This is an old video, but I find it useful. I'm putting together my first urban sketching kit and I'm looking at what others use in their kits. I also carry fountain pens. I also use a twsbi Eco for the fine nib and a Duke Fude. I'm still trying to decide on a pencil for sketching. Your Pental looks nice, but I'm leaning toward a Faber-Castell water soluable graphite in 2B. I also found your trio water cup: Guerrilla Painter Tri-Brush Washer. I noticed several people commenting about it in your feed, so I thought that I'd pop that up for folks. Good luck with your painting!
Yep I also love travel with only the essentials. You may like the neef brush roll it not only fits your brushes and pens but can also fit your watercolors> Its rolls up and is easy to carry and doesn't feel bulky at all. Its made of soft leather and comes in three colors absolutely love mine. Thanks for your video its great to see other kits.
Very good, I have much the same set up. I use an old military map bag & keep it loaded so I can just pick it up & go. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HOW OTHERS SET UP WHEN YOU GET TO WHERE YOU'RE PAINTING LIKE CHAIR, WHAT KIND, TIPS ON WHERE TO SET UP YOUR WATER, STUFF LIKE THAT.
I love seeing what other artist travel with. I'm trying to cut back on the pens I carry but when I do I always want or need to use something I had taken out. For my painting I have two collapsible silicon cups for water. Your bucket is really cool though!
I hope you'll make the palette review video! I love seeing other people's palettes and hear what made them choose the particular colors and how it's working for them
2H lead is hard. 2B lead is soft H stands for hard. B stands for black I think?? Yeah, I'm pretty sure its black. This is a really cool video I love seeing what other artists use and bring with them. I'm an over packing artist, so I'm trying to downsize
Indeed, B stands for black because the softer the lead, the darker the shade. In that respect I can see where Chris made the error. The harder the lead, the softer the shade, i. e. the less lead ends up on the paper. ;-) By the way, in Europe you may find an "F" between "HB" and "H". "F" stands for firm (fest in German).
Wow I liked that! I also do urban watercoloring but cannot seem to find such a handy watercontainer. What is its brand and where did you get it please?
Hey Jerry, I have not been able to find where to buy this bucket. It didn't come with any specific information when I bought it, but if I do find out where to find it online I'll post it in the description.
The Evolving Vegan haha thanks for pointing that out. "H" does stand for hardness. What I mean is that the 2H or 4H makes lighter lines on the paper then the "B" pencils
Yep, I know exactly what you mean. Art is a very personal thing and it can be a struggle to overcome the shyness & shame. However we really do need to fight our "shrinking violet" mentality. I'd love to try some urban sketching but Dublin Ireland is full of street nutters, gangs & drug addicts. Very dangerous and impossible to concentrate while keeping a lookout for that screwball who was hovering around you a few minutes ago.
They make better travel watercolor brushes for less money. You could have gotten 7 squirrel hair travel brushes for the price of that escoda.Escada. I can always tell real artists from youtubers when out by the brushes & pens they use.
I don’t like squirrel brushes except as mops. They are too loose and floppy . I prefer the sable brushes or the good synthetic brushes. It’s personal preference about what brushes to use, what tools a person uses.

Thanks for showing your travel kit. It always gives me some good ideas as to what I can add to mine!
Documented Journey I liked your video of your kit as well! Thanks!
I’ve watched this video a couple of times now and I’m sad I wasn’t watching your channel when you were uploading.
I'm putting together a portable watercolour kit so videos like this are really helpful. Thanks for posting it.
I hope you'll make the palette review video! I love seeing other people's palettes and hear what made them choose the particular colors and how it's working for them

I'll second this request :)

Thanks for clearing that up haha. Hope you can find the tools that work for you!

Nice setup. You do have nice hands!
Like your stuff. Keep it up.
Where did you get the Seikai pencil etc holder please? Thank you & good video
Larry Glatt it's a company based out of Thailand, so most art supply stores carry them.
Thank you for your quick response
NICE set up :) Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
You've got some fine looking tools there, dude. I'm mildly jealous.
Do you remember where you got the mop brush from?
You have beautiful hands! :) Great video - so much fun to see what other artists carry in their travel kits. New subscriber!
P.S. Cut the top off a worn-out white sport sock and wear it as a wristband - then you can use that instead of a paper towel.
Wonderful!!
Thank you! This was very helpful. 😊
Wow I liked that! I also do urban watercoloring but cannot seem to find such a handy watercontainer. What is its brand and where did you get it please?

Gotcha
On a side note, when I use sizes like a4 and a5 when talking to American friends, they never know what I mean.
