Idk why Heroine isn't getting like twice the amount of respect The Dark Pool had. This album is so fuckin enjoyable on a technical and catchy song-writing level. The Dark Pool is for nerds. This album is for everyone
I would say this album is definitely not for everyone, it is literally sexcore, and not alot of people can image listening to these lyrics, some people think this is just too "gay" from them. I am not one of them but people either love it or hate it for some reason
@@peterkondas1685 I would say it's for everyone. They still play nerdy riffs, and sex as the theme is pretty universal unless you don't get any. I know you like the album too and I'm not trying to dig into you but I think you were on to something I was trying to describe. "Sexcore" in general is pretty frowned upon in hardcore and progressive metal. I don't know why, maybe it's because this is a corner of heavy music for bro-dudes and nerds, but any kind of "fruitiness" is frowned upon here and it takes the fun and free spirit out of rock music and turns it into an incel cult. Hot take, I know, but also don't like the un-ironic toxically masculine way my music with breakdowns comes across sometimes
@@cummywummy2896 I agree with you on this topic, TDP was really something else comparing to Heroine, mainly because it´s about different topics, some people may say Heroine has "easier" topics. Where TDP is about existence, meaning of everything, it is "spacey", Heroine is about love, breaking heart etc.. you get me. TDP for me is something to listen to while looking at sunset and stars, and Heroine is music that creates these stories about making love to someone while wearing tucked shirt, boots that elvis used to wear and black eye makeup.(I dont even know how is that style called)
@@peterkondas1685 I guess The Dark Pool yeah is kind of nebulous. Like of the stars and soul. Heroine is more like the vibe of modern noir and romance, fame and defaming, etc. Kind of just dark and more psychological but also more of a vibe than anything. I do get why that may not be that engaging if you're not into the aesthetic but the aesthetic is done well regardless. They definitely nailed the influences of Muse and Deftones and gave it a vintage feel Edit: also I like that Heroine is somewhat of a rock album despite using explicitly Djent riffs. It's kind of amazing how they pulled it off and I guess I don't get the hate because this was obviously a passionate release
so good

@cummy wummy totally agree with you, there is only one song, Valentine, which I can't really get into, for some reason I am unable to like it.
Tenor or high baritone?
