Has this happened to anyone else: Uber Share trips are being combined (probably) to show one big amount in the upfront fare. So you accept the ride not knowing that another ride has already been loaded behind it. That's a dirty, deceptive trick!
This was during rush hour. Trip said "$30"; rider got in the car. GPS then automatically updated to pick up second passenger I didn't know was added. The app did not say, "(2nd) Rider Added" or whatever it normally says. Boston rush hour is brutal so I was like, "Yeah, I'm cool with one passenger at $30". I can focus on providing great service. When I dropped her off, Uber paid me $8 bucks for the trip. I was like, "Hol' the f@ck up!" Livid at this point. Went thru the AI support bs and it adjusted my fare to...get this...$8.03!!!!!! LOL. It's, "Get the straps" time FFS. End result: got my "$30"!!!! Screenshot everything guys.
I started my night trying door dash after 30 minutes no offers I swicthed to Uber Eats, I delcined the 1st 3 offers only to keep getting them so after 50 minutes of not a single delivery on either app I packed it in and went hope I not spending 25 minutes for $6.20 that is like 0.248 a minute or $14.88 an hour if I work that full hour. below the minium wage in Massachusetts is $15.00 food delivery drivers should be making at least that. They even sent me twice a 20 minute for $4.10 .... I rather sit at home and do rider share later or enjoy my time off from my full time job that pays over $29.00 an hour
I'm Illinois and I don't have upfront fare not only that we don't get paid to pick up unless it's premium and that's only .11 cents a minute so I drive 5 mile to pick up and they to 2 miles I'll get $3.44 it's bullshit
Happens to all of us. Ended up in CT from MA recently (1.5hr drive one way). Rider was appreciative so that meant something. Didn't help my bottom line though.
It is absolutely unfair labor practice the way they currently are running we do not want to be employees but we are not allowed to set our own price most of the time Uber's rides are so low paid to the driver that it is not even complying with state minimum wage after I take my costs and consideration they may be able to say the grosses 18 or 19 or even $20 an hour but by the time I can consider my gas insurance tires any other repairs like oil changes or anything else that I have to do to my car I'm barely making half of whatever the gross amount is on this ride.
Uber made some changes folks do not take those long pickups offers they are shaving off your earnings just had an argument with them about it they offered me 12 bucks from a 13 mile pick up to drop off 3 miles offer was 12 bucks before pick up after drop off it was $9.27
Sergio...yes i have seen lower than that. I have seen $1.50 and i have seen just a few cents more than the 2.10 for 2 pickups and dropoffs. My AR on UE a year ago was between 35-40%, now it is 4%
Speaking of tolls... Why is it ok for these apps to not tell us when a request is an "AVOID TOLLS" trip? Because they know we will just not accept them. This is a huge deal to me in FL. It increases my cancellation rate for no real reason. They could just tell me up front.
I don't get it. You mean you WANT to pay tolls? I would accept "AVOID TOLLS" trip all day long. I hate getting a $200 toll bill at the end of the month.
In Chicago last week when I went online Uber had both Rides and eats (the only choices it gives us) active. At least it did on my phone and my app. I have never done and will never do eats. That's just not my thing. Eats is a fundamentally different grind. At some point they will basically give no choice.
That’s weird. I’m in Chicago too and I haven’t seen that. I would NEVER do food. They ARE f@cking me on the early morning Reserved trips to the airports. Their navi systems seem incapable of monitoring traffic. The app tells me when to leave and which route to take and it ALWAYS tells me to jump on the Kennedy Inbound . WHAT!? Apparently they didn’t get the memo on the 3 year construction project. I’ll be sitting at a standstill in traffic and the app will issue me a warning that I need to proceed to my destination. Five minutes later, they’ll send another warning, saying I need to head to my destination-or they will give the trip to another driver. Another minute later, the ride will completely disappear from my screen. Followed by a notification that the ride was given to another driver because of lack of progress. So now I am stuck on the Kennedy at 5 am, for no reason because I left when they told me to leave, and took the route they told me to take. And I get $0 for the trouble. That happens a couple of times a week. It’s idiotic.
What's crazy is my sister doesn't even have a license but has a driver account with uber and ubereats. That's the insanity. They are letting anyone even if you don't have a license. That's in Connecticut to. Which is crazy.
Combining comfort highly effects us as drivers. I only ran comfort in thr city and ran comfort and Uberx in the airport because Uberx paid better at the airport but it's my right as an independent contractor to choose whether or not I want to run Uberx. I have a nice car and uberx riders around the city are usually sketchy and disrespectful while comfort riders tend to be much nicer and better tippers. So I choose go only run comfort but not I'm being forced to decline uberx trips I don't want and my market has advantage mode and talking to other drivers in standard mode they struggle to make any money. So if I'm an independent contractor I should have the right to choose what trips I want coming to me. I'm royally pissed off about this.
I’m a new uber/lyft driver and located in Newburgh NY area. And interested to to know how can increase earnings and how to determine which rides to take and what not to take. Appreciate you guys giving me information and updates
I need help with what happened to me and what can I do legally suing or not. I was in a car accident while in period 2 on my way to pick up. The other driver was at fault. She didn’t have Bodily injury liability coverage since Florida doesn’t require it, and Uber insurance said they don’t have Uninsured/Underinsured coverage since Florida doesn’t require that either. My personal car insurance with State Farm I have only 10k UM on it. Should I sue Uber or the driver?
The whole point of rideshare is to be independent - that way we can choose our time, rides and write offs. If we are employees then the ride share companies could make their employees take rides, work set hours, etc.
Another complaint I have. Upfront fares can be accepted or declined. If you don't like the fare, Uber says then don't take it. Then your acceptance rate goes down. It is really discouraging as a Diamond driver. Two choices to keep my status. Take all the garbage or lose my status. My expenses are skyrocketing. I am driving further for less money. I don't see how Uber business model can continue to succeed. Riders paying more or they can't get drivers to accept their trips and under upfront fares. The only ones who seem to grab the low fares are the high phase drivers. I am thinking about just giving up on Diamond status because I can not afford to keep it.
I am a rideshare driver in Orlando Fl and the first time I tried the order side Uber eats it was looking for a red Tacoma with a Hispanic male driver. I got no communication from the driver until they said they couldn't find me I'm looking around for this red Tacoma and finally I told the driver don't leave with my food meet me at the apartment complexes office. I went to the office could not find the vehicle when finally I saw Venezuelan woman standing outside of her Lexus SUV with her real estate license and picture on the side. And the only thing she could say was please don't give me bad star. They check my face almost every time I go online. So I definitely reported the them.
O logged in tonight 9/25 to change from rideshare to uber eats, when I went to switch back it allowed me to check Comfort only here in Boston Market , I had to go back and check x and share rides so I could get those offers also. so is it in select markets they are allowing Comfort only ?
is the 64 cents in Boston going to the employee benefits that the agrred to start providing , they are rolling out Oct 1 according to a message I got today from Uber. I have yet to drive for Lyft. My active hour I am doing like $34.00 but this is a side gig as I have a full time job that pays over $29 hr even if I just sitting there.
