ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

When Shawn pretended to be the judge i didn't trust him as a neutral being, but Gen so perfectly walks the line between callous and sympathetic it's incredible.
IKR
Honestly Im blown away by how much she lets the good guys get away with. She may be a spurce pf conflict sometimes but she gives them such outlandish opportunities that even though Im rooting for them I cant help but question it.
Yeah Shawn as a Judge was mostly bias
@@shihoblade Well being fair means giving opportunities.
@@shihoblade even if her reason for giving the good guys leeway seems to boil down to "I haven't had an actual case since Mindy St. Clair and I'm SUPER bored"
"well, maybe you should have thought about that " I expected the line but not the arm movement.
There was so much arm movement in this scene that when I watched this the first time I expected it to cut to the other demons and find out she was a fake judge puppet or something ...
AHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Based on what I hear from the podcast, nobody told Maya Rudolph to do that
Yeah lmao! I was there
tredlow I believe that
The doorman is such an unsung hero!
RIGHT?? I was so surprised lol
That doorman is Kurt Hummel's dad.
Tbh . Micheal was smart bringing him back frog memorabilia
his NAME is JEFF
His love of frogs is so cute! The little smile he gave when he got the mug from Michael get s me everytime :,)
QUEEN OF ARM MOVEMENTS
1:40
Lmao
AHHHHHHH YASSS TYSMMMM
It's majestic
T Electronix ikr i cant stop laughing
This scene could have easily been delivered in some mundane way and it'd be totally unremarkable, but Maya's delivery turns this into comedic gold
IKR honestly the whole show is full of funny writing and great actors
i think maya was born for this role!
Maya is a freakin genius..the arm movement wow
IKR that made me giggle
My favorite part in the whole series!!!
I love how she casually throws the demon into the infinite void without even blinking
I think she sent him back violently
And we see him again, still falling through the void in the final episode.
“England left Europe”
HELP ME I’VE BEEN LAUGHING FOR 5 MINUTES STRAIGHT
Inconceivable! They've only hated Europe since, like, Rome invaded. And to be exact, Great Britain left Europe. Don't call the Welsh, Scots, or Irish, English, they get super pissed.
Steven Kies
I think the judge says ‘England’ and ‘Europe’ because being impartial, she doesn’t know enough about the issue to speak about it in a correct and nuanced way
The United Kingdom left the European Union, it wasn’t just. England and we didn’t leave Europe
Trump became president! Oh fork that's worse than the Jaguars event
even though that's completely wrong
the uk (not england) left the european union (not europe)
I cannot get over the pace of this show! In any other hands, we wouldn't be getting "the judge finds out" until, at minimum, the mid-season break, and here it's in the second episode. Honestly, having a television show, especially a comedy, where I have no idea what is going to happen next is blowing me away.
David Cervera I know right! It’s really amazing how it doesn’t drag stuff out and makes for something really entertaining.
Mike Shur (I think, if not it was of the other top bananas) said they always want to get to a plot development before the audience expects it.
this is the first time I’ve watched a show without so much unnecessary filler I was in shock when I saw the pacing of this season
David Cervera same here
David Cervera I know right? It's one of the reasons why I love this show, every twist and turn is great.
I like how Derek (I know that's not Adam Scott's real name but that's my mental image of him) was built up to be a big threat to the group, because he came from the bad place to destabilize them and he'd been in all of the afterlife infomercials...
...But they all pretty much just ignored him the whole time and even the judge is having none of it and just flicks him off into the giant abyss of singularity and nothingness.
Omg, Maya's body language makes this scene!!!
Why waving your arms is not funny.
It is when you think about an ancient demi-god doing it! Also, it is Maya, and she is doing stuff, that is always funny!

What’s wrong with Angela?
San Pol really? we talked about UN and UNA today in spanish (i have spanish on monday's and friday's) and i don't think that's how you correctly use UNA but then again i'm not that sure
“Also, the Jacksonville Jaguars are good now”
“Impossible!”
that cracked me up
they are good now too...
So wait. Are they trying to say that every bizarre event that defies reason that's happened in the last couple of years is because of Michael's interference with four humans? Because that is amazing!
Yes. They are.
It's probably the reason La La Land didnt win
No. Lala land didn't win because moonlight was a better movie.
@@josheydubs hey y'all I was Just kidding. Let's not fight or get delusional
Because of you, England is leaving Europe. Way to go Michael...
I love the Judge. Maya Rudolph is wonderful.
Aww thank you so much! I will tell her (she's my mom) also I was there when they fimled this scene!!!!!!!!!
@@pearlminnie35 OMG! u are so lucky to have a mom so talent, i think i watched the 4 episodes that she shows up a 20 times. I just love her character
Pearl Anderson she is actually your mom or are you joking
not joking
It's so nice. People are so sweet and supportive :)
i hope we get to see the judge in every episode. and i hope when i die maya rudolph tells me i'm going to the bad place.
she's my mom :) I promise XD she won't send you to the bad place XD XD
@@pearlminnie35 Tell your parents I love both of them!
Pearl Anderson please tell your father "Phantom Thread" is the best movie ever made and Cyril Woodville is the badass we needed in our lives. "Don’t pick a fight with me, you certainly won’t come out alive.. i’ll go right through you and it would be you who ends up on the floor" is the greatest line ever written.
Just accept her offer for chips and guac and keep asking for more, talk about her life, ask her to tell you and be interested (don't act, she'll be able to tell). Better start practicing being interested in boring stuff now... So... when I was a kid....

