Wonderful tutorial! Is it possible to make these mitts out of other materials, too? Silk is quite expensive and I would never use them for everyday wear.
May we have more info on your 3 color chalk pencil? I've searched but I can't find a chalk mechanical pencil with 3 colors or with the very fine point that yours has.
After much searching it doesn't seem like they manufacture this model of pencil anymore. We do carry a single color extra fine mechanical pencil from Bohin on our website, though, if you would like to see that one.
Please, don't use Frixion pens. If you wear your clothes in cold winter weather, the marks come back. They reappear at -10C/14F, but can start to do so at 4C/39F. Sometimes they also bleach your fabric.
Great Instructions! I appreciate you adding things To Do as well as Things Not To Do (for best results).
Practice makes progress...
What a wonderful sewing project! Thanks for sharing!
What lovely mitts! I can't wait to see Angela model them
Thank you. So very helpful!
Although gloving leather is hard to get hold of, I had success with some sold for bookbinding
These look lovely!
I'm curious as to why you didn't use lighter fabric -- it would have been much easier to see the hemming. Did people not make colored mits?
That’s my fault (Angela) Melissa was making them for me . We realize now a lighter color would have worked better for the camera 🙄
do you have a link for the chalk pen? I can only find the type with a wheel. thanks

I've seen wool and linen ones too.

Yes we mention this in the video
started watching for historical fashion reasons and now I am thinking, I can probably use them as sun shield driving gloves...
