Oh fuck the nostalgia is strong. The shruiken bomb combination especially brought back memories because it was my favorite in the game. When I was 9 that was the coolest shit ever.
Kirby games are my fun. They are the games I play when I need to relax, every single game is a blast of music, relaxation, and enjoyment. 64, Nightmare in Dreamland, Amazing Mirror, Squeak Squad, the Beanstalk one, Robotbot, and others are all just such good times. Thank you for playing 64, and I hope you folks enjoy it and find it as fun/relaxing as I do.
This is my favorite Kirby, no question. Glad to see you all playing this! It’s worth noting that double fire is pretty bad on Phase 1 of Whispy, but if you activate it *just* high enough above his roots on Phase 2, you can get a reliable double hit and trivialize that part of the boss. I’d still take something like the shuriken over double fire, though.
It's great to show off Kirby Al-Phoenix and Kirby Re-Al-Phoenix so close together. And I want to say that it's referencing his Dreamland 2 boss battle.
Well this is a funny coincidence. I added this game to my collection and completed it not too long ago. Should be fun to see your take on it! It's a shame that they never really brought back the power combination mechanics, but at the same time it's also nice to have a larger number of base powers too. This is also one of the N64 games that has aged more gracefully since (unlike most of the N64 library) it actually has a decent frame-rate.
The green block in Dedede's castle can theoretically be destroyed by any Cutter move, the problem is that it has to be one that can hit below Kirby. Ice+Cutter and Rock+Cutter (and maybe Spark+Cutter) can do it fine, but Cutter+Cutter (and maybe Fire+Cutter, but I'm 90% sure it only hits to Kirby's side, been a while since I've played) is the only working combination you can bring to the room if you start the level without an ability.
This game was fantastic. I think my favorite ability was.... bomb plus cutter. it made Kirby throw an explosive ninja star. So awesome. 😎 My brother’s favorite was electric plus ice. Turns Kirby into a fridge throwing food. While I was watching him play he’d just sit there like a troll and try to hit the enemies with food. I just got so fed up. GET ON WITH IT!!
Actually, I do believe that the strongest Whispy Woods is found in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. That would be because unlike most Kirby games, you can actually get upgrades to your stats, and the entire game is four-kirby only, so it's actually balanced around that - and around having a Kirby that can heal and a Kirby that can inflict a timestop (eventually, it takes multiple fully charged hits to activate, but is more effective against flying enemies) in your party. Oh, and pretty much every boss in the game has multiple versions of increasing difficulty, the only exceptions being the ones that are introduced towards the end of the game (and are not called Landia) and the ones that get integrated into a single team for their harder battles.

That "Kracko" painting is Dark Matter's final form from Kirby's Dreamland 2. It became its defacto form after that.

Ever since Medibot took his LP of this down, I've been waiting for someone else to do one. I am hyped as hell that it's you guys.
King dedede is based off the fairy penguin actually. It's a tiny blue penguin that lives in south America if I'm remembering correctly
You guys are killing it with the game choices recently. Keep it up! Can't wait to see more!

Omg this was the only Kirby game I played and I played the shit out of it. Excitement is 11/10
I remember playing the shit out of this game as a kid! I'm really excited that you're lp-ing it.
I just want to say watching this results in some very *weird* "Up Next" selections...

Something about how dark matter possesses people and transforms them strikes me as a very eldritch thing.

This is by far my favorite Kirby game
Maybe a bit silly, but plans to show off the different UI themes?
Or the lift mechanic?
Yeees! I love this game and I'm super excited to see this LP! :D
(my fav. Kirby is Epic Yarn lol)
The next world looks like it'll be destroyed by a supernova every 20 minutes
Holy cow it's the best game on the 64 fun mix of combo powers
Ado and Adeline are the same person
Yoshi... you do not insult our precious Bandana Dee.
I remember just how broken the fireworks power was on most bosses.
It's surprising that Aveline (?) hasn't shown up in more games, since some of the games have had extremely similar characters.
Adeleine and Ado don't show up too much, now that i think of it.
My favorite combos were fireworks and curling...
KIRBY!!!!!!
Kirby's great in Ultimate the fuck is Yoshi talking about.
