I had the occasion to drive a 2014 R line and I can say that it’s beautiful!!! I’ve been from Cambridgeshire to Oban ‘ about 450 miles with 10 min stop and I can say that is comfortable as well !!! The car I was driving had as well 230000 miles with 1 injector replacement and 1 window wiper motor in all her life!!! If you look after them they are running forever!!!! This was my experience!!! About another I don’t know!!!! Nice 🚘
thanks for the great review, just bought the V8 version of this model, absolutely fantastic vehicle. so glad it dosen't waste space and weight on 7 seats.
Few points - 2 SD card slots for the infotainment system, middle slot is for the SIM card. The media cable connection system is in the middle armrest - it works as standard USB. And it charges your devices. I thought the 21" wheels are not standard, I believe? How many people want seven seats? Put a couple of stools in the back.
Love the Touareg and I’m looking for a 2016 is model with 30-40.000 miles on the clock.I do have a VW Golf and a 2012 Audi A6 S Line. A6 is a beautiful car to ride in pure luxury and I bought it at 2.5 years old with 22.000 miles now has 91.000 miles on the clock and apart from serving and tyres it’s cost me nothing. But I need something higher up to get in and out and still have some luxury.
For the sake of beeing technically correct: the gearbox in this car is a torque converter automatic with 8 speed from Aisin, no DSG. Take 15 seconds and read the technical description before you missinform other people.

I wasted nearly 50kGBP on an R line 262 (2015) model, steer clear. Car dangerously coasts when stoping, Sat-Nav requires a paid for SIM service @ 20GBP/month, gears change pedestrianly slow. Was also ripped off by the VW Dealer with the service contract; bought a 4 year plan, was given a 2 year plan by VW and then they refused to acknowledge their mistake.
Stewart Manc's the coasting when stopping will be regen braking. The other stuff is down to you to check out on a test drive. If you where miss sold a service pack that's easy to fix. More like stupid buyer rather than anything else.
I tried a 2014 R-Line in 2017 and I approve the dangerous coasting issue....I tried 2 last year as well and ended up with an Infiniti which rides beautiful, but sucks gas like crazy!
You forgot to mention, prices for parts ??? Brake pads, clutch etc, if you could add list of prices within the video, as that would save me a lot of time.
Ban Powel I replied to a similar comment before. I’m only reviewing the car, you need to contact the dealers service department for pricing on parts, no automotive reviewer prices parts like that.
@@ShanesAutos true, but part prices, should be part of the review, so that one can determine whether is a feasable purchase, you could add a list of parts and prices at the end of the video, and dealer locations.
Ban Powel ok but are you expecting me to list every single part and it’s price in each car I review? Prices are also available on websites like Micks Garage.

great video, but it seems inferior to all of the competition in almost every way. I wanted one of these until went and looked at an x5 and q7. The x5 is a little smaller but miles ahead in every other way.
Its about the price, obviously an X5 or Q7 are much nicer, but in the used market u are looking at a price difference of 10k between a almost fully specced Touareg and X5. So the Touareg is a pretty good car for that. However when buying it new, the price difference is not that much and i would as well go for the X5 or Q7.

To those of you saying its not a DSG gearbox, you are correct. Upon researching the Touareg one review I read claimed it was a DSG
Touareg is Tiptronic 8 gears, DSG don’t support hight torque of this engines.

G'day Shane, liked your review very informative, considering buying a Touareg to do some road tripping in comfort here in OZ.

Nice reviews, thanks mate...
Thanks 👍
it's not a DSG!!
Marc Windisch Not according to the articles and reviews ive seen
have u check vw homepage? ;-) helps :-)
Marc Windisch All it says on VW Irelands page is tiptronic. When I researched the car DSG came up on every article I read.
Marc Windisch even says DSG in this video so are you sure your not wrong??

Okay
No adaptive cruise control as standard !
giggsirish apparently not
Camera is bouncing everywhere, cameras focus is bad and there isnt a clear story of the car. Very messy video. But still I watched it to the the end.
