@@Salutations26 I think you're right. Where was the binder for last year's reunion wasn't that the season all that stuff was said about her husband and baby. Didn't Ashley also say Monique drove into a ditch when she was drunk that one season. This show confused me. I just started following it. Seems like everything Monique was supposedly mad about happened 1 or 2 years ago except her fight with the lady named Candiace.
I don't understand the rules of "shade" on these shows. The popularity of this franchise was built on the audience tuning in for "shade" and "reading," was it not? Phaedra was lauded for making fun of Cynthia's fibroids, mocking Kenya's fertility, saying her dark skin was the color of sheeit, and more. People thought it was a "read" when Nene insinuated that Phaedra's children would grow up to be criminals like Apollo, and thought it was deserved when Marlo mocked Kenya's mother abandoning her. Let's not forget Ashley went so far as to suggest Monique's MISCARRIAGE was caused by her alcoholism!
But somehow I'm supposed to believe that because Candiace fires back in a similar manner, she's hateful, disgusting, vile, a demon, and so on and so forth? What's makes it "worse?" I'm not making excuses for Candiace's mouth, because she always goes overboard. However, you can't make excuse for terrible things to be said by other women, then bulldoze another person for doing the same, simply because you don't like them. I am beyond over the hypocrisy.

The colorism segment was disappointing and poorly handled. All you have to do is look into any RHOP comment section to see what's being said about Candiace and Wendy, and it's truly disgusting. Way too many references to animals, ugliness, jealousy of the other girls' looks, and other "choice words." Someone even compared Candiace to YSAP. Even at their worst, Robyn, Ashley, and Gizelle haven't had that same kind of venom spewed towards them based on them being "pretty." This aspect of the conversation going unacknowledged drove me insane.

Please miss me with this... candiace came out her mouth and called Ashley a bedwench and a roach, and bedwench is such an undeniably racist term. Also came out her mouth to call Monique a ghetto hood rat. Yet when she acts aggressive, nobody is allowed to say what it is? She is aggressive, period.
wait. nobody called out Candiace when she called Ashley a Bedwench which carries a far heavier weight historically that calling someone aggressive. everybody just let that one ride. but when Ashley rightfully called Wendy aggressive for coming at her sideways for bringing her child to a get away, all of a sudden, its colorism this and colorism that. I'm so tired of some dark skinned women using colorism to play victim.
Why did it drive you insane? Comment sections say everything under the sun. It would take them DAYS to rifle through nasty comments and address them. That’s never been part of reunions.
I think the colorist questions should have been directed towards Candiace.

I'll bet after the way she slandered that man, who is not on the show and probably does not have a contract with the show, he is going to sue, as he should. If she doesn't have actual evidence of a DNA and physical evidence of his having sex with women all over Atlanta, her ass will learn. He will surely file a civil suit against her. Texts are not proof of actual sex and where is the proof of everything she was saying. Those text messages don't prove anything. Hear say in written form. I see a huge civil suit. Honestly, it's not just about the fact that Wendy and Candiace have been called "aggressive," "ferocious," and "vile." Idk if you ever watched basketball wives (clues to my ratchet loving ways lol) but last season there was a huge discrepancy in the way the darker skinned girl was treated over the Puerto Rican lighter skinned one (Evelyn lozada). She would throw bottles and jump on tables but if the darker girl (Ogee sp?) would raise her voice, they would call her aggressive and say they’re scared to film with her.
If someone started to cuss me out, call me a bitch and stand over me because I got to bring my baby to a girls weekend and she didn’t, I would feel justified in calling her aggressive. Not everything is colorism. It’s ok to not like Monique or any other cast member specifically but I feel like throwing it around when it doesn’t apply takes the value out of teaching people about true effects of colorism.

But we also can’t pretend someone is not doing the absolute most because they’re dark skinned. To me, it’s about assigning stereotypical qualities a person has.. not actual qualities. Gizelle was at Monique's neck from the first time they met...she came to Monique's house with Cal being rude AF and Monique eventually told them they had to leave. That wasn't a 'this season" take down by Monique. That was a 4 season take down. And yes, Gizelle had it coming.

The colorism comes from Gizelle and Robyn when it comes down to the way they treat Monique. Gizelle uses Candiance as a pawn and Gizelle only likes Wendy due to the AKA status, and Robyn follows. However, Ashley and Candiance are both aggressive af. Robyn was also in the beginning seasons. Wendy was trying to secure a peach and chose the wrong lane to do so.
Monique is so corny bc we all know if Gizelle hadn’t chosen Candiaces side, she’d still be begging for her friendship. The one time she’s had balls since she’s been on this show and it’s against the weakest cast member who actually was a real friend to her. She’s a fraud. She cares more at being in the inner circle with a bunch of women who don’t like or respect her than she does true friendship.
She was never begging for her friendship, I disagree with that. It's called doing your job. If you have to meet Giselle for lunch you smile play nice and go to lunch. This is these people's jobs. We help them keep it by talking about them lol.
