How can you not love Ura? He’s everything I want in a rikishi. What’s most impressive to me is his balance of playfulness with complete and genuine commitment and respect to sumo. He clearly loves the sport and manages to take it very seriously whilst not taking himself very seriously at all, it seems.

With his experience, insight, humor and ability to communicate he'll make a good coach, that's for sure.
When he'll go for that next evolution of his career is up to... well, to be honest, mostly his knees I guess. He's young, strong and fast enough to last some more years in mind and core, but his knees will dictate his future if he's wise on top of everything. He won't make yokozuna and leaving while he can still walk would be what I'd recommend.
A coache's life pays less, but brings more respect and, let's be honest: The pay isn't catastrophic. 🙂

Everyone is rushing to the winner in order to request the next match. The winner essentially stays in until they lose so everyone is showing their enthusiasm when they rush to request a challenge. The winner then chooses someone who challenges like that. You can see Ura just quickly points or grabs his next opponent from the people that are making a request.

I remember Ura before his knee injuries, and he was amazing! He would run at his opponent. Over and over sometimes. It didn't matter the size or rank of his opponent. He hurled himself! And he used moves nobody else used thanks to his experience before sumo wrestling. He is passionate. He is humble and kind. He is witty and charms with his lovely smile. He leaves it all on the dohyo.
And he didn't give up! It took him years to climb back to makunouchi after his devastating injuries. Just like Terunofuji.
    He is URA!!! 🩷
