the PT01S, an external fader, a macbook or ipad, you run the usb into ipad and it is assigned to one of the left or right channels on the DJ software right? So you start by scratching in a track on the left channel for instance. So you've dropped the track and now it's playing. Can you then switch the PT01S to the right channel on the DJ software (by selecting on screen) then scratch in the next track on the right channel?

    • @OscarMicMusic
      @OscarMicMusic 6 років тому +1

      i mean if you are using VirtualDJ or something similar

  • @ultimatezegger0073

    i really like this pt01, might get one for christmas, but this is the only option for right hand scratchers? thats very sad. :( if i were a right hand scratcher i couldnt scratch like the guy in the video. that sucks... :/ if there is a solution, without having to buy a portable fader, then reply please. im curious.

    • @nickwycoff3071
      @nickwycoff3071 6 років тому

      UltimateZegger007 there are screws on the fader you can use unscrew to rotate it

    HI, i don' understand how you can send the timecode without cutting it when closing the fader. Are you using the usb connection?

    • @scratchtoys8703
      @scratchtoys8703  6 років тому

      Noise CTRL The time code is exiting the PT01S via the grey 3pin cable going into USB board, that signal is uninterrupted meaning it doesn't go thru the fader, to cut the signal coming from the sound card I hacked internally into the board audio INPUT which does go thru the fader, that input is located in the middle of the board and is the one that is a 6Pin connector but with two grey cables plugged in, it's the grey cable going to the board with the volume, pitch

    • @scratchtoys8703
      @scratchtoys8703  6 років тому

      Noise CTRL you don't see those connections because the Sound Card is internal

    • @ryangilmoreisoffline
      @ryangilmoreisoffline 6 років тому

      i was wondering the same thing, i can get pideck working fine, but when i cut the fader and backspin the track just pauses.

    • @scratchtoys8703
      @scratchtoys8703  6 років тому +2

      ryan gilmore yes that will happen if you use it via the regular Output, just follow my hack, use the grey cable that goes to the USB board for the timecode IN on the PiDeck sound card, and the OUT send it to one of the grey cables that goes from the main board to the board with volume.
      I'll have to do a picture or video for this hack.

    • @ryangilmoreisoffline
      @ryangilmoreisoffline 6 років тому

      do you have to do that if you have the sound plate? a picture would be cool as well.

    Ive got to admit even though I'm totally on the fence about how I feel about those portable turntables, thats gotta be the cleanest looking mounting and screen setups I've seen yet =)
    Does the screen tilt? Where can I pickup that mounting bracket and screen? I've been saying that i'm gonna build one of these pidecks for ages and now that the newest pi's have got up to 8gb ram theres just a riduculous amount of possibility there and I'm gonna look into ordering one this week...cheers!

    • @scratchtoys8703
      @scratchtoys8703  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah it does tilt but that was the first attempt, later I did a different mount for the official raspberry pi screen, I think it's in the channel too.
      I can share the mount files.

      Hi man! Not really, I've been thinking about it these days that we have a lot of time, I mean the parts or project works great I just need to find a way to make it simple for everyone.
      Too many parts and cables.
      The screen needs a better way to mount and plug, right now it is fixed.
      I'll probably will do a parts list and release the 3D printed mounts.
