I just picked up a 90s 4tec for 20 bucks at a swap meet 2 weeks ago, swapped in the titan and xl5 threw a 2s in it and I’m loving it ha I’m normally a nitro guy
That’s the same chassis I started my second drift build with. I don’t have smooth concrete out in the country, so awd is the way to go. I used a Datsun 510 truck body... with a weathered paint job... it looked amazing!
Dude idk what it is with them rims turn any ride into work of art, love the svt something differnt. I dont own one but deff want one ! We race tt02s at my local shop, but these are allowed too for now. Sweet vid
Awesome. I just got into rc and bought a used traxxas rustler vxl that had been upgraded anf i added more upgrades but there arent any good places near me to run it. No tracks or dirt areas. Mainly grassy fields which get boring quick and can cause it to over heat if you run it much in the grass. Even with cooling fans added. Anyway ive wanted to get into drifting but again no tracks near me so even buying a drift car there are no tracks anywhere near me. But there are plenty of asphalt parking lots around that i can drift around in. So im getting one of these but im going to use the 3s lipo batteries i already have. Probably wear out tires alot with the 3s batteries but thats ok. Lol.
Mst is a 10th scale, I have both of these, the mst I only recommend for indoors. It’s quite boring outdoors unless it’s really smooth. More for slower and scale drifting. 4tec is a blast with any surface
I’m getting a brushed 4tec today and ima put the same body on it. I’m going with the brushed because there’s a $150 difference and I’m going to use that to get a castle setup
I have a vxl setup from a old rustler 4x4 I am thinking about installing onto my 4tech 2.0 the motor has the 17 tooth for 60mph the rustled just needs its spur gear replaced with a higher quality metal it shredded the wonky plastic one it came with, even with perfect setup it just could handle the power. Lasted a whole 2 years before yeeting its plastic teeth every where
@@thercsyndicate9867 well I like it but it needs a little more power that’s why I used my spare rustler’s esc so now it’s faster also drifting gets harder. I tried the system from the rustler and it helped it a lot so in conclusion I think it is better brushless because of the power
Yeah, IMO, lower gearing for drifting, less chance of cogging, more control at lower speeds. But that advice is coming from someone who drifts with a Felony on 4s. I'm used to a set of tires lasting 3 battery packs only, unfortunately. Felony isn't a professional drift platform anyway, being 4wd, so i know nothing about actual RWD drifting.
I'm in a similar boat. I love my Slash, I love bashing and crawling.. but I really want a car for speed and drifting.. and to me a car with solid plastic tires sliding around the garage floor that can't even do 15mph is cool and all.. but kinda lame. Idk maybe I'll end up with just a fast street car and drifting just doesn't work like that with rc cars.. we'll see.
Seen the 90s electric 4 tec as a kid racing in parking lots and always wanted one glad I waited ...... many years later...... I love my 2.0! Lol

If you used magnets for the body it would lift it up enough so you wouldn’t have to cut or trim that beautiful car👍🏽🔥
That's a awesome review man..getting one now
I think this was all I needed to see, im ordering one 😂 great video!
Nice driving 😁👍🏾
I’ve got a 4 tec 3.0 on the way! Great video! Mine is brushed but really excited for it to arrive! Thanks for the video! You’ve got a new Sub from me!
They haven't made a 3.0 yet so how is that?
Your truck bed is so clean it’s uncomfortable.
Welcome to 2025. His husband likes it clean 😂 jk lol
If you're racing TC class and you want to get rid of the gyro, is it possible?
Nice 👌. Would you please link the website for buying the Cadillac body shell

That sounds dope. This rig was such a blast. I like my crawlers and no prep nova but this was just so much fun.
That was the best intro ever
dope video man boutta go get one

Oh ok see I wasn’t sure about the scale size. The MST kits do look amazing in doors. Maybe later for right now I’m truly enjoying the 4-tec.
I have a traxxas addiction myself
That's my question is how much are you going to have to spend on tires drifting on concrete or asphalt like that? I bet tires will get very expensive.

I absolutely agree with getting the brushed setup and then upgrading. I’m sure you’ll have a blast with it. Thank you for your comment and support.
@@thercsyndicate9867 just picked it up earlier today got the body ordered ended up going with a spektrum 4000kv 2-3s setup.
Hell yeah

Brushed systems arnt ment for Castle but with heavy mods and lots of $ later you should be fine 🙂
The answer is no, look for yokomo yd2 series or mst rmx series rwd car for that.
I got a brushed 4tec but with a ford gt body and all I need are drift tires and a new brushless system (I know what system I’m going to get).
How to you like the brushed setup? It seems like a solid option and maybe brushless not even necessary. Your thoughts?

@@thercsyndicate9867 also I’m trying it on the stock tires not the drift ones. It might change with drift tires I just don’t have them yet
Just bought a used one. Alot of upgrades and aluminum.
I have 3 of them 2 of them i drag race and one i race on road course you can beat them alot they rarely break....

I didn't know Dj Vlad was into rc's
mst kits are 1/10 scale. can fit any car body pretty much with ease
Thank you. I wasn’t sure. I appreciate the clarification.
When you drift, let off the gas slowly, and then press the gas again to stay in track
Although i do like this car, there are far better choices in the same price range, especially in the used market.

ahh this must be the video you were talking about lol.
👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
hahaha we had the same idea and bought the same kit
'
i rather better use a normal 540 / 550 motor size and normal NIMH battery on the car...
too fast then bad crash it, oooop
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe..
