Thank you so much Doug for constantly posting through these tough and crazy times and making sure everyone is happy. Everyday is a happy day when you post a video. Also would like to thank you for getting me hooked on the best hobby ever.
Möonrose Rosemöon Magical Drawings I’m sorry that isn’t quite what I meant, I know that many hobbies are just as amazing to others and that everyone should love whatever their hobby is. I was just saying that for me and for many others I’m sure, this is one of the best hobbies. Sorry I wrote it in a way that it could be misinterpreted. Thank you for the constructive feedback and I will be sure to contemplate my comments before posting them. I also believe in creative independence and that it is extremely important for people to branch into and discover their own creative interests and peace. However, I am a very beginner and also believe that in order to properly achieve the goal of finding that creative patch in your brain that you need a teacher, and Doug is my favorite. He goes at a pace and clearly explains each step while also keeping the audience entertained. So Doug if you do read this, I’m sorry and I didn’t mean to put any pressure on you to post videos, I and I’m sure many others would like you to enjoy what you do and not feel any pressure or stress to put out content. But, your content is always top notch and I always smilie when I see your video in my subscription box. Keep doing what your doing Doug.
Hey Doug, do you have any plans of showing us how to carve your hiker? He’s probably one of my favorites and would love to try it alongside your tutorial. Thanks
Hey Doug, Really like your channel. I've carved many of your carvings. I'm carving the gnome now. I would like to try carving this one too. I'm guessing the starting block on this carving was around 5''x2''x2''. Is that correct? I might try carving this one from pictures I clip from the UA-cam video. Just need a starting size, please?
Hey Doug, Just wanted to say something. I started watching your videos for the Bush craft and trips. I've never had any desire to carve or anything like that. That being said I still watch all your videos and I enjoy every single one. I appreciate what you do and in these weird times I just wanted to say thanks and keep it up.

Little Yule Gibbons, I love it. He's a different style of character than some. Exploring the different painting techniques is fun too. Great job Doug as usual. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you Doug. You make it all look so easy. I have everything but knives to start. Got a gunny bag full of Bass Wood from my son who moved to Alaska. I’m in no hurry. Just bowing to others, and haven’t had to curtsy YET.
Mr. Doug he is wonderful. I wish I could get close to your level. I am working on it. Maybe if I would have tried before age 59, but now I am 60. This virus though has given me lots of time to keep trying. Stay safe and well. Thanks for these videos, you have inspired me.
Always love your videos! Your personality is great...don't change a thing. I missed your live , but watched it later! I'll try to catch the next one! Stay healthy!
Good evening . Thank you as always for a great video. I really appreciate you showing the dry brushing. I have seen it finished but never how to. So thank you.

You're carving their looks lighten the bow hunter Dan Fitz Gerald Fitz Gerald outdoors. Thank you for the video I really enjoy it! God bless you and your family!🙏
Hey Doug, I have watched a number of other woodcarvers with a similar style as yours, but I have to admit, very few of them perform virtually real time demonstrations like you, or talk to your audience like you do for us here. You never insult or belittle - always encouraging us to take a stab at it, knowing we all had to start somewhere. I also look forward to your videos because you make me feel like I'm there with you and you're showing this trained monkey how it's done. I know I'll regret the day you stop creating new projects like these - to include your video on making a stropping board that I copied for myself (I made two, LOL). Keep up the great work. I always look forward to you next cool carving. Stay well.
Your content is exactly what I need during this Covid-19 crisis. I get so happy when I see that you have posted something new. Greetings from rainy California.
Greetings from Norway 😊Thanks for your channel. Much appreciated 😊 I’ve ordered my first carving knife and are looking forward to try out some carving. Great tutorials you have.
You are just such a talented man. Was a lot of fun watching you paint this little hiker. I use to do wood crafts and tole painting so enjoyed this immensely. I agree with you I like the stain version over straight up paint. Would love to see you and your wife do some crafting together again. Your whole family is very talented. Keep up the great work. I also enjoyed your live chat last night. By the way who has the cleanest craft room you or your wife? Yours is very organized.😘
I do not have a paint pallet. I use the empty, clean meat trays from the grocery store. I then just toss them out when i am done. Loved the little guy.
Quite relaxing to watch. I love how the colors look when you have them watered down. I have done 9 carvings so far and haven't painted a single one yet because I'm scared I'll mess them up. lol Thanks for the video.
Hello Dug: I'm getting my first carving set and i as all ways trying to make a spoon with only a robust Mora i did ok but it's not good enough. And i have a beginner carving set and I'm a little excited. For the carving set.
Hey Doug, you and your wife, should make back bropps of scenery to stage and do a short story with your carvings. Like come up with a funny joke, like what did the hiker said to the bear 🐻 in the woods. Give that some thought making a small staging that looks like they are in the woods on a mountain ⛰. Each one of your carvings can tell a story from the looks of them.
Hi Doug, i realy wanna make this carving and i was wondering if you maybe have a video on how to make on of these, id rly want to make one. Great vid as always😍
Watched your live video last night. Was sorry to hear you stating you where to old for canoe trips now. Hey an overnighted ain’t so bad, love seeing you catch fish. Wish I was 50 again. 👁🛶👁
Great video Doug! I was wondering if you would share a link to where you get the very fine detail brushes? The one you did the white of the eyes. I enjoy all you share whether it’s carving or trekking thru the outdoors. Thank you for allowing me to tag along.

Doug thank you this was great. I need to do a carving to tryout the eye technique. I really needed a full show just on painting.
Doug, a good sealer is shellac. It dries in about 30 minutes.
Very nice painting
Great 1/2 hour Doug.

Does the linseed oil keep the paint from just getting sucked in like crazy?
he looks great as do all his friends ;-)
