The landscape is like ancient Roman. That ruin at the end is a spectacular scenery to behold. There is huge tourism potential in this elusive African country.
Thank you, sir.
Not only Roman, but also Numidian ❤
the pheniciens in the first place @@ReineDz
because it is ancien roman ruins, Algeria was occupied by the roman empior, alot of algerian cities are build on top of ancient romane ruins. some stayed in better shape than others.
It's clearly roman ruins

For whatever reason, some trolls cant keep from making silly comments about safety, violence or something of that nature...
The country is safe, period.... as safe as normal life goes... it's filled with good wellcoming people that would help strangers with not even a shred of malice or bad intentions...
No country is perfect and algeria is far from it, but dont talk about it as if bombs and killings are waiting to blow everywhere... simply not true...
We know who they are ... our frustrated neighbours😅
They are just frustrated that they do not have such a rich country with it's culture. They know that if we open the door to tourism, their country will just die

I an algerian and I am going to say thx for visiting Algeria and I hope that you are enjoying here and our desert is one of the best places to travel to like Tamanrasset. You should find a tourist agency that offers trips in the desert so that they take you to the right places and the good ones

PS: algeria is the biggest country in Africa so it's called the continent country,i recommend minimum 20 days to visit the 1/3 of it 😁
I enjoyed the scenes you filmed and documented. It would have been nice to hear more about the ruins, was that a part of Constantine as well? What was the extent of Roman occupation on Algeria if at all? There appears to have been some based on the architecture at the ruins.
Algeria is the second country after italy doted with roman ruins
biggest sites are timgad, djemila and tipaza and there are many more.
مرحبا بك 💙💙💙🇩🇿
No, that's in Timgad, it's a city 2 hours away from Constantine, and yeah Algeria have a lot of ancient ruin of the Roman civilization, Timgad is full of ancient ruins of the Romans
Hi sir!
I just would like to kindly suggest that you read about the Great Empire of Numidia.
I can help with some lines to initiate you to this matter 😊
The chief towns of Numidia were: in the north, Cirta or modern Constantine, the capital, with its port Russicada (Modern Skikda); and Hippo Regius (near Bône), well known as the see of St. Augustine. To the south in the interior military roads led to Theveste (Tebessa) and Lambaesis (Lambessa) with extensive Roman remains, connected by military roads with Cirta and Hippo, respectively.
Numidia was unified by King Massinissa who was best known for leading a federation of Massylii Berber tribes during the Second Punic War (218-201 BC), ultimately uniting them into a kingdom that became a major regional power in North Africa (Algeria now, part of Tunisia, and part of Libya). Much of what is known about Masinissa comes from the Livy's History of Rome, and to a lesser extent Cicero's Scipio's Dream. As the son of a Numidian chieftain allied to Carthage, he fought against the Romans in the Second Punic War, but later switched sides upon concluding that Rome would prevail. With the support of his erstwhile enemy, he united the eastern and western Numidian tribes and founded thegreat Kingdom of Numidia. As a Roman ally, Masinissa took part in the decisive Battle of Zama in 202 BC that effectively ended the war in Carthage's defeat; he also allowed his wife Sophonisba, a famed Carthaginian noblewoman who had influenced Numidian affairs to Carthage's benefit, to poison herself in lieu of being paraded in a triumph in Rome.

Sly, even though I rarely comment, I have enjoyed all of your vlogs I've seen so far. So I wanted to take a moment to let you know. Your narration is warm, personal and honest. The walk through the ancient ruins was fantastic! It would take me from sunrise to sunset to walk through only a portion. I would have to pause periodically, sit down, meditate and just enjoy the view and quietness before continuing my walk. I hope you explored more of the ancient ruins before leaving Constantine and will share on future uploads.
Very nice video ! Interesting discoveries ! 👍
Great video, Sly. One of your best trips to see, IMO.
Fantastic video. You've inspired me to go next year. Algeria should be getting more tourists, but I have to think the visa process puts some people off. They should go to an online visa or visa on arrival.
Visa on arrival is available for southern trecks, you then can flip to the north.
We don't want mass tourism here in Algeria. People are welcome to come here and enjoy an authentic experience of our country, but we don't want the huge crowds and the changing of the country to fit the expectations of people who are used to experiences in countries that rely massively on tourism. In short, welcome to Algeria!
Pretty sure you don't speak for all of Algeria. I'd be willing to bet hotel owners, shop keepers and restaurants would want more visitors. But hey, everyone gets an opinion. @@Mabaz
I don't speak for all of Algeria of course. But I told you information that is common here. You can ask around. Anyways tourists are always welcome, but I guess you never tried to get a visa to come here. They do make it difficult except if you are going to the Sahara. I just spoke of the reason why they do that.@@JohnDoe-sr1dd
@@JohnDoe-sr1dd I'm not even Algerian, but I have to defend @Mabaz. Any sensible person knows that mass tourism ruins a country. Not everything is about money. Some things are more valuable than money. Doesn't matter what a few hotel owners or shop keepers or whatever think. They'll definitely be some out to make a quick buck (line their pockets) without thinking about the bigger picture. But, if you lay out the bigger picture for everyone in general and ask them to vote, they'll vote against mass tourism.
Tourism, like immigration, must have limits. I pity countries that leaned into mass tourism. These are people's long-term homes you visit, you have to respect their homes, their ways, and let them enjoy their homes. And people that have these places as homes lose a lot when their homes get changed to fit the expectations of tourists, when inflated prices make it hard for locals to buy their own products or to afford staying in their own beautiful countries, or when relationships change to the short term "tourist-tour guide" relationships that locals dread, or when the country gets curated, planned, and adjusted specifically for the tourist eye, instead of their governments focusing on the country as a place to be lived in by the locals.
I was in Algeria in 1990. One of my most fav countries EVER. I spent a week in Constantine - just hanging on one of the squares, eating pastries and drinking tea. LOVED it. This place was beautiful. And the people were the BEST. I was in Taghit for the BEST sand dunes, then down to Timimoun and Tamanrasset for a desert camel expedition. Then up to Ghardaïa and onto Constantine. Then off to Algiers by train to fly out to Cairo. I was in the country for a little over a month and it was MAGIC. But damn - I ate a TONNE of dates!! Stay safe on the road buddy.

Anytime I decide to do something, the secret is always out! But, that Algerian visa is pretty pricey. I know it’s for 2 years, but still. Which tour company did you use?
Tourist visa is only 15 USD valid up to 90 days
@@leostarings2535 not if you’re an American. $188 or $160. Both prices show. I’m not sure if there was a price increase or a change in the exchange rate.
@@Nubianette it’s a huge country! You will definitely need the multi entries and 2 years validity period . The US is the only country that gets such a long reusable visa, it’s called reciprocity. Enjoy! Bring some cash, you get better exchange rates then at the ATM withdrawals
