Lord, just as the thirsty fawn
1.Lord, just as the thirst-y fawn search-es for a brook
Need-ing wa-ter from the stream, so I seek for You.
With my soul so parch'd and dry. to the liv-ing Lord My
burn-ing heart cries ear-nest-ly, search-ing, for my God.
2.How the dev-il taunts my soul, mak-ing, fun of me,
Ask-ing, "Where is Him you seek?" say-ing. "There's no God!"
Per-se-cut-ed all day long, ev-'ry day and night, My
tears come flow-ing down my face: noth-ing, can I eat.
3.With my head bowed in de-spairs, breath-ing pain-ful sighs,
Then my long-ing heart re-calls where God's peo-ple pray.
Sounds of wa-ter falls I hear ech-o from the peaks. God's
waves and break-ers rise-up high, o-ver-flow-ing all!
4.Keep not sad-ness in your heart! Put your hope in God!
All day long He fills my life with His mer-ci-ful.
And at night. He gives to me man-y songs to sing. So
my true Lord, I lift You up, prais-ing You on high!
