    Excellent video. Realistic, and reassuring to know that editing isn't necessary a quick 5 second routine. You demonstrate clearly how one should revalidate and go back to previous changes if required. Love the full edit video and hope to see more down the line.

    Excellent tutorial, Mike. It's great to see how an excellent image is gradually built. Personally, I liked the part where you explain why to use Blacks instead of Shadows and why Whites instead of Exposure. These are the things that help to better understand Lightroom and to know WHY and not just how. That's why I would love to see more such explanations in presentations. Mechanically moving sliders without understanding why doesn't lead to knowledge or understanding of the process. Great job, keep it up. 👍👍👍

    Thanks Mark, great result and great detailed explanation. Just one thing I see several photographers misinterpret, and that is the inner ring of the feather on the radial gradient is 100%, not 50%. Thans again.

      Thanks so much for the comment. You are in fact 100% correct, thanks so much for pointing that out. Makes no sense to think of it as the 50% pin.

    Great video, just what I was hoping for. It was excellent to hear you explain what you're seeing and then go into detail about how you intend to do the edit. It was great to see how much you go back and forth to get the result you want. Totally different than watching edited videos. I personally don't mind the extra length. I'd love to see more like this. Impressive!

    Mark - I find gen AI tends to be very obvious where it's been used. I tend to use a light gaussian blur and add some noise back into that section (as well as feather the gen AI area), although I use gen AI in Photoshop, and not Lightroom.

    • @MarkDumbleton
      @MarkDumbleton  17 днів тому +1

      Thanks for letting me know. I do agree that a lot of the gen AI does look obvious.

    • @davepastern
      @davepastern 17 днів тому

      @@MarkDumbleton a few fellow photographers pointed it to me when I started using gen AI. They suggested feathering the area and then after applying gen AI, add some gaussian blur and noise to balance it out.
      Of course, using gen AI (or cloning) results in DSQ from any photography competition. So users need to be made aware of that.

    Thank you Mark for this excellent video. It does really encourage me to try and edit in more innovative ways. However, I have a question on the computer specification to use. My laptop hangs sometimes, when I use lightroom. Can you recommend what specification of computer to use for lightroom?

      @MarkDumbleton  Місяць тому

      Hi there, apologies for the delayed reply. I use a MacBook Pro M1 14” 2021 model. It performs super well. I would say any modern laptop would work well with Lightroom. Mac is my preferred operating system, I’m really not a fan of windows. I find the Mac computers to be super solid for photo editing.
