THANK YOU!!!!!!! I have spent over $500 trying to get rid of my check engine light. Code P2431 and P2432. I replaced the air pump, relay, and air injection check valve with no luck. I happened to watch this unrelated video by pure luck. It was the root of my problem! You Sir, are a genius!
Same area but different and more wires melted for me. My mechanic gave me a list of parts to replace with a price that was more than the truck is worth, I showed him your video and he fixed it in 30 minutes! This was a big problem, with a simple fix thanks to your post. I owe you a giant THANK YOU!
Dude you saved my life truck was making the old lady crazy took it to the shop a bunch of times and they couldn’t find the problem. Saw your video wrapped all the wires reset the gauge settings and presto problem solved. Thank you so much for sharing your video it only took me an hour to do everything. Happy wife Happy Life.
Oh my goodness! THIS was my problem!! Thank you so much for video!!! Found 2 wires that were grounding out after we have replaced all those other parts with no results...thank you again!!!!
GREAT CATCH! wow you are great at what you do to find something so simple as a ground wire thank you my hummer had the same problem, but before i went and bought all the new parts i checked the wire harness as you suggested and to my shock the exact wire was stripped and touching the valve cover i repaired it and i went on 500-mile trip and back with no issues, Thank you again😂
I just bought a 07 hummer H3 2 weeks ago, a week later I started going up a interstate and started having this problem, I've been changing all those things and never thought to check all this stuff, I'm going to check this all out. Thank you so much for the video!
Thanks for the help… 08 H3 ,3.7L having same intermittent problem… found same brown wire rubbed through insulation, shorting out on valve cover… Blue wire almost rubbed through also.. installed new valve cover last year never replaced the wire looms as they were all brittle and crumbling…. It’ll be my Labor Day weekend project.. thanks again for Sharing….
Going to hop on this tonight! I have a 2006 H3 with all the same characteristics. I have the position sensor, MAF sensor, peddle, and similar items in my amazon cart. Hoping this saved me a good deal of time. There is also a power drain so makes sense it's a stripped cable.
Mine is 07 Lux, 2 years of this on/off power loss, stab sys etc. Multiple tows, thousands of dollars to various mechanics to solve it. Hubby finally pulled dash apart, frayed wire behind radio and the 4h4L buttons were GLUED in, didn't work transfer case at all. New buttons, and some tape over the wire and ..fingers crossed....no more issues.
Watched your video and did exactly what you described and BINGO!! Same brown wire was burned. THANK YOU very much car is running perfectly. Blessings to you my friend!!
I had the exact same issue several years ago. I replaced throttle body, sensors but no luck. Had to take it to a mechanic and he was able to find the WIRE issue. All this happened a few months after dealer did some engine work on it and extended warranty had expired.
In my case my wiring all OK, I have unplugged oxigin sensors bank upstream, and the car run perfectly after that. Make sure you check ur oxigin sensor ❤
I think these motors run hot sometimes. I replaced the wire looms (covering) twice they were brittle and melted. Now I will look for this problem because I am having trouble with the stab traction control etc. Thank you
I heard after brake service this may occur. I just had my front pads changed and installed a new battery last week. I've never had a problem with this car (09 H3) until now. This first happened to me Sunday and every day since. I'm actually sitting on the side of the road because it just happened again. Hopefully I will be able to make it home eventually and take a look
The battery terminals have been none to be an issue as well. Since you just changed the battery I would start there and make sure the terminals aren't weak or broken.
My H3 randomly loses power, especially when it rains, the engine works smoothly but doesn't react to accelerator pedal. I've cleaned the throttle, MAF sensor, found several ground issues but the problem arises again and again. Experimentally I found that the issue dissappears when I unplug the 4wd harness and plug it again. And after that it works as a charm. Then after a couple of days it arises again.
Where are the intake sensor wires connected? I bought a Hummer this week and the sensor is there, but the connector with the wires are gone. The old owner must have disappeared with him, I don't know. I would like to know the path of the sensor wire input to its final destination. Thank you
When you pressed down on the wire did it just trip the code...or did the engine start running differently ! Was there a Noticeable difference immediately when you depressed the wire ? Thanks !... I just bought my H3 2 days ago !
This harness should be a recall . The problems keep coming one at a time . Trans won’t shift will also happen later fuse box gets wet so all relays get trashed . roof leaks onto the TCM and BCM by they passenger door because the ran the drain tube on top of it basically
I am very upset , two weeks without driving my Hummer H3, i am from Italy but i live in Lithuania , nobody here is able to solve my problem. The car can drive maximum 40 minutes and then the usual sequence comes up, yellow engine sign, SERVICE STAB SYS TRACTION FAILURE REDUCED POWER, and car dies. ERROR CODE P0601 After 10-15 minutes everything normal again. I bought this car 2 months ago, a service installed for me the parking sensors. Also, one day i forgot the lights on, a friend of mine came to help me with a portable car battery charger . I remember that he had to increase the voltage because he said that it wasn't working. After few days the car randomly died for the first time, now it's happening all the time after 40 minutes driving. I took to some electric guy but he couldn't solve the problem he just said that car computer might be replaced but he won't do that because he doesn't know how to program it. Here in Lithuania all car services are scared of american cars, i don't know why !! I won't surrender but i am really upset. What could you recommend me to do ? Thanks a lot
Electrical tape works best without having to cut or splice the wire. The actual wire was not damaged just the rubber insulation around it, so I only needed to re-insulate it to keep it from grounding out on anything. If it was a single wire that did not go into a harness I would have used heat shrink.
Was down 3 day's ready to call a wrecker. Same brown wire as you. I will tell Christ of your kindness. Many thank's !!

Best video yet, you make it clear and simple to understand saved me hundred of dollars and hours of labor. Thank you sir
THANK YOU!!! Yes blessings to you bro!! We've spent over 1000 dollars in problems with this issue! You are the man homie. Thank you!!!
Extremely helpful, same problem with my 07 H3. Thanks to this post it's now fixed.

Thanks for the video! Just going through all the hummer videos just seeing all the stuff that can happen to them. Got to be ready
Thank you for sharing, imple but golden tip for troubleshooting

Anorher thing to check is the battery terminals. They tend to be a common failure point that I discovered as well.
Good luck.

Great find and good detective work. BTW, its May10 so HAPPY MOTHER's DAY.
So helpful. Thank you. We have the same car and it definitely did want to make it through the winter. I am going to try to find this today!
Bro you are a life saver 🙌🙌💕
Insane, thanks for sharing!

Just called repair shop and emailed them your vid. Fingers crossed
EXCELLENT video. Thanks
I had trouble with engine stalling & loss of power. It was the 4WD buttons on the dash. Make sure they are always on 4⬆️

I’m having this issue right now, my hummer is saying traction failure and stab sys. Is this the cause of the issue ?

I have the same problem on my 2006 H3, it would just die when slowing down and making a turn. Did that fix the problem? Thanks for sharing.
Yes, after repairing the exposed wire, the issue was fixed and never came back
Did your engine turn off after a while ?
I don't believe it ever shut off. Just ran really rough with reduced engine power. I also never let it run too long when this was happening
Thank you
Thank You 👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Did anybody else also have a problem with overheating while dealing with issues related to video
What size engine is that?
Thanks bud.
Smart
could a blinker short cause this?

prova a pulire il debimetro
Run vin # for recall on blower motor female clip, short
See if that needs it
Should you just wrap those wires in electrical tape
Electrical tape works best without having to cut or splice the wire. If it was a single wire that did not go into a harness I would have used heat shrink.
Harness number?
I'd just put some Hot Glue on the bad wire and tape it up.
