GL is the total load and the reading that show how fast the carb converts to sugar is GI (glycemic index). If the item is high GI + high GL, that is basically the worst case scenario.
White rice is different from Black Wild Rice....so as Red Rice, and Brown rice.... White Rice is the "least healthy of all processed Rice".... Same goes for noodles and their colours that made from either rice or wheat/grains....
Noodles usually come with high calories sweet sauces. and the ingredients are alot less, so basically you are eating 90% noodles in a bowl of noodle. for rice, you have a cai fan, herbal soup bowl, fish soup, chicken etc, and rice you can easily portion it and eat less. if 90% of your bowl is noodles, how are you going to cut down the carbs.
If i follow the hpb guidelines, i wld just be eating 25% meat bc i hate brown rice, wholemeal bread, fruits and vegetables I love white rice and chicken only
