Okay let me explain how this wand works step by step: The add mana adds mana to the triple spell that makes it use 0 mana The triple cast has one energy sphere and two chain saws, both chainsaws lower recharge delay and remove cast delay. Then he specifically puts the faster recharge outside of the spell block so it wraps back around. This then causes the wand to in total have 0 recharge and cast delay and the add mana gives you a net positive mana meaning it uses zero mana and can be fired infinitely. This wand will struggle against robot enemies however because of how all the spells do slice damage.
@@4karlrockandstone What do you think I said that was incorrect? I was pointing out that Add Mana adds 30 mana to the available mana, it doesn't reduce mana costs of any particular spell. Is that not the case?

It would be a bit more efficient to have the Reduce Recharge Time at the start after the Add Mana, and then use your spare Double at the end to wrap. You could get by with only 1 chainsaw then, which would make the spread narrower and easier to aim at things.

Huge tip: get an add trigger spell and apply it to a green bounce bolt (you can also use a bubble spark with trigger, but you might want some add lifetime with it). Also add basic homing, drilling and piercing shot. Make the payload a bunch of triplicate bolts with heavy shot. Bubble sparks work great, maybe even better. Hexagon spread is great for this if you have the capacity.
Spell wrapping! If a modifier has nothing to latch onto at the end, it wraps the start onto the end. This means you can cast your want twice per reload instead of once, and also because of the chainsaws in the triple, they get cast twice and have their modifiers added twice too!
What's happening is *{* [ (add mana) triple cast: Orb, chainsaw, chainsaw] [ (reduced recharge) (add mana) triple cast: Orb, chainsaw, chainsaw) ] *}* *RELOAD* It effectively turns the wand into that instead of just *{* [ (reduced recharge) (add mana) triple cast: Orb, chainsaw, chainsaw) ] *}* *RELOAD* And of course, four chainsaws is much better than two.
For that wand, I would use Add Mana - Reduce Recharge - Double Cast - Freezing Charge - Light - Sparkbolt - Chainsaw - Triple Cast Using only one chainsaw reduces the spread but needs to be compensated by an additional cast of Reduce Recharge which increases the mana cost, swapping out the Energy Sphere for a Freezing Charge and Light enhanced Sparkbolt maintains the same damage with less spread and mana cost and a bit of increased crit chance. The Triple Cast at the end of the wand is being used to wrap in the same way any modifier would be able to wrap.
recharge rate is calculated throughout the wand, not at the end. that's how casts can reduce it if they're in a row. so why would putting this last change anything at all? I figured it was because energy sphere adds to recharge, but it doesn't. is it because it creates a new spell group? i.e. would removing it and putting the final chainsaw in the beginning accomplish the same thing
@@lelandrb Add mana - Triple - Esphere - 2 Chainsaws - Reduce Recharge creates 2 cast blocks. The first cast block has all of the spells except for Reduce Recharge. Having Chainsaw as the last spell sets the cast delay to 0 and having 2 chainsaws in the cast block reduces the recharge time by 0.17x2 The second cast block starts with Reduce Recharge, then wraps the wand and manages to cast all of the spells again up to the last chainsaw, again setting the cast delay to 0 and the 2 chainsaws reduce recharge time by 0.17x2 and the reduce recharge reducing it by 0.33 The final recharge time of his wand is 0.95-0.17x2-0.17x2-0.33=-0.06. Because each cast block also has a cast delay of 0, this wand fires a cast block every frame (or 60 times per second) Removing the reduce recharge time would still allow for the wand to wrap, but would not have a significant enough effect on the recharge of the wand, and every other cast would be firing just a chainsaw, which would essentially half the fire rate of the wand even if it did fire every frame (since the frames with just a chainsaw would not fire an energy sphere) The first cast block would fire just a chainsaw, setting the cast delay to 0 and reducing the recharge time by 0.17 The second cast block would fire all of the spells, wrapping back to the first chainsaw, casting a total of 2 chainsaws for a reduction of 0.17x2 The final recharge time of the wand would be 0.95-0.17-0.17x2=0.44, so with a cast delay of 0 you would be firing 2 cast blocks over 2 frames (only one of which has an energy sphere), then waiting about half a second before firing again. Even if this did get the final recharge time to 0, every other frame would be just a chainsaw, while the second frame would have the remaining spells. In his original wand, the only spell not in both cast blocks is the reduce recharge, which since he only needs to cast it once in order to get his recharge time low enough, it is optimal to wrap using it to save mana. If his wand was worse, then he would need to put Reduce Recharge at the beginning, and wrap using the Light spell, casting it twice per recharge for an additional 0.33 seconds of recharge.
There are two hidden mechanics going on: 1. Multicasting a projectile and a chainsaws reduces that projectile's cast delay to make it rapid-fire. 2. Placing any spell that requires another spell (such as Double or any modifier) will cause the wand to wrap back to the start because it needs a spell to cast. This allows the Add Mana and projectile and chainsaws to cast a second time without any added delay. The only other thing going on is the Add Mana adds +30 mana each time it is run, so with the wrap that is 60 added mana. So long as all the spells use up less than the 60 mana, it's rapid fire without using any mana.
@@toastmaster914 Have you turned off cosmetic particles? I cant use the Add Damage spell unless I have cosmetic particles turned off.
а сумарный recharge time получается:
+0.95 (стартовый у ванда) - 0.17 (пила) - 0.17 (пила) -0.33 (стрелка) - 0.17 (пила) - 0.17 (пила) = -0.06
