people say he was at his prime in the sixties and seventies, here it is 1990 and he sounds superb to me, such a rich, beautiful quality voice. He hugs his audience!!! hi smile says it all, he looks at the audience like he adores them, and I think he did. like a little boy who knows he did good.
Well said. He is in top, top form here. He gives himself 100% to the audience. Such warmth in the voice, it makes me think of the Italian sunshine on a field of sunflowers. He sounded so lovely in his interviews too, self-effacing, gentle, kind and with an analytical mind. He wanted to bring opera to the masses, well he certainly succeeded in that. We will never forget him. Listening to him always cheers me up, I get the same effect when I listen to my favourite jazz pianist Erroll Garner. RIP Luciano Pavarotti, gone but not forgotten.
