Fishing Lake of Shadows aka Avocado Lake, Bass Fishing

9/1/2022 Had a few hours to go fishing today. Decided to go back to Avocado Lake knowing that it probably has the least amount of pressure from fishing. Avocado Lake is a lake located in Sanger, CA. It is a 210-acre park providing recreation that includes swimming, fishing and picnicking. There is many drowning at this lake Every year, mostly unexplainable. There are many scary stories related to this lake from different cultures. I was the only person on the water today. There were only about 4 people fishing from shore. Don't wanna sound like I'm douchy, but always try to get the last hook in the back first. Just gently pull down straight. No need to twist and pull. That hurts the fish. It only makes it worse. Bass don't require the brute strength to get the hook out. It's just not you. Every YT anglers, including pros can't seem to remove hooks. It's very easy. Give my method a try and be gentle, take the time to do it right. You'll be glad. And I really wish everyone takes 5 min to watch a YT video to extract throated stripers through the gill. Seen too many dead stripers that it's utterly sad.

That lake has so much long/high vegetation in the water, probably why so much people
People drown in that lake each year because the vegetation would wrap around their legs when they are swimming in the water...I'm just speaking from experience as it happened to me years back when I was still in high school... Luckily I was able to get free from the vegetation about 8 secs underwater and but in doing so swallow a few gulps of water swimming up to get some air...told myself I'm not becoming another victim to the lake of the shadows that day 👻...that lake don't play

Sometimes the deep just calls idiots. One time a drunk guy was screaming for help in the middle of the lake and these guys with swim floats saved him. Another, my friend's ex-wife just walked into the deep at beach. She can't even swim. He had to go save her. You don't wanna know how many kids think they can swim across that lake, and some have.

Personally I been getting out dangling for smallies. Used to be one of them natural brook trout guys! But filming videos and meeting new anglers has really opened me up to all kinds of fisheries!