Gen the Judge is terrifying in this scene. Actually, she seems to be even more ruthless than demons, but just more curious to try things out (perhaps simply out of boredom)
Ravenus Augustus
Well this is only fourth case in all of eternity.
Matthew
According to Michael, I believe she turned down the rest, sending them to the bad place, just to finish her meal.
I agree we are looking at her as a cool judge but she might be an antagonist just like the others that's what I've been predicting
@@cesarsain3731 She has been pretty reasonable this whole time and everybody is taking advantage of her. The good point system sucks but she isn't the one who created it. She saw their case even though they didn't have the proper paperwork. She gave the humans second chances when none of them really deserved it. Three of them failed her tests miserably showing that they were the same failed people they were when they were sent to the bad place in the first place. Eleanor who didn't fail still threw away her ticket to the good place. And then she gives them a phenomenal third chance where she resets time and fate for just four unimportant humans. And then Michael throws that back in her face with his tampering.
Antagonist? More like the most infinitely patient and kindest person in the cosmos.
shihoblade Nope because Michael system is proof that the system I flawed, so how many good people are suffering because they were not practically perfect.
“They Escaped.”
“YEAH, I KNOW JEFF, THANKS.”
Katsuki Bakugou all u had to do was get the quote right dude
Ben Ross This is like a year late lololol.
Lol
Maya Rudolph should be promoted as a regular cast member
I mean she basically is to be fair, she's like the 7th or 8th most main character
I think at this point she's the closest thing to a primary antagonist the show has, so yeah, main character
@@stevenhiggins3055 She's not really an antagonist. I think Shawn is supposed to be the primary antagonist
@@stevenhiggins3055 she's actually neutral but yeah she's a pain in the ass

I love the judge,
THE GREATEST SHOWMAN MADE 400 MILLION DOLLARS!!! THAT RIPPLES OUT MAN
Cinehotties Productions
To be fair it wasn’t michael’s fault. After Zach Efron was naked in “Dirty Grandpa” every gay man the world over watches everything he does to see if we’ll ever get frontal nudity.
The PG rating didn't warn them that wouldn't be the case?
I love how this was the last time we saw Trevor, at least so far because he might re-appear in season 4. Regardless it's amazing how he got yeeted into eternity because the judge got sick of him
ye...they don't really make a big deal of the demons dying.
[S04 SPOILER]
When Tahani decides to become architect and she and Micheal comes to doorman for the key, you can see tiny Trevor screaming and flying past the screen for a second.
@@TheSendhu Yes! Very easy to miss, but hilarious call back
Trevor is seen twice again. Once before they enter IHOP, and later on when Michael escorts Tahani to the architects' office.
best scene of the episode imo
I love the fact that the immortal keeper of the door to humanity, likes frogs
I am not American, so I had to google to see if Blake Bortles is a real person. I had always assumed it was a joke name, but apparently he is real.
I'm American and I didnt know that
He and the jaguars suck agains so the balance is restore lmao
I live in J-ville, but I don't follow sports, so I had no clue who it was. I remember looking up subtitles to try and find out what Jason said when he burned Acidcat's speedboat.

Being one of the Jaguars, and thus part of Florida, he's part of the Florida duality: Much like how some things function as both particles and waves, Florida is simultaneously reality and deranged sad mockery of reality.
“It ripples out! Weird stuff is happening!”
*cries in 2020*
Love Maya, and the world building, and am just obsessed with this scene!
1:40 is all I need to be convinced that Maya Rudolph deserves an Emmy for this show.
It’d be so annoying if anyone else, ANYONE, did that!
Ms. Rudolph is a genius!
I think the coolest part about this for me (aside from Maya Rudolph being phenomenal as usual and the moment with Jeff throwing Michael the key) was how the credits were set up to roll at the lowest point of the interaction when Michael and Janet were about to be essentially exterminated, and finish at a point where you thought the episode would have been about to end. And _then_ Janet's first little 'bloop' and "My powers are back online" turns the entire thing around again suddenly, when you least expect it.
Rumour has it Ariana Grande was inspired by Maya Rudolph for God is a Woman
How would that play out
Alanis Morissette was God in Dogma
This is one of the best comedies I've ever seen.
Because of Michael and Janet The Greatest Showman made a lot of money, The Jaguars and Bortles are good, and England left the EU?!

how dare they walk that tightrope hahah
Because the UK is "England" only to the ignorant . . .

@@scottwilkinson8378 Well, Scotland and Northern Ireland did both vote Remain...

Legend has it that Trevor is still roaming in that void
Trevor is still flying to this day. You can see him in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment in the series finale.
You can still see him in Season 3 Episode 11, still flying away. Hahaha 😂😂😂
When she flicked Trevor away so effortlessly, I was like “Oh, shirt, this judge is forking powerful, and they pissed her off!”
