DIY Home Decor - Concrete Spheres for Fire Place

Mortar apparently works fine. This makes me very happy bc i am out of portland and have a whole bag of mortar. Tysm for showing this!

I made these with a real basket ball. It's holds its form perfectly. I cut the ball in half then using duck tape resealed the cut. Cut a 3cm hole in the top to pour in your concrete. Once dry remove tape, take out your concrete ball and then you can reuse the mould many times over. Much cheaper and less waste.

Did you ever have any issues with the concrete exploding with the high heat??
