Hans, thanks for watching, agreed, it is unfortunate for all of us. I wish I could have done more to help retrieve the guitar when it went up for auction. Sadly I didn't really know what to do at the time. The shipping company basically washed their hands of the lost, then sold off the lost package, which then went up for auction. Ugh, still makes me sick. I hope tombe posting this story on a number of guitar/bass forums ( I should have done that a long time ago ). Mayb it will turn up someday. Hope you are doing well, take care!
Pino, thanks for watching! Yes, it was a terrible situation. We are hoping that someone will see the video and recognize the bass, but that's a long-shot at this point. As for a 5-string bass build series. That is on the to-do list. It may happen in '24, but there are a few projects ahead of it at this time. Thanks again for watching, be safe and take care!
Mithat, thanks for watching! A bass build is on the to-do list. I'm torn between 34 and 35" scale length, and 4 or 5 string... decisions, decisions. Since I've never built a bass before, I'll probably go 4 string... maybe. IDK. Hope all is well, take care!
Glad to do this, and I should have done this some time ago. I honestly didn't think the channel was big enough to catch anyone's attention, but we can hope it will. It would be a great project - it will be a great project. Take care!
In the last ten years I've had at least a half dozen items disappear during shipment. Luckily I've never been "out of Pocket" as the sender has refunded the purchase price. The items always seem to end up in Chicago and then disappear according to the tracking numbers.
Chicago you say, interesting. I was doing a tally of missing/lost/late packages too, it was a bit shocking. I have to add that it doesn't seem to matter which carrier is used, it just happens.
You didn't get to see who bought it on ebay by any chance? Tried contacting ebay with the info you have (auction number, seller, pictures etc.) to maybe get a lead to follow from there? Just an idea, who knows... It's not clear to me: how long is it since the shipping / the auction?
PTRarch, thanks for watching and greatly appreciate the search ideas. It's been some time now since the ebay auction ended, I probably still have the auction info on hand - somewhere. I don't recall if I attempted to contact ebay at the time, but that would have been a great idea - if I didn't, I should have done that. I kinda dropped the ball on the search after losing contact with the re-seller Cargo Largo. I'll dig through my docs and see what old clues I can dig up. I'm also looking at posting "lost guitar" threads on some guitar forums, at least there are pictures to share. Too many projects - not enough time. Hope all is well, take care!
There is a Japanese channel which is called “Studio Asyl”, he cleans up dirty and grimy guitars and basses like this one. The only thing that bugs me are the cheap strings he puts on to give a tone demo.
Ah it's a shame that this guitar has been lost. We def need more bass content ;-) Hopefully it turns up some day
Thanks for watching, I need to find some forums and such...to spread the word.
I hope it will surface again.
Spread the word, take care!
That really blows man., I'll keep eyes out for it here in Florida...👍
Thanks for watching!
Spread the word, and we'll hope it comes to the surface soon.
Take care!
This is very unfortunate. I feel for the original owner for sure and it sucks nearly as much as for you. Stay safe.

A fun project while you're waiting for closure on this might be to recreate the bass!
