What we need to see next on a layout is a chap on his motorbike with a super-tiny model strapped across it! Enjoyed today’s update. Thanks

Thank you Mike for sharing another great looking layout. The medium radius points and ballast make this layout look really good.

As always, every time you stick a video up, there is something to learn. That is why I truly enjoy watching your videos, you explode the myth that you have to pay lot of hard earned £ to enjoy playing trains.
Keep up the good work, it’s very much appreciated by this old fool.

Another excellent layout, Mike. I've found with ballasting, that less is more, especially on a branch line. A trick I picked up for ballasting points is to set them on a piece of packing or similar sticky tape sticky side up and ballast them before you put them in place, trimming around the edges of the ties. If the tape interferes with the throw of the points, you can trim that bit away. Lovely thing about Peco is with the detail around the points you can't see if there's any ballast there anyway. I love those Gaugemaster backscenes. Unfortunately, the local vendor who dealt solely in British railway items I used to visit at the local shows has taken retirement and shut his business.

Well done Mike, this looks great and has a prototypical feel to it. Meanwhile poor Mrs Budget has been sent to the local tip shop to hoover-up secondhand track for your project 😮 As regards transport to exhibitions I think that you could go the way of Wallace & Gromit (or George & Mildred!) and get a sidecar for your motorbike. With a little ingenuity the layout could easily run off of your motorbike battery via a couple of long leads. Whaddya think?😊 Thanks for sharing and best wishes to you, Dudley

Great idea but it's only a slow 125 so a sidecar would bring it to a standstill lol

It really is amazing how a simple small layout can bring so much operating potential. You don't need a marshalling yard with multiple kickback sidings in order to have fun shunting.

@@daviemaclean61 would be funny though. Many years ago I used to sell equestrian gifts. One of my samples was a 4ft long plush cuddly horse. I used to sit it on the front passenger seat with a seat belt on and it's head looking out. I could then unobserved wave it's leg. I used to get some great looks in stationary traffic on the M25 lol

Your more recent small layouts have given me hope for my 13'x41' loop layout I'm making right now. Using a mix of Kato unitrack and random bits of n scale track I had. Will be running both n scale and 009 on it. With 6' radius curves I'm going to only be able to run small train, but I'd rather run small locos than no locos haha. Keep making vids!

Lovely, as always. I do ballasting on my layouts because it helps me switch my brain off after a busy day. The glue does get in the wrong places, though, so this negates the calming effect 🤔. 2nd radius helps with coupling too .

I tend to use Kato unitrack and normally add ballast for a more realistic look. Nice that I have a lot of fine grade sitting on the shelf - no additional cost. Most of my shelf layouts have 40’ wagons on them and the curve with a long enough head shunt allows me to add one extra wagon to the mix.
I’ve never purchased or painted a back scene. I’ll give Gauge Masters a look. And again, nice video presentation of your concept.
