      Would be interesting, yes - seems like editing for the sake of editing, it surely did not work for me.

      Much too unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming.

      I love it! I like the final result and I think is a great showcase of what it can be done with Lr.
      Thank you!

    Such tutorials are what I love. There is a way that you describe what you are doing that makes me (and hopefully others who are here to learn from you) feel included, and not "dumb" if you know what I mean. Thank you Mark! Onto the next one ...

    When you do a second pass to "select sky" to improve the mask is very similar to Extend/Contract mask option in the Luminosity mask plug-in for PS. I think is a similar process.

    Thanks for the demo. Very nice although it feels a little too dark at the lower right and makes it look like the light is piped onto the subjects. Be nice to see the grass all at the same light level.

    The only issues I see are that if someone wants to enter an image into a Nature competition there are usually very strict rules as to what you can and can't do with nature images. Removing elements from the image is a No no for starters. Other than that good video.

    • @MarkDumbleton
      @MarkDumbleton  8 місяців тому

      Thanks for the comment. I don’t really enter competitions but if I did, I definitely wouldn’t remove anything.

    For what it’s worth, ‘darken down’ is a tautology, that is using two words for the same idea. Since the opposite, ‘darken up’ is meaningless, just using ‘darken’ accurately conveys the meaning intended.

    Nice watching your edit, attractive outcome but to be honest it's over edited for my taste. These "perfect" type edits, removing every last bird, tree etc start to look like AI images in this day and age. We are all different in our tastes but an edit producing some more contrast and drama in the sky but leaving some of the other natural features alone looks more natural to me. Thanks for uploading, you used some nice technique too, I hope you don't mind tge critique, you did ask for our thoughts. 😊

    • @MarkDumbleton
      @MarkDumbleton  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks a lot for the comment. I appreciate all critique. I do agree that things can look a bit AI generated if every imperfection is removed. I do keep a lot of imperfections in but it’s the distracting ones I do take out. Perhaps my tastes will change with AI becoming more main stream and looking too perfect becomes normal. Thanks so much for watching.
